We've been looking at small campers for quite awhile. We'd love to be able to go camping with my parents and other family members...but they're kind of expensive. Tom might have found a way around this!
And, all joking with the title aside, we view minimalism as living intentionally, and we're intentionally looking for ways to spend more quality time with family!
LOOKING FOR MORE SUPPORT?
We have a few ways that we can come alongside you:

3) TWO COURSES TO CHOOSE FROM:
Take Your House Back Course with Dana, Cas & me: www.takeyourhouseback.com/
Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes a Day Course: cli.re/Course
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO COURSES:
Take Your House Back is hosted by three of us: myself, Dana from A Slob Comes Clean and Cas from Clutterbug. We talk big picture about how to declutter and focus a lot of attention on working through obstacles like sentimental items, unsupportive family members and other hang-ups. This course is FUN, there is a lot of involvement from all three of us and the ideas are specific to those who haven't been successful in the past.
Ideal for those who have been decluttering for a long time with little success and those looking for more community and support.
In the Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes a Day course we go through the workbook, breaking down specific areas of your home in detail to be able to declutter faster and with more confidence. If you want to know specifics (like how many of each thing to keep) this course is for you.

Okay, you asked. When my husband and I were dating, I just mentioned that I loved the way Airstreams look. Next thing I knew, he had put a bid on a vintage Airstream on Ebay and won it. The only thing was - he didn’t have a vehicle to tow it. So he found a truck that needed work on Ebay and bought that! We lived in Illinois. The truck was in Florida and the trailer was in Mississippi! The work the truck needed had to be done before he could use it to tow the trailer so he arranged to have the truck towed to the repair place. Finally he was able to pick up the truck and drive to Mississippi to pick up the trailer. I stayed out of it (!!!!!), but it all worked out in the end and we took our honeymoon in the 1961 Tradewind Airstream and had a blast.
Your husband sounds like Tom’s twin 😉😄
Oh my goodness, this is such a great story!!!!!
So sweet!
I love this !
Fantastic story!🥰
14 years ago, I bought my wedding dress sight unseen. 🙈 I bought it on eBay! I had lots of very specific things I wanted in a dress and I prayed that I would find the exact dress and be able to afford it. When I saw this dress it was ALL of the things I had prayed for and way less than I thought I would have to pay. The lady said she wore it 30 minutes for her small wedding ceremony and then changed. I was so nervous. But it was perfect. I did have to have it taken in, but just barely.
I'm so glad that your prayers were answered and Ganesh came through for you.
Being a minimalist is all about living intentionally and making room in your lives for the people and activities that you love. Great job - have fun with your new camper!
Absolutely!!! That’s totally it!
Experience over stuff. Your minimalist status is not in jeopardy.
You two are a joy to watch. The ending though cracked me up - you get friends to go camping with you by providing a camper! I want friends like you all 🤣🤣
I really enjoy when you and Tom do a video together. You make a great team and are fun together.
Yes, my husband & I bought a house in South Carolina (we live in Iowa) just from realtor photos. We bought it in April 2018 & didn’t see it in person until June 2018. We love it & it has been a great investment property for us. We have only been inside once since 2018.
In September 2023 we are MOVING into the house & are looking forward to enjoying the warm Southern winters!!
It was a great purchase!!
I was inside my condo for less than 10 minutes and made an offer. Didn't get the loan. 2 weeks later i discovered 2 deals had fallen through and it needed to be sold pronto - preforeclosure. I made a much, much, lower offer, got financing, and moved in 5 weeks later. Lots and lots of sweat equity and as a single female, it wasn't easy but it was fun and my PITI is much less than even my rent was back then. Not site unseen but a very spur of the minute decision and was the only house/condo I looked at. Didn't intend to buy it but the set up was great, it hasn't been painted even yet and it smelled like smoke for a few months - but it's the first home I've ever owned and oh, I'm 67 and disabled. I built new closets, tore out the yuck shower doors, replaced a few cabinets, it had no appliances etc. And now, look. I own a place I can afford to live alone, in the beautiful mountains of Western NC and I never could have continued to afford rent as it's gone up.
