this is one of the few animes that actually made me cry....shyt was good....cant wait for season 2
The hardest death for me was Gugu's. Because at that point? I was like "I'm not getting attached to anymore fucking characters" I mean the second Fushi turned into Gugu I legit yelled "NO!" and paused the episode for about 30 minutes asking myself "Why would they do this to Gugu?" I was so pissed and sad. And the OP and the end sing doesn't make it any better. They sound beautiful an all but they sound sad aswell. Hitting even more....
But Pioran death still hit me but since I learned my lesson with Gugu it didn't hit me as hard. Thank god I didn't get to attached to characters after Gugu. Pioran death definitely would've gotten me big time.
Also what makes this even worse. Because Gugu character developed big time and he grew AND HE WAS LIKE A BIG BROTHER TO FUSHI!? He was honestly my favorite character in this anime. And they fucking killed him. Especially when the girl he loved kissed him. It.... really got me.........

So fye is pretty much the soul and if it hasn’t passed on to paradise it can choose to wonder the world as a ghost (we’ve even seen march as a ghost in s1)
Ok I’ll have to give a bit more context so you know why he does this bare with me. So fushi was told that when he creates things they have a small membrane on them while connected to his body (I believe that we also see a bit of that in s1) with that membrane he can feel what it feels and the object becomes an extension of his body allowing him to create more things on that object and feel what they feel as well. So then he was like hey what if I get these roots and keep making more roots on them... And then he made an entire forest that is pretty much his body allowing him to
Feel whatever enters the forest
Change the forest to his will to defend from knockers like stabbing them with roots
Create a body anywhere in the forest and use that as his main body (allowing him to travel big distances)
Ok so at this point in the story he’s defending renril with this giant root connection he’s constantly growing and has made bodies all over the place to teleport to.
One of these bodies was March and one of the attacks from the knockers causes an explosion that made her body fall of the edge of the wall she was on cutting the rope connected to the root network allowing her fye that has been following fushi for the last 200 years to enter her body resurrecting her (then she just kinda runs around in the chaos for a couple dozen chapters till finding fushi and saving him
11:12 at least she did technically hit her target even if it wasn’t fatal
The first death was the saddest because it was hopless to begin with there was no way he'd have survived no matter what. So it was all scuffed from the start.
