Hi Roy, did you save Larry’s life of something 😮 what a generous man he is. Crikey your dad is keeping up with the times switching his collection to digital 🧐 I hated The Titfield Thunderbolt when I was a kid but picked it up a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Sentinel is a very good film, great cast and solid story, nice one Roy, take care mate👍😃👍
Hello 👋 Alan. James,Larry and I have become really firm friends over the years. I like to think we're like the 3 Musketeers but more likely Last of the summer wine. 😆 Thanks mate 👍
Your dad has good taste in films Roy. League of Gentlemen is a favourite of mine - great heist film, with touches of comedy👌A long time since i saw Battle of Britain, but remember it had some amazing aerial battles accompanied by that unforgettable score by William Walton and Ron Goodwin; such an impressive cast too. A Bridge Too Far[1977] would make a good double bill with this; another amazing cast.👍
Lots of great pickups there Roy, and nice that your Dad's films can find a new home. I feel like I'm only vaguely familiar with The old man and the sea, but it sounds like something right up my street, so I'll try to track a copy down. Le Mepris is fantastic! You're in for a treat, and not least of which is seeing Fritz Lang in an acting role! (Even if he is acting himself.) I can never get over the age that Dustin Hoffman actually was in Marathon Man and the age he's playing, but solid stuff nevertheless. I'd like to see Chloe as well as it's directed by Atom Egoyan. Definitely not in Neeson's kick ass genre though!
Thanks Warren. Chloe had totally passed me by. I don't know why. I'm looking forward to Le Mepris and you've added to the anticipation. I watched Bardot in And God Created Women a couple of days and wow she was sizzling. It was easy to see how she was instantly labelled as a sex kitten after that.
Great stuff Roy 😀🍿🎸🎶 I been meaning to check out ‘Le Mempris’ for a while now; not sure wherever to get the 4K edition or just the Blu-Ray for that one 😊👍 ‘Marathon Man’ is great and I heard good things about ‘The Seven Ups’; I only had the drink 😂👌
Nice update mate, I really enjoy Chloe, haven't rewatched for some time. I agree those HMV premium titles do need the slip cases for me personally too. All the best, Ash
@roybarratt5609 Yeah there's always movies other people are so familiar with that some have never heard of 😄 one of the great things about the community, I got really stuck in to movies in the early 2000's so caught alot of stuff around there.
Your dad has great taste mate, been looking at picking up some John Wayne Blu-rays, my dad loved him and i always remember watching him growing up. Just put Big Jake on my list, not many of his films out on Blu in the U.K. Open range is fantastic, i think mine is Nordic release. I have Ronin but have not watched it in years, needs a re-watch. Can you let me know what you think of the War of the worlds 4K when you watch it, been eyeing that one, Amazon have the 4K of Invaders from Mars, eyeing that up as well. The Sentinel is not a bad film mate, i enjoyed it anyway, Thanks buddy.
Hello Mark. You can see where I get my movie lol from. I watched War of the worlds this afternoon and its a fantastic transfer. I falsely thought it was black and white so was really surprised when it was in technicolour
@@roybarratt5609 Invaders from Mars is another great Sci-Fi from the 50s, it has a 4K release in the U.S and Arrow were supposed to release it here last year but it never happened, worth checking out if you like War of the worlds.
Hi roy very nice gifts from your dad collection and what you bought yourself your amazing with film pickups 😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks John. 👍 I'll make sure my dad's stuff has gone to a good home 😃