Did I mention it's now worth MORE than twice what I pd 5 years ago. Someone smiles down on me.
Nice going. Not paying for mattresses you would have thrown out is perfect. And you don't have to rip out a perfectly good dinette. Great for a couch. Like I didn't have to finance the old appliances that would have come with this place. Used the money I saved to buy new. Sometimes, you snooze, you looze! Waiting for perfect you can end up with nothing. I love my little accessible condo and hope to leave feet first decades from now. 😀 Love your channel. (We had a tiny "Scotty" trailer growing up, then we had a converted school bus camper in the 60s before tiny homes were in style. It wasn't cool back then like it is now but I camped all summer most of my childhood. Life is good in a sleeping bag. 👍🏽
This is one lovely heartwarming story!
7 years ago I bought our retirement home sight unseen. My son told me it was ready to be sold. He called and gave me the price. I agreed and wired the money to Florida. We absolutely love it. It was a bit of a fixer-upper but loved every nonentity spent doing the house. We bought it in April of 2015 and hubby retired May of 2016. Been happy sine. This is our Paradise. Love you both and your children so much. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
YES! I agree Dawn you had an ideal beautiful American childhood! Love that it feels very classical and happy 😊💜
At the height of the pandemic, I was losing my mind with being cooped up. I am a stay at home mom and needed some way to get out of the house! We looked at a couple inexpensive used campers before my husband shocked me and asked to see some newer ones. Ended up with a 38ft camper with two bathrooms. 😂 We are for sure more glampers than campers. 🥴
Yes! I bought a horse last November only from videos. Worst part was breaking the news to my husband... lol.... I had low balled the bid and the guy took it. 😲 She's a sweetie. Not perfect but she makes my day!!
We bought our house in another state sight unseen. Still love it seven years later. The realtor pictures were good and we had an inspection and a couple of family members walk through. It's been a huge blessing for us.
when I was younger my parents bought a house in Texas from where we lived (in Pennsylvania) without looking at it in person. we drove a very long way with 3 vehicles, 2 big dogs, 9 puppies, my grandparents, and my 2 brothers with all of our belongings. other than the ingrown pool being a literal swamp with frogs and other critters, everything else was fine! lol
Lol I love this video.
We did exactly the same thing, bought a 21ft caravan on the other side of Australia sight unseen, then had it freighted on a truck to us. It arrived in the middle of the night and we found it had water damage in the bathroom corner. My husband was able to pull the side off and repair it. We then decided our current vehicle, although legal, was too small for that size caravan. So we purchased a ford f250 ( sight unseen!) 10 hours from home, my husband flew there to pick it up and then we found out it had gearbox issues. After some repairs we were all good and then set off on a 6 month journey around Australia - the best ever!!! Still wish we were on the road at times.
It's amazing how little you really need to live, we have a very small home, and the day we got back I couldn't believe how massive it was and went back to the caravan to eat lunch 😂 then promptly cleaned out 6 garbage bags of stuff from the kitchen alone.!!!!!
If Tom & Dawn didn't buy & renovate a trailer every year, the fans would be terribly disappointed 🤣😅😂
I agree. We are remodeling ours for 2 years now, a new one every year would be much more fun... 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣

😆
I have great memories of camping when I was a child.
We had a caravan (what campers are called in South Africa) when I grew up. It was very small compared to the big campers in the US. It did not have a bathroom and just a galley kitchen. There were two long beds at the back with a hammock style top bunk that you could put up to have space for 4. The front bed could actually be converted into a dinette as the “middle part of the bed folded away and the mattresses formed the cushions of the dinette. It would be permanently folded down when we were at the camping area.
Our caravans have tents that fit the caravan and you slide it onto a built in railing. You have a rally tent which is just a shade awning or a proper tent that doubles the size of the caravan. This is were we would sit, eat and cooked.
Aw thanks for showing us the pups!! You could totally do a complete video of just them, they'd have a lot of views!! 🐕Looking forward to seeing the camper and what you do inside of it!
