The 3D world port plays way faster and better on switch, the movement feels great. Honestly was worth it for me because I found the wii u one slow and clunky, while I loved the platforming on switch
Not even to mention browser's fury as a pure bonus

While I had a ton of fun playing Bowser’s Fury, I wouldn’t call it “the future of Mario games” or “the best Mario game of all time” since Odyssey exists and I that is my favourite Mario game at the moment.
Same here but the concept that bowser fury shows is something unique while keeping the similar fun 3D world format
Though Odyssey sadly isn't my favorite of the series

Imagine odyssey with the open world with some linear sections style of bowser's fury

Yeah, Odyssey is by far the Mario game that plays the absolute best, and then Galaxy 1 is the best Mario game (and will probably never be topped until after Miyamoto either dies or finally stops fucking over the Mario series)

Absolutely amazing video.
I legit didn’t notice any frame rate drops during any part of Bowser’s Fury.
I have a few issues with this game personally. Firstly, the game kinda lacks any really unique challenges. Almost every stage gimmick that was added here was ripped straight from 3D World, making this game feel a lot more samey than it should be.
Secondly, the enemies are all ripped from 3D World. Although everything has a unique design, which is very cool, I want some new enemy types to make this game feel at least a bit more distinguished. Plus, the only unique boss in this game is Fury Bowser, which is just a shame.
Thirdly, the level theming for every island is really bland. It really doesn’t have the same imagination we have seen from past 3D Mario games. The most variations we get in terms of level theming are a snow tower and a volcano. Heck, even Super Mario 3D Land offered more visual variety than this game.
I mean, it is a bonus game reusing assets from 3D world, so that of course it reuses enemies and stage gimmicks
@@cmkat1 Well, when people hype it up and say things like “this is the future of 3D Mario” or “this mode makes the whole package worth buying again”, I just have to jump in and give my opinions on the subject and say that it really isn’t all that perfect as people make it out to be.
I know that I am not the 1st to say it, but that's the point.
3D World BUT Odyssey.
An extra (mini but not that small)game to make you buy a game that is NOT new.
I get what you're saying, don't worry, and actually I would normally be in your side, but the fact is that this is not an actual standalone game, this is basically a official romhack for Odyssey in a bundle, it doesn't need to be treated as a separate game.
People just over hype everything and don't understand the true value and place of things, this is [not] the absolute future of the Mario 3d series.
@@cmkat1 that's kind of the problem though. If your gonna bother making new content when remaking a game, You might as well put in the effort to make it entirely fresh. I don't know how it's just a bonus either when your still paying 60$ for what is otherwise, the same game 6 years ago with small changes.
It was pretty fresh tho, this game has kind of set the stage for the future of 3D Mario, I mean the whole scary bowser and what is like a day might cycle is very unique for a Mario game

This game is just to short you can beat the game and 100% in like less than three hours and Nintendo said it would take 5-6 hours

It took me (and most people I've seen play it) around 6 hours to 100%.

Timing jumps is impossible most platforms move u can’t back flip or long jump enemies every and so on
I would rather have a little lag than only 30fps if I am being honest. I don't even play this undocked for that reason.

@@Bertiboy That is very true, and I really should have reworded it, but I was trying to draw a distinction between games made in house by Nintendo and Nintendo games made by other companies. Age of Calamity has Koei Tecmo involved so take that as you will. Very fair point though.

Bowser's fury is great. There are some flaws like how short it is and the fury bowser mechanic gets annoying. What I like most about this game is the level design, I like how it combines platforming and exploration. If they make the an odyssey 2 with kingdoms similar in structure to lake lapcat, it would be the perfect mario game.
I want to watch this review but at the same time I dont want to spoil the game for when I get it

i emulated bowser's fury and it not once had a lag spike and i'm running it with a gt1030 and a 4 core 3ghz cpu. can my low end piece of shit pc really run it better through emulation than the actual console? edit: forgot to mention i have a 1920x1280 display and ran it in borderless fullscreen.
