My beloved grandfather lost his parents, 2 sisters and a brother in Auschwitz in 1944, he managed to survive with his twin and another younger brother. The worked as jewellers and came to the UK via Denmark. The twins lived unlit their 99th birthday, the youngest was I’ll most of his life and died in his 40s. I saw this film on my own as my wife couldn’t cope with the storyline, my heart breaks for what we lost as a family and as a cultural nation. The sad thing is I can see us as a world heading back to those times of ghettos and it is still very much a world of them and us. This music score is a masterpiece and is as great if not greater than any classical piece written by the greatest maestro’s in history.
You are not alone wishywashy, there are many, many Christians like me who stand with Israel and the Jewish people. And yes, this music score is a masterpiece, heartbreakingly so. May God bless you and all God's people.
A twin, surviving in Auschiwitz…tricky
My heart breaks every time I hear this song.
Rob Durant agreed!
Mi corazon!!!
It always brings tears to my eyes when I hear this song. These men play this with so much feeling, depth, and heart.
Same honestly
Mine too...it reminds me of the movie, the senseless murder and loss of millions of innocent people; of man's inhumanity to other men. When will we ever, ever learn.
I've never heard anyone play like this before. There's just something about the vibrato and bow technique that really makes it seem as though the cello is crying
Oh my goodness I know what you mean about the cello crying!!
ArmaniGolla Right? No one else I’ve ever heard has played in such an emotional way.
@@beesaved3735 el violonchelo suena como una persona llorando desconsoladamente , sobre todo el tono agudo

I prefer the violin version. This one is too loud and lacks the emotion. My heart goes out to the millions who lost their families in the most brutal holocaust in history.
I believe that is one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. What John Williams did was the definition of a masterpiece.
I absolutely agree. There are no better words to describe, what John Williams created.
They didn't just play for an audience, they played for the millions of people lost their lives and suffered in some of the most tragic and ruthless ways imaginable. What an amazing performance.
This is priceless music. I lost two of my grandparents during Holocaust. May their soul rest in peace.
I'm sorry to hear that.
May they rest in peace. And may we never forget.
Peace be with you and your family.
Wolrd will never forget the Holocaust. ..

When Spielberg asked John Williams to write the score for Schindler’s List he showed him an early cut of the movie. Williams stood up and walked out of the screening room. He came back in a few minutes later crying and said “you need someone better than me to write music for this.” And Spielberg said “I know, but everyone better than you is dead.”
Thanks for telling me this thats cool
@@jihaneben4194 dammit what part of *better than me* didn't you understand!
It was the first - and last - time I was in a cinema where, as the credits rolled, everyone (and I mean everyone) stood and applauded. Then filed out quietly, no conversation.
Williams’ music made a huge contribution to that stunning narrative.
That is a wonderful story. Williams and Spilberg have a deep soul, two great men of inmense creativity.
That's an amazing compliment from Spielberg to J. Williams....wow....
I don't always get goosebumps when I listen to music, but I do with this song, every single time.
Try O Fortuna by Carl Orff maybe 😊
This song brings tears to my eyes, no matter whether its played on the cello, violin or any other instrument. It's just so moving..
The pain is sublime .. like the strings of cellos are crying. ultimate bliss
They are. The sound of nature, pure.
THIS REPLIES AND OPINIONS ARE SO INTIME AND SICERE.CELLO IS BEYOND ME
sumit chakraborty just over a month ago my brother drowned far from home. Cello was his favorite instrument - I feel every note, every second. It touches parts of my heart I thought do not exist.
Mateusz Głogiewicz i ♡ the way you HONORED your brother. I feel your pain. Never stop honoring him. Cello on and peace!
@@goldmanas absence de haine. ..être unifié. ....par l'âme
Christian, Jewish, Muslim, all get left behind. This music is pain described in its most sublime, most vulnerable form. I think the cello is better suited for this piece of music as the tone is deeper and almost lamenting in its plead to humanity. Remember what you did, don't let it repeat! I listen, I cry and I repeat.
Yeah, but this hits home for the Jewish communities
U can't left behind Jewish... That's what this music exactly about
Germany , the Architect of such inhumanity ..!. Even now it rears it ugly head. It is absolutely tragic, and that will be carried for eternity !
I know this piece was written for the violin, but to me the cello is the perfect instrument for this piece. It's just so beautifully haunting.
Yes haunting and touches the soul of what these people went threw and suffered