Yes, more pup vids please!
Would love to learn more and enjoy watching the kids with the puppies
I really love it when both of you are in the video 📹 !
What a wonderful couple you are !
Yes! My husband is a "Tom" for all our married life. He's gotten very good at asking the right questions. Most of our vehicles come from west or south because of the no salt roads (we live in northern Wisconsin). Praying helps too! We've never had a lemon in 22 years. God has been good!
Small campers are great, especially when you are used to minimalism. We had a small old c class when our kids were young and it worked fine. Keep in mind, that it won’t be long before you may not have all of your kids going with you, or they want to sleep in a tent on their own. Now we have a van conversion, that is very compact and easy to drive, and easy on fuel. Kids are grown, and no longer come with us. Happy camping 🏕
Yup. The boys will want their own tent.
I am just hitting empty nest as my youngest will finish University this next spring. I’m widowed with 4 (soon to be 5) grandbabies who are spread 2.5 hours from me, one to the north and the other family is south. I’ve been thinking long and hard about getting a camper or van I can drive around to visit, take them camping or go on solo exploring trips myself. I have no clue how to back up a trailer straight and no vehicle to pull one with. I feel like a van would be too small but on the other hand, I could drive it around myself. Can I ask what kind you have and what went into making your decision for the one you picked??
@@kimberlygraham8565 We have a 2013 Roadtrek 210 Popular which we love. My advice to people is to rent a campervan first to see if it would work for you. It is definitely compact living, but so fun and simple.
Always enjoyable to watch your decision making process.
Now that our kids are 16+, we skip camping and now just rent cabins. We don't want to deal with more stuff as we get older, ha!
We have a camper of a similar size, my husband made the master bed into a futon that is a couch during the day. We bought 2 trifold twin mattresses and I made covers for them and we love it!
I LOVE this idea!!!!
This is a great idea. Our Rockwood ultralite has a Murphy bed that folds up against the wall & a comfortable couch is under it. Works wonderfully.
My husband bought our house and I didn't see it first. I received a black and white fax with the description, photo of the outside and price. 24 years and we still live there!
“Dawn is not a scoocher”. 😂
The video I watched just prior to this was the getting out of debt one. Unironically, it fits. Finding a great deal on something your family will use and enjoy and being able to buy it without stress is the reward of being financially free. I’m happy for y’all!!!
In the past I bought 2 classic cars which I hadn’t seen in person. But I could tell from the price that they were probably in average condition for their age, so I wasn’t expecting too much. One of them I bought on eBay during my lunch break at work. It had about 10 minutes left on the auction when I saw it, so it was a very quick decision! I loved them both and kept each of them for around 5 years.
Love your story about going to auctions with your grandpa. When I was a little girl my mom, my sister, and I had a bus that was the concession stand.
Y'all both look great & those shirt colors are very becoming! Nice to think of your parents as you have!💕 So nice to see y'all enjoying time with each other as well. Life can go by so quickly - cherish your parents, your children and each other 🥰
AMEN ! So true.
We bought our land in TX, that we now homestead, while we were living overseas. Sight unseen. It’s about 65 acres.
Zero regrets!
There was, however, much prayer involved. We wrote a letter with our offer (sharing our story and our plans for the land), so when they counter bid us for $10,000 LESS we took it as confirmation!
I'm so glad you prayers worked and Allah came through for you.
Love your videos!!! We bought a cabin in the TN mountains, sight unseen, while we were working in PA. We gutted the cabin, remodeled it and in this last housing boom, sold it for quite the pretty penny. Good luck on this next camper! Will be watching every video you post. 💕
Don't feel bad about your Veto power, Dawn. Clearly you have good instincts as Tom just attested to ☺️ I can't wait to see how you guys transform your new purchase.
Believe it or not, I bought my home basically sight unseen!! When I retired in Chicago and was ready to move to Omaha to be near my daughter & family, my condo sold in one day (2017) and I bought my townhouse on the first day it was listed in Omaha! My daughter & son-in-law gave me a “tour” of my place with the realtor over FaceTime!! Everything worked out perfectly and after 5 yrs I love my home!❤️
We bought our house without seeing it as well! Our realtor gave us a FaceTime tour and we asked some questions that we wouldn’t be able to tell without touching, opening, smelling, etc. We’re very happy!
