Brian and Alec, I've always recognized you are both amazing young men! So I'm not at all surprised after watching this vlog, I am even more interested and inspired to keep watching as y'all grow and build on your relationship. Married 33 years in June/24 to my husband, we raised 7 awesome children to adulthood, experiencing peaks and valleys we've been blessed to find value in both! I really enjoyed this Vlog, My favorite part was, what i call Brian Love Letter to Alec, when he said Alec makes him feel special, it's about the little things that Alec do for him, like fixing his lunch, no one has ever made him feel the way Alec makes him feel, i'm like wow LOVE This.

Agree 100 percent about retiring in America. As a retired black gay man, I am trying to find a retirement home outside the U.S. Yeah, the U.S is showing its ass right now. I am so glad you said that wow. I totally relate and to hear another black gay man say that makes me feel great.

I think when I get older, I want to retire in Jamaica. I visited once and noticed that a lot of the communities look out for one another. That would be different here in America. Moreover, once you own something in Jamaica, it's yours. Here in the United States, I feel like you have to work for the rest of your life, even after retirement.

Sad to hear NY is not on your list of places to live. I lived in Maryland for 28 years and never felt at home there; I moved to NY 9 years ago and wondered why it took me that long to move to NY. I don’t think I can live anywhere else but NY.

I really enjoy your channel. Thank you Alec for your response regarding the Bible and being gay question. "We" (encompasses everybody) were all made in His image, and before we were born He knew us. And, I 1000% agree with you that the Bible as we know it and taught from was written and re-written by man and so much has been taken out of context. Our orientation is not a sin, and I hurt for our brothers and sisters that feel that way....prayerfully they'll work out their own soul salvation. As someone who grew up in a Christian school that required us to do extra Biblical studies the consistent lesson that is taught is LOVE and as you said, that He made us in His image. I think some of us don't realize how selective many in history have been in applying the doctrine as justification for marginalizing others (sometimes even resorting to violence). Regardless, I still count myself as a Christian and that foundation I think has played a huge part in who I am today and the way I lead my life (regardless of who I love). If that is a problem, let that be between me and my Maker lol. It is my hope too though that others out there struggling with the perceived juxtaposition find comfort eventually.

@Alec and the PDA.My gosh,i can totally relate. Coming from a Caribbean country i totally understand. It's like we are prisoners to our own detriment sometimes. Even though we are no longer in that hostile homophobic society anymore,for the most part,in our minds we are still individuals who feels mentally entrapped. That particular one will take years of growing to get pass,and your spouse's support is so much needed even at times when it annoys him.I'm thankful as well for growth and the ability to remind myself of how important to love on ourselves first because no one else will.
Yes! When I came I really felt like I was in this confused place. It made me really ask myself some important questions. I always would tell ppl I’m a private person, and then when I came to the US I was like, am I really? Or was it just that I never felt like I had the psychological and physiological safety to be able to share my life freely? Then PDA really still is one of those things where I’m watching out of the side of my eye, especially being in Florida. You can be in a safe space and step out those doors of that establishment and then all of a sudden be at risk again. Still working on myself and as you say, loving on myself and giving myself grace in the process! Thanks for sharing!

I've been living in the,US over a dozen yrs and is still growing and learning;I'm much greatful that I'm in a space that allows me to LIVE.I understand fully what you mean about stepping out your doors and still can be in some danger though in the US.We just have to have that level of awareness up i guess at all times,and that goes for life and living in general.
