To give an update on my progress: 5 years ago I started on the soprano and I have much improved since then.
Next year I am joining a saxophone quartet and I hope to finish the last/highest “saxophone-exam” that the music school I am at has to offer.
When I am at that point I could apply for the conservatory. Not sure if I’ll be able to/can find the time, because I am in law school now.
But I just wanted to say that, that this video was one of the decisive factors that made me go for it and play the soprano saxophone 5 years ago. And I want to thank you for that.

Soprano saxophone works so well for this because its sound here reminds me of the Hungarian tárogató - which evokes a Central/Eastern European traditional vibe to the piece.

Il faut connaitre l histoire des rescapes du Shoah de la liste Schindler pour être encore plus emu...un vrai chef oeuvre d interpretation.

I am still on secondary school and have enough time to practise since I atleast want to rehearse 2 hours a day. So I'll be alright with my time! And hope I have my A exam (1st exam in the Netherlands don't know if it works like this everywhere). In between half a year - one year. Greetings ~ Martin.

Ao escutar este tema, e o que o filme representa, tive que passar para pauta , manualmente, toda esta peça de soprano, fiz arranjos da peça original de violino, e toquei ao vivo sem qualquer acompanhamento na escola de musica que frequentava após acabar as aulas de Conservatório por falta de dinheiro.
É uma inspiração para mim, e para muitos jovens músicos que a escutam, é assim que deve soar um soprano, na musica clássica, e escuto, vezes sem conta esta magnifica peça e interpretação, só quem toca soprano sabe a sensibilidade que tem que se ter . . .

I also play Alto and Tenor sax, but soprano has been my passion since I was 16 years old.
When listening to this theme, and what the film represents, I had to put this whole soprano piece on the score manually, I made arrangements of the original violin piece, and played it live without any accompaniment at the music school I attended after finishing classes. Conservatory classes due to lack of money.
It is an inspiration for me, and for many young musicians who listen to it, this is how a soprano should sound, in classical music, and I listen to this magnificent piece and interpretation over and over again, only those who play soprano know the sensitivity that has to be to have . 🇧🇷 🇧🇷

Watch the movie😉, it's a war movie, and yes it's written to be heart broken. This is such a wonderful performance, but I mis the drama from a violin that snears through your bones.
it's just brilliant writing by John Williams...the man is a genius, always hits right in the heart..he's also the person with the most Oscars, he scored E.T., Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Hook, Kevin Home Alone...director Steven Spielberg once said, he couldn't have done his movies without him, that he's telling these stories with his music.
Awesaome, my reason to start with a soprano. I bought an YSS 475 || with an Otto link mouthpiece 6. What kind of ligature do you use on mouthpiece ?
Hi! It's a leather Rovner ligature. Otto Links are traditionally jazz mouthpieces so you sound will be quite a bit brighter than mine inherently.

she can't really do those long jumps to lower notes. The lower once sometimes even crack. But she's got a beautiful tone on the height.

Neither- jaw vibrato