Your upbringing sounds like ours in Indiana. Used to split a bottle of “pop” 3 ways! Mom & Dad rented campers when we went on trips. Both parents worked in factories and Dad farmed when he got home- lived surrounded by family and our farms. Wouldn’t trade it! ❤️
even in Australia, we had the same experience, getting "pop" was a rare event. Candies were for school holidays. nowadays kids get "treats" every single day.
Y'all are so fun!!! Love the great marriage dynamics!
YES we did.....we purchased a Class B Camper Van sight unseen. We has seen the floorpan at an RV show and knew that is what we wanted so when a used one became available last year, we purchased it sight unseen from a reputable dealership that specializes in nothing but Class B camper vans. There was a feeding frenzy and sort of still is for the Class B camper vans so we bit the bullet....It's been a year and a half and we're totally satisfied with our purchase. I'm glad to know we'e not the only ones that make crazy decisions. Love the idea of a small camper and I completely agree...we don't live in the van/camper...we live outside when we're camping! Love your channel.
I saw my house in person for the first time at the closing walkthrough! It was a fixer-upper, so a few headaches along the way, but totally worth it in the end!
YES!!! Our house in key west florida! We were military at the time and it being a small island, a major wait for military housing! When we got there it was decent but within a month, my husband fell thru the floor in our kitchen, we had bi-weekly termite swarms, 30 (not exaggerating) wild (and protected i might add GRR!) roosters and chickens lived in our tree, and the exterior wall that connected to the floor BECAME DISCONNECTED AND YOU COULD SEE OUTSIDE!!!!!
Long story short we moved but oh man oh mannn.
(One of the reasons i became a realtor; so military fams could rest assured they knew their moving situation.)
We have an almost identical camper! Same length and layout just the Jayco version. We absolutely love it, probably since we have the same camping philosophy 😊 We basically always have the dinette folded down, and we use it like a large couch for bedtime stories and what not. (with some throw pillows for back support). It is definitely perfect for families, zero regrets on the size!
As a family, we have purchased at least two large purchases, sight unseen. A Malibu wakeboard boat and a Ford Raptor truck. Both worked out very well. I was nervous but our guys enjoyed the great adventure of it.
Your tiny camper will be ideal for true adventure camping!
6 years ago we were living in CA and wanted to move to WA. Spent weeks driving around with a Realtor on multiple occasions for over 1 years. On Thanksgiving day I was notified by a website of a new listing. We viewed the video and pictures. Put in an offer, then went in to contract with a stipulation that we had 5 days to see the house in person. It met our expectations, so we bought our 5 acre homestead and couldn't be happier.
Still watching … oh I hope you got it ! You will be unstoppable with this ! SO worth it ! Great shopping skillz, too : checking out the “model” in person & then buying for half price ! Excellent Dawn & Tom ! Exciting !!
My boyfriend and I bought a camper sight unseen in Michigan. I was a bit nervous not knowing what it was like. All we had to go by were photos and the owners word. So we made the 6 hour drive from Wisconsin to Michigan. (There is a time change). We knew of a couple of issues beforehand and knew the awning motor had to be replaced. The owner showed us the Interior and the speaker wouldnt work. He said “it worked yesterday”.🙄 Come to find out after a camper tech looked at it after we had it back In Wisconsin, there are slight electrical issues and a few outlets don’t work. They think the new roof install pierced some wiring 2 years ago. Overall it is working fine.
It’s not a new camper so we think we did ok. There is always something to fix on a camper. Yay! Enjoy your channel!! Congratulations on camping with family and friends!
I was like- WHAT? Then I was laughing hard when you guys were going to buy another camper! Congratulations on winning the auction! And those puppies are so cute!! And Tom’s comment- how do you get friends? You provide them a camper- priceless and so Tom!!