Agree 1000%
Two words. John Williams .....aka the man who wrote the music from your favorites like star wars, hook, most of the main themes to harry potter, ET, jurassic park, indiana jones, super man, home alone, tom sawyer, jaws, close encounters, dracula, war of the worlds, tin tim, lincoln, the BFG.... the man is absolutely incredible. A legend.
halley martin ... couldnt have said it better myself.. and don’t forget he also did Saving Private Ryan (Genius) 👍🏻
I agree with your thinking, he is magnificent, although I have a certain preference for Hans Zimmer, his subjects always move me to the point of tears (the theme of Gladiator, Interstellar, etc.), also Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings, Hobbit , etc.), James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, etc.) and there is more, really music can say more than words.
And did he write this song too? :o
halley martin Absolutely
Hardly 2 words. lol
Their vibrato is touching my heart..
I was struggling with vibrato while learning to play cello a lot 😖

Still love this amazing performance...in 2023!! Luka..Stjepan...you two played with your soul...thank you so much for such a beautiful,soulful...heartfelt masterpiece...I don't know how many times I've cried when I watch the movie...true hero and his sacrifice...
And John Williams wrote a masterpiece, Perfect, I cry Every time I listen to Schinders list. You got into my soul and heart. Thank you for writing what we feel inside.
There is no human to this. It is pure soul. What a gift we have in Two Cellos. I'm in tears. Such beauty. Bravo, boys, Bravo.
Stevan Pavitt it is very human. That is why it is beautiful.
It is exactly human... the pure evil, and the healing love. Human.
You have a point no human can create as much love as the soul and out god does
love this orchestra
How human to argue with someone's reaction to music.
Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire
I could have sold the car and got one more, maybe two more. The music and Liam crying at the end made me cry.
What has never happened? The Holocaust or the real-life German businessman Oskar Schindler who saved more than a 1.000 Jews from Holocaust? Both have happened. Maybe not as particularly as pictured in the movie, nevertheless I think you should be more careful or precise when saying such things. One could easily think you wanted to deny the Holocaust or what Oskar Schindler did.

I cried a lot when I first heard this music. I didn't know the background of this music at the time. When I watched the Schindler's List movie, I cried again. I had bought tickets for his concert in Prague long ago, but it was still delayed because of the Covid. Schindler was a Czech. I will be happy to enjoy this music in the Czech Republic. This will be the best moment of my life.
I confess that mine would be too...
I cry continuously hearing this solum music that brings me to my ancestors when they were murdered much like the Ukrainian people now..I am eternally grateful for the extraordinary magnificent talent and soul penetrating music
Just when I thought the violin gets in deep into your soul these two boys with the cellos go even deeper with one the greatest piece of music ever written and performed by an orchestra , god bless you all ❤❤❤
That cello is crying ..along with me,
of course ..This song touches the heart and soul.May all those who suffered so greatly rest peacefully in Heaven.
Yes, you are right.
That cello is crying along with me, too.
I feel goosebumps.
The passion and compassion shown by both the cellists and the cellos is spellbinding.
I was few years ago at the Schindlers grave in Jerusalem...it's a holy place truly...
He deserves nothing less then that movie and soundtrack as a homage
This is one of the hardest songs to play not because of the difficulty but because it can turn even the toughest of people into an emotional wreck it takes true courage to play a song that has such a heart wrenching back story as Schindler's list does well done gents
Stunning. If you dont feel something when you hear this, you’re just not human. This is a profound piece of music and they play it so heartbreakingly beautiful
Very well said... :)
And now Israel is doing the same thing with Palestinian Muslims....Shame on Israel.
This is so haunting so poignant, and yet so beautiful makes you cry and breaks your heart in two, the cello like the violin sounds as if it is crying, the soloists cellists and the orchestra make this melody more than a masterpiece bravo, as we listen to this melody we are able to look back at the horrific suffering of adults, children and infants, Mr John Williams is an amazing legend combining a melody that pulls your heart strings and creating pain and suffering in one musical note. may we continue to remember all those who suffered horrifically in the Holocaust God bless them all and may they all R.I.P, and may all the survivors God bless them all and may they all find the strength to FOREVER carry on with their lives .may we as a human society learn from this and make sure this NEVER EVER happens again.
Sadly this happens now too in China , N Korea , Turkey , Pakistan and many African & Middle East societies 😓

