    In this documentary, I tell the true story of James ‘Jimmy’ Zhong. In 2012, while studying Computer Science at the University of Georgia, he found an exploit on the most notorious darknet market allowing him to take Bitcoins directly from the site. As the years went on and Bitcoin soared in value his loot had increased to a staggering $3.4 billion dollars. For nearly a decade he avoided the FBI & IRS, but in 2019, he made one single mistake leading them directly to his door. Jimmy's case is the second-largest seizure in the Department of Justice's history.

      To be fair that analogy isn't quite right, you'd have to be in the middle of a drug deal, take out a bundle of money from the stash and say "it's my pay day, kool?" and pablo would be like "ay cool m8, here have another 50k for your troubles kid 😊", then years later while working at staple your FBI raids you and tell you "that money you got was illegal money" and then you'd have to be like "oh what OMG for real? do you mean that when I was buying drugs and hookers it wasn't a legit business? OMG! no way! 😱"
      Seriously the comments here makes it sound like Jimmy got his coins in a totally legit way... granted he shouldn't have lost ALL of his coins, but the vast majority of his coins were indeed from an illicit source. I truelly wish that he never lost his money, but he fucked up, and that's to me is why Bitcoin is such a fucking joke.
      Why do people want to use a coin that is 100% traceable if you have enough time and resources? (aka gov)

      @sun-eye Před 11 měsíci +2

      EXACTLY! Most of these VPN companies will do this. Now, they will try to sell you their services by saying they don't save any log files. What they don't tell you is that if they get a warrant from ANY government agency about a particular subject they are investigating, they WILL track you without letting you know. The ONLY way to counter this is by getting a VPN service from a country that is NOT part of the five or eleven eyes (I am unsure if I said the second one correctly). The five eyes are countries that work with the United States, and vice-versa, to investigate a suspect. The United States does not have jurisdiction over any countries outside this group.
      Unfortunately, many VPN services outside the five or eleven eyes are not that great. Some of them are, but you must do your homework and try different ones out.