We bought living room furniture and a bedroom suite sight unseen from a friend's coworkers girlfriend. 🤷♀️ as newlyweds it was totally a good deal for us! We still use the living room furniture (couch, love seat, arm chair and coffee table) and after 5 years gave most of the bedroom suite to a family who moved internationally to our area and needed furniture. All of it was $900, which was an amazing deal!
I love auctions, but auctions on-line make me nervous! I always feel like I'm going to get sniped at the last second. Y'all are great together. You both have such mad building skills! The puppies are so sweet!!! Thanks for sharing with us! Love y'all so much! Have a great week! Jane in SC ❤🙏
We basically got our condo sight unseen! Best story… my husband rolls down his window and asks a young guy if he lives in the complex. Landlord could not make it to show it, and we only had 1 day to find a place being out of towners. The guy says it’s a nice place. We chat, and he invites us up to his place to see the same layout! We tell the landlord we want it and ask where to leave the deposit. She trusts us to the point where she gives us the lockbox code and we leave the deposit check inside the condo. It was lovely. Lived there 4 years. The young guy and his wife became our best friends.
Yes, we’ve bought two campers, sight unseen (other than the online pics). We’ve loved them both (we’ve had 4 total)
congrats. I have camper envy! We had a small camper with 2nd mattress on top of the truck cab. no bathroom but an ice box, 2 burners & a pump-facucet sink. We stayed in state parks with toilets & showers. my sis & I loved it but I don't think my mom did. She tolerated our outings. The positives were times spent together as family plus my sis & I could ride inside the truck mounted camper. as we traveled. We slept, read books played games etc while my parents had the truck cab to themselves with no kids able to listen to their conversations or listening to kids arguing. Those are sweet memories. enjoy your new camper!!!
Hey Dawn, we downsized from a fifth wheel to a small pull behind trailer. We love it! We have a 20 ft Geo Pro. We can park about anywhere and it is so much easier to pull. It has everything we need plus some great bonus features ie solar panel built in on top, outside black stone type griddle built on side of trailer. I think y’all are going to really enjoy the small camper 😊
We bought a 2016 T@B camper site unseen. It was listed on RV Trader. We saw it on a Saturday morning and bought it that afternoon. We had a friend pick it up and store it for us until we could get to his home in Central New York. Everything was perfect, the previous owner included a lot of extras and the camper was in great shape.
I’ve bought 2 different sewing machines on auction. The first worked like a charm, second was more “fancy “ and needed some help. Don’t regret it for the price. Hubby and I downsized our RV from a 34ft Motorhome to a 23ft Passport trailer. I’m almost surprised you didn’t go for a Murphy bed for the master. We love ours. Couch in the day, bed at night!
Hello from a fellow Minnesotan. I can relate about being a farm kid who was not cool. I am the last generation to attend a one room school house. While embarrassed to admit the fact, I now realize how fortunate to have had the experience.
We own a Rockwood mini lite 2109s for 8 years now and absolutely love it. It’s the perfect size to tow and we never have to worry about fitting in a spot. I will tell you that the smaller campers do go for a lot more because they can be easily towed by more vehicles than large campers. Congratulations on your camper!
I bought a horse sight unseen, I set a limit of what I would pay for her and had a friend that was at the auction bid on her. I got her for my maximum bid and she has been a great horse. I have 3 kids and lost my confidence starting colts after being bucked off many times. I started her under saddle and she has been a great restoration to my confidence. Bonus being that she's never bucked me off and left three children without a mother!! 😂
Love your channel. We are currently preparing to move from a 3000 sq/ft rental to an 800 sq/ft house we are building ourselves. I am doing a lot of decluttering in the hopes of being able to make the transition very smoothly!
When camping with kids, the fold out couch would be a perfect bed that the girls could sleep together!!!! I am SO jealous!!!
⬆️Text me📩above to receive reward thanks for watching❤️
I thought the same thing!
