My first listen, I was crying so hard. I could FEEL her emotions so strongly, in a way that I haven't felt while listening to music in yeeeears. And even now, listening to this again with you, I'm thrown back into those feelings. She's very musical theater at heart, and her in this video is just as impressive as she is ALSO an amazing actress.... And man, just gives me chills. And to think this is her DEBUT? At 17??? AAAAAND SHE WROTE THIS? Insane.

What's amazing about all of Olivia Rodrigo's songs is that you can actually hear her influences in the sound of each composition. She's one of the few, currently, who are able to do that.

I love your reaction to the song! I am 52 years old I have a 14-year-old daughter. She thinks it’s weird I listen to this song, she’s like mom you’re too old to listen to Olivia Rodrigo lol. I listen to Olivia Rodrigo because she’s unbelievable. Her level of talent is undeniable and she used to be on the show that my daughter used to watch on Disney Channel or nickelodeon one of those shows so I remember who she is from watching that show. now that you’ve heard the song I would love for you to watch her award show performance she’s wearing a long flowy red dress that was beautiful!

With only 4 songs released so far, Olivia Rodrigo is proving to be a fantastic song-writer and performer, capable of crossing over multiple genres. But you are going to have a tough choice if you react to Good 4 U, her latest single that has been trending #1 in recent days. Its pretty much straight up pop-punk, with elements reminiscent of Green Day, the early Paramore, and Avril Lavinge, and with some really good guitar riffs thrown in (that she wrote herself). It would have been sure bet to hit #1 in 2005 (when she was all of 3 years old) and may get pretty close now in 2021. So on which of your channels would you put it?

I love this song and Olivia Rodrigo is incredibly talented (you should hear the live stripped down version...wow), but unfortunately, this song does not represent the quality of the songs on pop top 10 playlists in the last few years, which tend to have simple, repetitive and hackneyed chord changes and are way overproduced and saturated with Autotune to make up for the deficits of the singers......but once in while, a gem like this song emerges.

Olivia Rodrigo is Filipina-American no one taking about Filipinos 90%-95% can sing in the country and singing is taught first by your parents and friend not like in other countries you need to go to a music and arts in HS or College. Give a Filipino a microphone and a beer or Rum 50/50 it will start singing! hahaha!
