I remember being in the crowd on that day. I remember seeing Christian falling to the ground, the ball hitting him on the shin an just bounce to a standstill, not to be touched again before the match was so inhumanely continued. I stood on the stands beside a group of Finnish supporters, about 30 meters from it all. I remember the absolute sportsmanship of some of the Finnish supportes, throwing down a Finnish flag to help cover what was going on. I VIVIDLY remember the long and grueling minutes, in which no-one new his fate. The Finnish Fans chanting "CHRISTIAN" and us Danes answering "ERIKSEN", gives me absolute chills to think about it to this day. I remember what felt like every Dane in the world singing the national hymn, in a collective attempt to comfort our selves. AND the biggest cheer I've ever heard in person, when the stadium announcer announced that Christian was alive.
Everyone involved, the absolute and litteral LIVESAVERS immediately on the scene, the Danish national team for shielding Christian in his dire moments, the Finnish fans for their amazing sportsmanship. Absolute TOP people. Heros.
Uefa behaved appallingly throughout the situation should have been postponed until the next day

Iâm an emergency doctor, and I got emotional listening to Kasper get emotional, and describe it so eloquently.
Doctors rarely compliment each other (weâre a miserable bunch), but what the doctors and paramedics did that day, with the world watching, was pretty special.
The fact they got to the semi finals and almost the final is in itâs self is something quite amazing too after all which occur. Incredible story
To have a footballer talk about what makes a "legend" and seeing him in awe about what the medical staff did, it warms the heart. To hear him take a moment to reflect on the team doctor and what genuine pressure he was under...this was incredible to listen to.
I think everybody in the stadium and watching on tv thought Christian Eriksen had died that day, I recall that you could see through a crowd of legs and the defibrilator shocking his heart, Brilliant work from everybody involved, The referee for acting as quickly as he did and the medical staff who saved Christians life.
I had a cardiac arrest at 25. Took months to recover. So happy to see Eriksen back playing. Love from a Stokie.
Remember watching Kasper make his pro debut for Darlington while on loan, to see the career and life he has gone on to have is incredible!
Darlo always had and still do have class keepers, itâs a shame that weâre shit tho and stuck in the national league north

Been rewatching this episode so many times, Kasper Schmeichel is truly a legend. My favourite goalkeeper of all time.

What an absolutely superb human being Kasper Schmeichel is. I could not hope for a better leader, winner-to-the-bone and just utterly emotionally aware and sweet guy to represent my country. Oh, and he is also one hell of a goalkeeper. With Christian back in top form performing magic tricks every weekend, and an almost historic amount of promising youngsters coming through to boot, everything points towards a fantastic year of football for the Danish national team. If only the World Cup was held in a country with actual respect for human lives...
As probably the biggest fan of Schmeichel and from Denmark getting this perspective that we didnât get. I even watched the match at a restaurant on the big tv and nobody knew what was happening but we were so F***ing grateful of the actions of the players and medics to save Christians life. I thought going home I donât care if we get grouped just that he is alive.
Remember it like it was yesterday. Went for a walk just after it happened feeling so upset. Checked on skysports news on my phone and they put out the statement that he gave a thumbs up. Besides my daughter being born nothing has given me a bigger smile. Big up all the paramedics/doctors and both sets of teams for what they did that day
honestly , your podcast is the thing we all needed but didn't know we did! Absolutely incredible to be able to see things from a professional footballer's point of view.

I remember when this happened I was at a party, someone got a BBC news alert that the game had been suspended. We all thought he was trolling, until he said Eriksen was getting CPR and people just stopped talking one by one and looked at their phones to see the videos circulating on social media. Honestly I had tears in my eyes, I can't even imagine being in the stadium or being one of the Danish staff members. Some things are bigger than football
But the match was live on Tv

What a guy and a real legend of the game
I remember watching live. My nephew and his friend was round. My family gravitated to my nephew when it was live and his friend was alone. They both were distraught being young 12 year old lads. We had a BBQ at my parentâs house and I had to protect my nephewâs friend. He was alone in a âstrangerâsâ house watching a footballer fight for his life. I went over to comfort him and make sure he was okay
This is going to be an emotional watch for us all. It must have been emotional to be in the same room while he was talking about Erikson. I lost my brother to a heart attack 8 years ago so it bought back so many memories

What a tease, roll on Sunday.
Was a distressing incident when this happened, especially for everyone in the stadium and watching on live tv. I recall the uproar after when media channels didn't cut the live feed as it was seen as opportunity for more viewers. Hence the massive praise Denmark got for surrounding the Dr while giving CPR. So bit disappointed that incident was used as a tease clip for this episode,the team huddle as thumbnail and with a clickbait title. Maybe I'm just a bit naive about the whole media world and viewing standards outweigh ethical ones. You have a great channel that brings on great guests. Kasper being one of them. I would've watched the episode regardless of what clip was used for the episode so don't think you needed to try and gain more views through someone else's misfortune. Will watch episode anyway but hope Kasper was ready to talk about it as part of his own journey to recovering from seeing his team mate pass away in front of his eyes and that he is getting on well.
Cant wait for this one!