Both my dad and I bought some vehicles sight unseen on eBay roughly 15 years ago. He bought a 64 Chevy Impala SS convertible from back East (we live in San Diego) and I bought a Toyota 4 Runner from the San Francisco area. I was about 20 at the time and my dad and I took a train up there in the middle of the night to go get it because we only had 3 days to claim it. It was a great experience with my dad. We drove the coast back and just had a nice road trip in my new car on the way back. Both vehicles were steals!
I’m so glad you showed this one! I want a small camper but I was worried about the size. I think something like this would be perfect.
In 2017 we bought a 24 foot travel trailer hybrid for our family of 6. There are 3 queen sized beds. We have never once needed to use the banquet dining area as a bed. It was the smallest trailer we could find that fit us perfectly! The only downside is having to set up the beds as soon as you arrive at the campsite.
I appreciate your dilemma in finding an adequate enough RV to fit a family of 6, and one that can be pulled safely with your current vehicle. We raised a family of four children and financially we could only afford a small, RV. However as our children grew older we would bring along a tent and two or three of our kids would sleep in there and fortunately loved tenting. Now we own a 30 foot Sprinter, which is perfect for winters in Arizona. But we do store it down there, as after two seasons of towing it we decided enough of that. I hope this new RV purchase works out well for you and your family.😊 And no we have never bought an RV sight unseen
No huge sight unseen purchases for me and my husband. You guys are brave!
Our camper was an out of state purchase, I do regret how much I overlooked when we finally got in it. (Wintertime) bathroom took me an hour to detail clean. This camper is ours to enjoy but most of the season it is booked out for rental as a “side hustle”. Fun to see what adventures it goes on and the people we meet!
We have also purchased 2 motorcycles, a side by side, and trailer out of state. All sellers were very great to provide videos before the drive. My husband is always the “finder” and the ones I support the decision on are usually the ones that work out the best. The ones I agree/don’t fully support don’t usually last…bye bye side by side.
Cute camper! Happy future adventures for you, family and friends!
At the beginning of the video I was thinking that you guys should visit Indiana! I live in Elkhart County which is where all of the RV's are made. 😊 So glad you get to visit our wonderful state after all!
We didn't have pop in the house growing up either. So the most memorable Christmas present was when the three of us each got a case of pop. WOW! It was awesome. Old wooden crate of 24 glass bottles. We would make them last as long as possible. Then sneaky me, after a while I would take one of my empty bottles and swap it for a full one from my brother's crate. 😄
We recently did something similar. We purchased an RV from FL. My hubs is very much like yours, as in, he finds the greatest deals. He found this one online. We sought out a similar one nearby, in order to take a look, and we liked it. He bought a one-way ticket to Tampa, and the only thing he had to go on were the pics and a conversation with the owner. He bought it and drove it home. We saved almost 40% by buying it in FL! It’s also on the smaller side because we have the same mentality y’all have when it comes to just hanging out outside. Just need it for getting us there and sleeping. We also didn’t want to be limited where we could go because of our size. So far, it’s been one of the best purchases for our family, and we have ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS! Thanks for sharing your journey. I think it will inspire a lot of people.
My husband almost let me buy our house without him seeing it in person, but he couldn’t quite let himself do it, so he came for the home inspection. We were moving four hours away, so it was a lot of logistics with two little kids, him working, and we were expecting a third baby. Good times. 😄
I love small campers! We had a big 30’ and hated that we couldn’t camp in small remote places. We went to a 24’ popup and liked it but it was a pain to set up and down and it seemed to always rain. Now we have an 18’ 1969 FAN that we redid and it has 4 bunks, a bathroom and a bed up front. Similar to this one but add 2 more bunks with a bathroom in between. We love it. It’s light, easy to tow in small spaces and like you said our ideal is to be hidden, away from people. In nature and just a place to sleep. I adore our small camper. Family of 6 and we take our 2 big dogs along and we have a very simple set up with minimal “needs”. It works really well for us. We never wanted slide outs or anything that could cause more issues than campers already do.
