Thanks, I couldn't figure out how to fix the lamp to the supports, the explanation in the instructions leaflet if not clear, but now I could do it thanks to you!
You're welcome!
I really needed to see this video. Thanks for making it. I could not understand how those little flanges were going to hold this light in place. Now I get it!
Perfect - the instructions just don't say enough! Thank you
I needed this video so much! It's a shame Ikea changed the design of this light, it was way easier to install and change batteries before.
Thanks! I needed this! Was thinking it wrong.
Oh very helpful video for me also, thank you very much!
Grazie!!! Stavo lanciando il led giù dal balcone prima di vedere il tuo video!! 👌🏽💪🏽
Man thank you so much for this! Way better than the instructions
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Done, thanks to this video. 🙌
Omg your king! I was ready to return these lights back to ikea. Your video help, ikea instructions make no sense
Too much helpful thank you 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Would be helpful to see what connects where at the unlit side to hold it in place - just keeps falling off
Thank you very much
янв 2024. А я пыталась за длинный конец зацепить)))
Благодарю, прикрепила после видео за 30 секунд)))
Thank You!
I had so much trouble with the clips. Defaulted to double sided tape. When time to change the batteries I’ll figure it out somehow
Thank you.
I just installed one, but those closing clips don't close very well. The light does not mount steady at all.
What is the range of these sensors? I.e. how close do they need to be mounted to the door?
how often do you change the batteries?
Aha….thanks so much - got to where the light went onto the fixing, could Not work that out as the instruction/diagram was unhelpful to say the least !
What sensor it has? Proximity? Motion?
Can I reverse the process where if I close the door the light must turn on?
I'm trying to install that light over my sink and cannot do it, I feel like the battery part is too heavy and it's not steady, every touch and it falls 😮 Clearly I'm doing something wrong cause that looks so steady!
Same... i have 3 and all keep just turning off after seconds
How do I take the batteries out????? I’m struggling
Hi! Does it turn on in an almost dark environment? We have a wardrobe at the end of a hallway, and there is no lamp close to it. This lamp could solve our problem : )
Yes it does.
Hey..I was wondering if the light works with bright environment such as daytime on the auto mode..
Yes it does also work with bright environment.
can it be on always ?
Any magic trick to make the automatic setting work? Simply doesn’t function for me. Have to switch on or off
Why doesn't the light stay on when I put it in the "on" position. After approximately 10 minutes the lights go out. Then I can put the switch off and then back on and usually it goes on but I want it on for longer. The batteries are new. Help!
That is strange, i just tested mine and left it in ON position more than 30 minutes and it didnt turn off by itself. Maybe try with new batteries and if that doesnt help then it has to be faulty unit, take it back to IKEA.
me too
Is there a mode where it doesnt rely on sensor and they continuously light up ?
Yes. But they are battery powered, so I hope you have a lot of batteries and/or recharger :)
Why didn't you remove the shelf before installing the lighting? It is inconvenient to install this way. The shelf is not fixed)
Thanks for pointing that out, yes that would of made the installation a lot easier :)
where can you buy those mounting clips? I have the lights but nothing to mount them with.
Search ikea spare parts, you can order them for free
The light didn't come on immediately when the right door was opened. It did once the left door was opened. Curious where the sensor is and how it is triggered. (Light, air pressure, motion?) Thanks.
There is a sensor in the middle of the device, just where 2 doors split. With a brighter day the light turns on with just opening one door. I suppose the sensor is just needs to detect more than a set threshold of light to turn on, it can not be adjusted.
@@simplehomediy8888 can you tell me why mine does not turn on? Just installed it and it doesn't turn on when door is opened
Same thing here, before installing it was turning on my my hand but after installing it in the wardrobe, even its dark, yet not turning on- total disappointment- Chinese product from Ali Express are way better
Mine doesnt want to close or latch on .🤔
Is it possible to turn it on/off manually? I need it for studying :)
It is! It has 3 settings: Automatic, off and on. :-)
My lamp is randomly turning off even if i turn it on… i dont know how to fix it
My lamp is turning off randomly, even if it is manually turned on. I dont know how to fix it. Can anyone help?
Instead of screwing on the mount things, could I use double sided tape to hold the light strip up? I’m renting and my current wardrobes came with my room, but they’re so dark. Just not allowed to damage the furniture 😢
i tried it first to see how it looks and it worked, probably just have to get a strong enough one
32cm - 0.22kg
52cm - 0.31kg
72cm - 0.38kg
i had the 32cm one
Trouble with tape is you need to recharge the batteries, which involves removing the unit to access the battery compartment, which frustratingly is on the side you attach to the wall or ceiling. So tape would work as long as you don’t mind replacing it every time you recharge, which for me would be a real pain.
How long do the batteries last?
Im using IKEA rechargeable batteries in mine and i recharge them about every 3 months. But it depends really how long u have the light on.
I installed it but the sensor isn’t working, is it because I installed it a bit far than yours?
Me too... Any idea why
I just don't get one thing why outside light to be there when I open the cabinet?
what if I open the cabinet in complete darkness, I feel still the cabinet light should turn on?
I don't think this relies on outside light rather on close proximity sensor...
You are most likely correct when i think about it, it must use proximity sensor.
How long battery last ?
I use Ikea rechargeable batteries and they last me about 3-4 months before i need to charge them again.
Is there a teardown video for this?
Too bad it doesn't work.
Bought one a while ago. The light didn't work at all on it. Returned it but took a new one. The new one worked for about two weeks. Then it stoped. Sometimes the lamp lit up if I stood and waved my hand in front of the censor. However, most of the time I had to turn it on manually. But now even that has stopped working. Changing the battery didn't help either.
Swedish junk products.
J'ai l'impression qu'il faut avoir un bac +10 pour installer ce truc.. Quelle galère, ca ne tient pas
This is simply misleading and confusing, why are you marking the screw at the wrong location?
before installing it was turning on my my hand but after installing it in the wardrobe, even its dark, yet not turning on- total disappointment- Chinese product from Ali Express are way better