This music is beautiful. My heart is crying....
Wow. I love this piece because it literally feels as if the music itself is crying. The depth these celloist bring to it is incredible. Beautiful... just beautiful.
You can feel the sadness.....it’s haunting.....it permeates through the ages.....may we never have to go through that again....Pray...pray...pray
Can I just say wow? I have no words. The music and the musicians tell the story with just the expressions on their faces as they play the heart-rending music. This to me is the true universal language.
Oh my goodness my first time hearing this song played by these 2 unbelievable sooo gifted by God to play the saddest song in the whole world with such passion and love!!!!!!! I feel it deep in my heart ❤️ and soul in every fiber of my being!!!!!!! I do not know how many times I have seen the part where they both play together and it is really magnificent how they live the music.
They Play with so much passion 😍👍🏻🎻
CELLeO 😍😍👍👍🎻🎻
It should call emotion, not passion.
Emotions on their faces show that they are living in the music and music lives in them
A moving piece indeed...... you can hear the desperation, hopelessness and sadness invading the room, the cries of millions lamenting losing their opportunity to live, sad and yet so beautiful. This music makes you think and remember something we must never forget, a time when our humanity was in peril to disappear!
This song is very moving and when played by 2CELLOS I can´t help tears.Luka, Stjepan you are amazin artists. Thank you with all my heart.
They have so much character when they play. All props to them!👏👏
Undoubtedly one of the the best songs ever written for string instruments. So beautifully adapted for Cello.
Hauser + John Williams + Spielberg = one of the most spiritual experiences in a life.
This is what I miss today - men who live and show themselves with their entire hearts, express themselves, their feelings in whatever way - just by doing it, in music, in art, in dance anything - not in cars, money, cellphones, drinking! Where are you guys?
Thank you 2cellos for opening up classical music to younger people!
I found one. He s one of my best friends and he keeps me alive in this cold world. ❤
Each note is a lyric that tells a story. They sing it so beautifully.
This whole orchestra is a testament of what happens when you set aside that 1 hour a day for practicing whatever instrument is your passion.
you don't get to where they are with one hour of practice a day
28 years ago, I saw Schindler's List... and it really affected me very much to a point where I felt depressed for one whole week and couldn't shake it off.. even saw a doctor about it. I felt painfully haunted by the music especially...I have since then, tried not to think about it, or even watch it again or even listen to the theme music...Yesterday, I braved my emotions and watched this searing and haunting 2-cello rendition of the music... my emotions were still there about the movie but I am alright now... remembering what the doctor re-iterated is the lesson of the movie - "one life saved is a generation saved..." My father also said that since time immemorial, despite being God's chosen people, they have always suffered persecution, yet come out more resolved and resolute... I don't know if I could still watch the movie... I will take it one at a time but right now, I shall enjoy every note of this beautiful music. Bravo!
Why would you, an intelligent beautiful soul, watch a story that shows ppl killing ppl once more? If it causes pain, you wise soul says - no, dont. Its not for you. Its for those who is immune to this kind of pain and suffering. Leave with peace.
It took me 3 times to get all the way through the movie. My uncle was one of the American who liberated one of the concentration camps and he could never bring himself to see this film. You're reaction is normal to such a powerful film.
Always on verge of tears when I listen to this, and yet I'm smiling as I see comments in so many different languages. Great music is truly what binds and unites people together.
The strings are groaning and weeping, their sounds can be heard without words and without gestures to the depth of the soul and into eternity beyond.
My heart breaks, and the music is beyond beautiful.
Will never get tired of this music...speaks to your heart and soul...for all those holocaust victims lovingly dedicated to
...
Watching Stephan Hauser and Luka Sulic playing together is like watching Pavarotti and Placido sing together!
This music is incredible. It touches the soul. It must be in the history of our classical music not less than Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Vivaldi ... even more.
John Williams is pretty celebrated.

John Williams is just such an amazing composer. His music will go on forever.
just Beautiful
They'll be playing this for hundreds of year's such is its greatness,
As a musician, her musicality and instincts, phrasing, every moment resonates with every way I could imagine interpreting this treasure from John Williams, as if there really only one possible way to perform it. What a master of her instrument.
Cred că nu s-a inventat încă un cuvânt care să definească ce simt când ascult aceste sunete,note,vibrații...o piesă muzicală EXCEPȚIONALĂ!😢

And yes, John Williams is a master, a genius His music will live on forever and ever in our hearts and souls.
Without a doubt, one of the most important movies ever made. I made my children watch it with me, it conveys the truth that was the REAL Nazi.
When people call any American they disagree with a Nazi, the denigrate the souls of those that died in this, the greatest struggle between true good and evil in the history of mankind...
The movies are meant to paint people as good or evil. Real life is much more complicated. When you judge people as solely good or evil you forget and discount all the things that make them human in the first place. I ain't defending the animals who deserved what they got, just those who will forever be remembered as "Nazis" instead of what many of them were, scared Germans who knew that their lives were worth just as much to Hitler as those he called less than human. Wars are rarely started between good and evil, but thankfully sometimes good comes out of it. The plight of the Jewish people was something only really understood and known near the end of the war, and it certainly wasn't the reason anyone went to war in the first place.
And now Israel is doing the same thing with Palestinian Muslims....Shame on Israel.
this breaks my heart so deeply for those who lost a loved one during the holocaust and I have met someone who lived through the holocaust it broke my heart hearing his story about what he saw it changed my outlook on life for the good I'm so grateful to have alter Verner rip