We just upgraded our popup camper to a Keystone Bullet 1700bh. Very similar floor plan to this one you just purchased. We love it! It's perfect for our family of 4. I found great plastic baskets/bins at Dollar Tree (in the $3/$5 section) that fit perfectly in the cabinet above the bed. 6 of those baskets fit in the cupboard so we can each use one for our clothes plus we have 2 extra for overflow stuff! I spent a lot of time searching Pinterest and watching CZcams videos on the most efficient way to pack this trailer. Unfortunately, there were hardly any for this type of bunkhouse floor plan so I had to get creative and figure it out on my own. Our first trip was a 2 week road trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National Park in June and everything went so smoothly because of all the extra planning I did ahead of time :) And to answer your "question of the day", we buy stuff sight unseen all the time from online auctions and so far so good (knock on wood!)
I am always surprised the huge campers people pull all over the country. We live in Wyoming so we see so many coming in the summer. We’ve become so minimal for camping- we even skip the tent and just put a tarp up and bring comfy foam mattresses. My girls don’t always like to come and the boys love it. We have a side by side and load it up and head as far away from the main road as we can. We will buy a pickup topper someday for hunting season
I love, love, love your channel! I’ve been a follower for a long time now but recently started watching every single video when it comes out. In efforts to heal from some pretty rough anxiety and anxiety related health problems, I’ve gotten very serious about curating my feeds to only have content that is positive and uplifting. Yours just feels that way! So grateful for your content. Re: your childhood, going to auctions with your grandpa… I did the same! My grandpa went to a lot of auctions and craft shows and we would go along sometimes. We loved it and have wonderful memories! I think that kids now are missing out on something great, having grandparents involved in their lives. There is so much sweetness and wisdom to be gained from spending time with the family elders! Anyway, love your channel! Thank you for sharing all that you do.
Also, where can us single ladies find a Tom? Lol!! I think it’s safe to say that we all just really enjoy watching the two of you and the way you both seem to enjoy each other’s company, even after 4 kids and lots of life happening. It’s good to see!
My hubby and I spent 5 months last year living in our trailer going around the US. We started with a Rockwood Minilite 2205s, nice small trailer with a slide. We were one of those little trailers in the midst of all the huge trailers, toy haulers and fifth wheels. What we found was, we had more space than we needed and didn't even need all the stuff we thought we would! So on our way back home to Oregon, we bought a smaller trailer in Texas, an RPOD 192. We are SO happy with the smaller trailer, no slide. AND, that experience led me to believe we didn't need as much in our home as well, so I started watching you and am in the process of major decluttering!
I love the rapport the two of you have. ❤️ We sold our camper a few years back and have been staying in a cabin when we go camping (once a year. Lol) which we just got home from yesterday. But now you're making me want to check out campers! ❤️
We bought our last home sight unseen. Many happy memories were made there with children and grandchildren. Our son and daughter went househunting for us while we were on vacation. We only saw the interior online. No regrets.
Yes bought a pop up camper site unseen, never again! We did find our current one on FB marketplace and we’re sorta “blind” to the problems because it’s the exact floor plan and brand we always wanted and found so much that needed repair afterwards🙄. That being said we had the money for repairs and no water or structural damage. New awning, 1 window replaced, major fridge repairs and some other minor things are $$$$ later but we’re happy we have it! Of and we also replaced the queen mattress with a full length beauty rest. Only problem is it’s thick so a bit high but still way better than rv mattresses!Keeping it stored and in the best condition possible. The last one we left uncovered and it sustained much damage between the sun baking it the water making its way into the roof, so keeping them covered and watching out for problems is key!
Your kids will have the most incredible memories from their childhood. Love all the family centered things that you do!
We went to auctions when I was a child and my memory of them is eating homemade cupcakes. There was always a bake sale table and cups of lemonade lol Great memories :-)
Kudos to your parents for doing such a great job raising you! ❤
I don’t know of any greater gift to give children than a spirit gratitude for what they have.
Can't wait to see what you do with this one! It's very similar to our layout. We camped as kids & raised our girls with camping trips. We will all say that those were some of our favorite memories as a family! Now, hubby & I are talking about retiring, selling the house, & living in the camper for a while, until we figure out where we want to retire to. Happy campers & happy camping!
