I'm not a Leeds fan but I consider your club to be in the top 10 biggest clubs in England easily. If pushed to place you I'd say you're at number 5 or 6. You need a 60k stadium.

Just take out the seats, I have never sat down at ER. Even when the stewards were massive on it. I'd wait for everyone to sit down and then I would sing Stand up and sing for Leeds and everyone would stand up again. The death stare from the stewards were brilliant lol

I recall the new stadium plans under Ridsdale, when we were 'living the dream'.
With new P&S rules to be based on % of revenue, we need to improve our revenue (without increasing ticket prices) - so increasing capacity is a way to do this. Wouldn't support selling the name rights though.

49ers want the 20,000 to be middle-class fans who will be able to afford the £150 per match spend (tickets, food, drink, souvenirs). Local Beeston Dave will be priced out. Becareful what you watch for chaps.

Repeat what they did in 1968. Knock down the gelderd end & build much bigger end 20 or 30 ft back. Build new west stand to line up with pitch move towards new gelderd. Knock down south stand, now have room to build much bigger south stand. East stand can be chopped at one end & extended at the new Ne corner bit. Would be nice if they ripped out all the Es lower seats out as the leg room is a joke due to cost cutting construction in 1993 that put seats on the old lowfields terrace. Was a farce that. Hopefully they won't use Leeds based architects cus every single thing done in the past was a bodge. Eg: poles in the gelderd, poles in the south stand & the mentioned terrible leg room in the east lower. If they're gunna do it then do it properly please thanks 😁

there was once talk of new stadium at skelton grange in Ridsdale meagalomaniac days. Of course new stadium now would be unaffordable. so staged development of Elland Road is the only way... and it keeps the atmosphere.. Basically build another tier on and behind the West stand as they have done at Anfield (which added 8000 seats) and same with the kop plus the safe standing. You are correct about the Leeds being biggest city without a tram (although we used to have a wonderful tram system - thats what the wide central reservations on wetherby road and scott hall road were for (they also ran on A65 past horsforth and up to lawnswood. Like the discussed addition of a station on the wakefield line that runs by the stadium, this has always been for the future.

Thank God that didn't Happen! Remember been at Dennis Wise's first Match against Southend with my 10 year old Daughter because most of my mates had stopped going. Easy to get to from Bramley but if I had to make the journey all the way down there I probably wouldn't have gone. Think crowd was around 23.000 so if we build a 55.000 it's going to look awfully empty if we experience another slump.

@@gumbo7215 my comment addressed your point perfectly, it's the fact that some people want to support a team with premier competitiveness. Barnsley from my experience has a lot of Leeds fans, Devon a lot of Man U fans Why because young people do look to the prem. As I said great to support your local team (I do), but some people don't. In this group some dont want to support big spending teams whose chants include 'Yorkshire scum', this is the target audience. Leeds need to maximise this and Barnsley is a possible area. It's simple, keep supporting Barnsley that's great but unfortunately football money has buggered it for most. However Leeds despite never having great owners still have a slight chance of making it back and staying there and my suggestion is how theyd do it. The way it setup Football for the fans is not as good as it once was.
