Manoj Kumar Very true!
Yes
Yes bro
Bro, For a second I just went to my childhood days. Miss it.
It's a beautiful steam locomotive
UK has daily steam locomotive trains running.
Plenty of steam locomotive action of all shapes and sizes in UK.
They even built a brand new steam locomotive in 2009 called the Tornado.
Well over 200 plus operational steam locomotives they have. They even have miniature steam locomotives which run on tiny gauge tracks.
The joy of steam train locomotive is something truly to behold.
India needs to preserve its few remaining steam locos very carefully.
Awesome video.
Thanks for the info
Even I have seen some steam locos on yt like flying Scotsman, British Pullman, union Pacific big boy, union Pacific 844,mallard, sterling single no 1, blue comet, southern Pacific daylight, 1225 loco of polar express
Superb video. Brings back memories of my childhood days. Nothing can match the glory and majesty of these beautiful engines. Long live steam locos
Many thanks!
Thank you Mr . Western Railway this the best video I've seen for along time and you have taken so much care and time to record this great occasion Keep up the good work . I only wish my cousin was alive to see this video because he used to be the yard master at Basin Bridge marshalling yard in Madras
Thanks a lot! I can understand your feeling of nostalgia
In late 50's a little boy of 8/9 yrs. standing on a small station Simultala was watching with a bagfull surprise in his eyes the speedy passing of Toofan Express with giant Canadian engine . Oh what a Nostalgia !. The boy is now 72yrs.old.
glad you liked sir :)
@@WesternRailways Thanks for reply.
But heart is of 12 years.
Where is Simultala located .Toofan Express was one of the most prestigious trains of British India and was known as 7UP and 8DN.Kalka Howrah Mail was 1UP and 2DN and Frontier Mail was 3UP and 4DN. Probably Punjab Mail or Bombay Calcutta mail was 5UP and 6 Down. Some of the educated people generally called these trains by their numbers to impress others. There were distance restriction on this train, mail trains and other prestigious express trains according to the class of tickets. So once we have to travel in 2nd class in Toofan Express from Aligarh to Etawah instead of Inter Class and the tickets at that time of 2nd class was very expensive. I was very much excited when I learnt that we would have to travel in Toofan Express. There used to be 4 classes i.e First, Second, Inter class and third class. Inter class was called dyora in Hindi meaning one and half times of 3rd Class and people of middle class used to travel in inter class as it provided thin cushioned seats for sitting only as in present 2 class. First and second class used to have separate compartments with separate doors and separate attached toilets. Each Compartment would have 2 upper and 2 lower births meant for only 4 people during night and for 6 people during day journey. First Class would also have separate coupe compartment with its separate door and toilet. First class compartments were very spacious with 4 sofa chairs and central table provided for sitting besides sitting cum sleeping births. Now we don't have separate doors and separate toilets even for AC and first Class as now corridors have been added.
May the glorious past of steam rail engines may ressurect .No word can express the emotion to see a steam engine in the new era.
OMG thank you for this wonderful video . The great WP is roaring again . I used to spend hours when I was young sitting on a wall near the rail lines at Perambur station in Madras waiting to see these beautiful giants rushing past hauling the express trains .Brings back sweet memories of my schooldays .I m saving this video to watch over and over again .
How wonderful, I'm little bit nostalgic, watching the Steam Locomotive after a long time, a few years back Sunday revival run was organised by ER from Howrah to Belur, sad that was stopped, Thanks Indian Railway for this effort, love from Kolkata.❤
I have travelled by train many countless times with a WP Pacific locomotive pulling the train. They are the fastest locomotives and would haul all important express and mail trains. They were so fast that they would recover lost time during the run and reach the destination on time. India those days in the early 1970s had two main locomotives the WP² steam locomotives and yhe ALCO WDM² and WDS Pappu - Shunting Locomotives, WAM and WCAM were the next to come after electrification of the main trunk railway lines.
The only drawback of travelling on the steam locomotives hauled trains was dealing with coal dust and sticking the head out of the window one got coal dust in the eyes, most of the passenger coaches had wooden seats and no bars on the windows so we would stick our heads out whenever it was possible. Red eyes with tears was the result , the smells of the coal smoke was the bonus of travel. Now a days one can travel and straight away go to office from the railway station. Those days one had to have a bath change clothes, scrub off the coal dust etc then only one could be presentable to join duty. Life was not as fast paced as of today. Reaching the destination and enjoying the experience of the Journey was important. Now reaching the destination in the shortest possible time is the norm, then straight away getting into the Materialistic Zombie Rat Race...