How wonderful you are to think of mom/dad, they know you will do it right. You are right, when you camp, you don't spend much time inside, I think some people think they need to bring their whole house with them. I will enjoy watching this new series, renovating another camper 😍💯👍
I can so relate to going to auctions growing up..the pop and hot dog were always the best part. Such a treat. Have fun making memories with your new camper.
Yes, I found the perfect house. I phoned my DH at work and told him I liked it. He agreed to the sale and hadn't even seen it. We've been in our new house since Christmas and we love it here. I've got the best husband ever. His motto is happy wife, happy home😉
Hi Dawn & Tom! Haven't been watching any videos lately and you two didn't disappoint! I live your banter and the farm looks great behind you on the deck! Happy camping and safe travels! Congrats on the puppies! 🤍🖤🤎
We bought our house sight unseen and it worked out great. Wouldn't have been our first choice but a family member walked through it for us and the offer was contingent on the inspection. Good luck with the camper!
⬆️Text me📩above to receive reward thanks for watching❤️
Dawn, you are so lucky to have such wonderful memories with your family. You and Tom are doing the same for your kids. You’re a very cool 😎 family. 😀
We have an airstream around 22'. We love it! It has lots of storage! My husband is around 6'1" and he can stand up in the shower! We use our for the same reason. We are outside most of the time! I agree with the mattress! We put a Tempur Pedic in after the first time staying in it!
May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
We bought a 1966 VW Bug from Los Angeles, California and we live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It worked out great! It was in excellent condition and my husband and daughter drove it home - 22hours/1256 miles. The previous owner was so surprised we were willing to do it that he bought us a new spare tire, fire extinguisher and some fan belts just to make sure the trip went well. I've been driving every summer for the last 13 years!
Yup! We bought our camper site unseen last year! It was a great deal and we love it!
I’m a bit older than you and I grew up similarly to what you describe for your childhood. Simple. Love it and have tried to have that for my kids, especially when they were younger. I think country living is just simple like that. 💕💕💕
Will you be getting her fixed now so she doesn't have more puppies, ? so many unwanted miss treated Dogs out there it's sad .Great vlog like usual 💐
We bought a house at auction. We were able to go inside and check it out before purchasing but we had several surprises! It was totally worth it and I would do it again:)
Yes! We bought our house I’m sitting right now! Worked out perfect.
Last week we bought a moyorcycle in Indiana- drove from Alabama to pick up. Very happy.
We have the Micro Minnie Winnie 1700BH. It's almost identical in layout etc. Although we only have 4 in our family, we love it and would highly recommend that size. Super easy set up and towing.
My grandpa always went to farm auctions. He was known by every farmer in southeast Colorado. His dedicated number, that he was buried with, was 5.
Yay to the small camper Dawn! My Tom and I have just converted our second vw transporter for our holidays and we made this one simpler and took less stuff with us! Im all about the packing cubes now 😆 It's so good to drive around anywhere you like with a small. vehicle.
I haven’t bought anything but I did move to a town sight unseen to live with my best friend from college and except for doing missions overseas with my family for 4 years I still call it home. Best decision I ever made!
My husband bought a house without me seeing it. I was very scared but he did an amazing job! I loved that house!
💕Our family of 8 lived in a 17ft caravan for 2 years while travelling around Australia. We had an awning/annex with sides and had two camp bunk beds in there while Mum and Dad and two older sisters slept inside. I look back on this as one of the happiest times of our lives. 💕
My grandparents rv had folddown upper twin bunks over the cab and the queen mattress in the back. You could make one over your bed. My grampa was worried about us falling out so they made a fabric rail with a metal pole that connected to the walls like a clothing rod in the closet. Worked really well. Good memories of that bunk bed.
My husband bought a pick up truck and a Walker mower from an online auction. He's been using the mower almost 10 years and the truck about 6 years. Great deals on both.
Enjoyed the video as usual ! I bought a condo sight unseen and it was
an absolutely awesome decision. grateful !
My husband drove from Kansas City to Colorado for my minivan last summer… I love it so it worked out!!
