Caught this last year in IFFK and again from theatre this year when it released. It was the top movie from about 114 Malayalam movie I watched from theatres last year. If you consider it as a 2024 release, it is still my no 1 movie from Malayalam ahead of all the big theatrical successes we had.

Man that's a lot of Malayalam movies you caught last year! It's right up there for me as well, it was fantastic.

@@D54pod that's an average every year for the past decade.. last year was much lesser compared to 2022 as there were 7 releases every week and no show listings for most of the movies anywhere near to me..!! But yeah, this year I'm having better numbers and better movies as well.. !!

On asking how she knew it was Hari, Anjali says, "It was his awful perfume. I recognised it." But that reasoning also becomes useless because in an earlier scene right after the play is over, one of the guys comes and sprays Hari's perfume on every one of them. So now she can't say for sure if it was Hari. But it proves that definitely one of the men who got sprayed did this to her.

Great insight! Loved how the movie kept the audience in the world of ambiguity regarding what actually happened.

Yeah this movie was incredible. It didn't come out here in theatres unfortunately.. and it didn't even release on a major streaming platform. I think it would have done so much better if it did.

One of my favorites of the year but it was so difficult to get through because it gave so many moral conflicts. Really loved the open ending and how she says don't reveal yourself because for me, all of you are culprits...

Yeah it was awesome.. I think it came out officially in 2023, but yeah I only saw it recent on OTT. The ending was so great and I loved how she turned it into something positive and successful.

One of the best movies, universally relevant and could easily be remade into a Hollywood movie and still would do well. Just a beautifully written master piece story and makes you think deep about human motivations and behaviors.

Yes there are actually many debut Malayalam directors who made there start in short film. Would love for you guys to give some time to them as well.

You should check out Don Palathara's "Family". Family and Aattam are the best Indian movies of the year so far.

I have heard about this movie and I'm keen to check it out! I haven't heard many people talk about it though, so I thought maybe it wasn't great. Thanks for letting me know!

Except two people including her and the celeb actor in the movie named hari , rest all were part of an actual theatre group which also includes Vinay fort. The director wanted to make a movie involving all from his theatre group and that's how this started. So he knew everyone and wove parts of their real life characters and personalities into the movie characters . So the story script and everything else came way later , the casting was the first thing on which the project developed and the last person to join was zarin. Kalabhavan shajon who played the role of hari had to train for theatre plays coz he isn't familiar with plays and has only worked in movies predominantly . It might also be inspired from the 12 angry men ! The one liner was a group vs an individual , and over Time it evolved into a group of men vs an individual woman .

Incredible cast. It felt like a play watching it as well which is remarkable.