Thanks for sharing
Only 1800's kids remember those days.
Nostalgic feeling. Smell of the smoke, the mesmarising whistle.
I'm sure there must be hundred of boys who wanted to pilot this engine and blow the whistle.
Am fortunately I have seen and travelled in these trains. Rail journey more thrilling than aeroplane.
Glad you liked
Ah ‘ Canada Engine’ as it was known. Liked this engine better than the other steam locos with flat front. After every such overnight journey in a steam engine powered train meant a good scrubbing by mom 😊 as my face and hair would be covered in soot. Catching a glimpse of the engine as the train entered a curve was always and still is exciting!
How nostalgic! My childhood days of class V in De Nobili School Dhanbad in 1966-67 come flashing back to memory when I used every Saturday afternoon to board either the Coal Field Express or the Black Diamond Express plying from Dhanbad to Calcutta for two hour journey to Asansol to get mathematics coaching from my grandfather residing there, and return home on Sunday afternoon by those same trains to Dhanbad.
I have travelled on steam locomotive run trains up to 1984-85 from Delhi to Rohtak while working at Bahadurgarh and Rohtak factories of my employers mostly on passenger trains and sometimes on express trains like the fast Tilak Bridge - Rohtak Shuttle Express.
Glad you Enjoyed! Thanks for sharing :)
When I was around 8 yrs old I remember these steam engines were in use along with diesel engines.
That's our prestigious history and should never be abandoned
Very good to see an old steam locomotive in it premium beauty and full function, thanks to all engineers and allied staff for their hard work and such a remarkable achievement.
Love to see our old steam locomotives running back on tracks just beautiful❤❤❤
Some memories cannot be described in words. If a poet there he'll pen a song. Old is gold always. That means it teaches you the existence difference and development. Good video sir
Thanks a lot
King of Locomotives 🙏🏻 a foundation stone for all subsequent age locomotives.
very beautiful to see these wonderful machines in action their discontiuation only left a void in life of railway enthusiasts, I only see people getting nostalgic but FEEL WE ALL COULD DO SOMETHING FOR THEIR REVIVAL.
Thanks for taking us to the 60s and 70s when one would wait for the Flying Ranee( BOMBAY-SURAT) to chug through Dadar station very evening with this SURYA MUKHI.
No words bro!! Hats off to you!!! Great work :)
Purani yade taaza ho gayi ❤❤
I wish I was there to see it with my own eyes . Beautiful place .
What I actually feeled is like a steam engine which is a kid and after almost 2 decades it is running on tracks and he is like honking in crying in happiness after so many years 😭😢❤️🔥
Ab Tak Ka Sabse Best Shoot Kiya h Aapne. Fan Ho Gaya hu Aapka.
From there to bullet train and beyond...
Long live Homeland 🇮🇳
Thanks for watching
सर मै भी भावुक हो गया हूँ।
I was lucky enough to travel on a train being pulled by these beautiful machines. I remember the time when they were placed into retirement as a sad day. Still, I understood why it had to be done.
On one trip to Puri, while checking out the engine at a station, the train driver offered us the chance to be in the engine while on the route. He simply stopped the engine on the way, we hopped out onto the side of tracks, walked to the front, and got to witness the workings of the engine. I remember the driver letting me pull the whistle.
thanks for sharing Awesome experience
❤Just fantastic..awakening childhood golden memories.👍🏼👍🏼

Superb Capture....
Great camera work in preserving this great locomotive video.Only hope the Indian govrnment recognizes its historical value and maintains it for more people to see.
Nice video !! And it’s good to see no ads in the double decker ( but some still have it ).
Chittaranjan locomotive factory was founded on 26th January 1950. This engine probably belongs to Canadian Baldwin Engine Class some of which were first imported from Canada in early 1950's and were subsequently manufactured in India. They have cone-shaped bulging nose with a silver star device painted on it. I hazily remember from my childhood memories the speech of then Railway Minister, probably, Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri that India has started manufacturing more powerful railway engines in Chittaranjan Workshop.
Nice. Thanks for sharing
My childhood favorite steam loco. Even today I can't miss listening those beautiful whistle.

On IRI, last date given is Sun Nov 25, 2018.
However, a couple of times they used Diesel Locomotives with this train instead of Steam.
It's a regular operation now
