    Recently my uncles lml had a Cp4 fail at 130k. I know he doesn’t maintain his trucks very well, meanwhile my dads lml is still going strong at 180k but his truck has an air dog lift pump along with aux cat water fuel separator’s. We’ve been weighing heavily on weather to go with the Cp4 system saver or do the cp3 conversion and we ended up going with the cp3 conversion. Our reasoning being that i couldn’t find anyone who had installed one of these savers, had their cp4 fail, and it saved their injectors and fuel system. Not to say it doesn’t work I just couldn’t find any evidence to prove it first hand. Secondly it’s worth the extra expense to take the time to do it when it’s convenient rather than have it leave us stranded when it’s inconvenient. Third it’s just worth that piece of mind to know its not going to be an issue. It will be interesting to take the old Cp4 apart tho and see what kind of condition it’s in, and if all the initial measures of installing the extra filtration, water fuel separation, fuel air separation, and positive fuel make a difference. I might take it apart and find shavings showing it was on its way out or it may show no evidence of failure. I’ll find out this weekend.

I am not thinking it will but great IDEA...... would be smart that to have a valve that once it senses plug up the high pressure valve goes off and lets the fuel out to a canister or something. that collects the fuel and shavings.

      I have the System Saver installed on my 2012 LML, now with 172,000 miles on the factory CP4 pump. I installed it because it was a cost effective alternative to a 50 state legal, no tuning required CP3 conversion. I'll get all the miles I can out of my original pump, and as long as the System Saver does it's job I'll have the option to replace the pump with either another CP4, or go with the CP3 conversion. I'm not running a lift pump, but I do use a lubricity enhancer at every fill-up.

    • @WCFab
      @WCFab  Před 2 lety +1

      Correct. To be clear, this part is an MPROP with a upgraded 25 micron filter screen design which offers significantly finer filtration levels than the stock 80 micron unit. The Exergy product also resists the delimitation or tearing common to the stock MPROP design which can allow significantly larger and more damaging metal debris into the fuel rails and injectors. This reduces the possibility of significant debris from reaching the injectors in the event of a CP4 pump failure. The only guaranteed way to prevent CP4 failure is to remove and replace that pump with a more reliable CP3.

    I love how your marketing this product as a product that will save your cp4, you clearly stated in writing on your thing that this MROP will prevent catastrophic cp4 failure and that's false, this will not save your cp4, maybe do your false advertising someplace else. People this only saves the rest of your fuel system in case of failure.

    • @WCFab

      Hi Cole, thanks for commenting on our video to help make us aware that our current cover text does not represent our intention with this video. We'll reconsider the wording used there to help make that more clear in the future. As you say, and as Jason also confirms in this video, Exergy Performance did not design this part to prevent the CP4 pump from failing. IT DOES NOT DO THAT. What it does is provide a dramatic improvement to the MPROP filtration so as to significantly reduce the potential for failed pump debris to contaminate and ultimately cause catastrophic failure to the rest of the fuel system / injectors downstream of the CP4 pump. It is the contamination of the injectors, rails and return lines into the fuel tank which makes CP4 recovery repairs so expensive, not the actual cost of the pump itself. To be absolutely clear, in our opinion, the only guaranteed way to prevent CP4 pump failure in these trucks is to completely remove it from the engine and replace it with a more reliable CP3.

    • @WCFab
      @WCFab  Před 4 lety +2

      Exergy has tested several complete fuel systems after CP4 failures where the system saver was being used and the rest of the system did not show any signs of debris that would cause any damage. I'm sure a day will come with the thousands that are in use where debris to some degree gets thru, but for the cost and the piece of mind this part will give you MUCH higher chances of saving your fuel system verses the OEM part. Remember its still a screen that FLOWS fuel, but any debris that COULD potentially pass thru would be so small that it wouldn't have any measurable negative effects on the components down the line for the short term that the components would still be operating for, before the engine shuts down.

    Don't waste your time with this thing, super cheap made in china junk. Just 3 weeks in and got a P0089 code and took it out to find the molded metal part around the screen was already coming apart (guessing because of the high pressure, not made for that) so would do you no good even if they just sold you the screen. Soon as i put the OE sensor back in, no more code. I bought another one a year later and not even trying you can destroy the rings that holds the screen with the lightest touch. Absolute junk, i haven't tried any of the disaster prevention kits yet, i've just been always using additives like extreme lubricity, better than worrying about the screen parts coming apart. If they were using the OE part (BOSCH 1462C00998, made in Germany part) and made the metal parts holding the screen better that could hold the pressure, i could see this working, but they're just using cheap china junk and charging 3 times what you can buy the Bosch part for xD, this is honestly beyond embarrassing.
