Thanks for taking the time for testing and making it enjoyable to watch.
I don't even need one of these projectors but always and watch and "like" these videos because of your in-depth reviews. Thanks!
Another fantastic review! Thank you for being so detailed and fair in the comparison. I felt feel the authenticity and seriousness of your reviews!
Great work - as always! Thanks so much for your tests!!
Great review! Canât wait for the ultra short throw projector reviews!
I'm really impressed with the quality and objectivity of the information. Well done.
This projector gets the job done pretty well. czcams.com/users/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
Great review! You are still the best all around tech reviewer on the interwebs. Nicely done, random internet guy.
In the market to buy a projector and didn't know where to begin. Your videos helped me a lot, for which many thanks!
Thanks for the time and energy for making this video! đđ
Brilliant video, as always. I didn't know about the power consumption, another great reason to buy a projector instead of a conventional tv.
Thanks! You said to me to wait for your review and this was great. Looks like the Nebula 4K is still the right one for me because of the portability, and this is for outdoor/grab and go.
Perfect!
what an amazing job and unique tests, friend, thank you so much!
Been waiting a while for this one!
I hope it was worth the wait!
Phenomenal comparison guide. This is literally the only truly useful video besides tech linked. Thanks!
Wow... very detailed side by side comparison !!!
Perfect video! Everything is perfect!
You are fantastic at this.
That's how you do reviews. đ
Amazing review, thanks a lot!
Thanks you.
I am thinking of BENQX3000i for now.
super great job reviewing.
Maybe the best Beamer comparison on CZcams! Thanks!:)
Fantastic review ...thanks...high quality information!!!
Excellent overview thank you.
Great presentation, thank you!
Just found your channel thank you for the detailed information.
I have the x3000i and it's amazing. The noise loudness and pitch changes based on refresh rate, so on 60fps it sounds kinda loud, but on just 50 it's almost quiet
As I said, I really think all 4 of these projectors are fantastic.
@@TheHookUp 100% and thanks for a super in depth breakdown. Just wanted to chime in, as in the AVS forums, some folks are complaining about noise, and some are perfectly fine, and I noticed that this a LOT to do with how fast the lenses have to move given the refresh rate. So setting the my Apple TV to 50hz significantly lowered the noise, and turning on the setting to match framerate with the content, most content is 24hz and the projector is super super quiet.
@@AlexWolkov "turning on the setting to match framerate with the content" are you saying on the apple TV, or does the x3000i have something like that?
@@christopherweeks842 on the apple TV, there's a setting that switches from 60fps to whatever the streaming service sends.
A great channel and great test
Thx u very much I had enjoyed ur work .
Saw your video and took a leap of faith on the Dangbei Mars Pro because I am an Amazon Prime member. Got it yesterday and the setup was super easy. Was able to use all the apps including Netflix.
Do you mean using the HDMI dongle that comes with it? Glad it worked out well, the picture is pretty great right?
Another great video! Thanks for the extensive comparisons. Are there short throw small form factor, good for small samples laser projectors? Sometime goo to take when traveling or use in van or RV and maybe outside of van or RV? Also, do the four here support pairing with a Bluetooth speaker system or would lag between video and sound be too great?
Would be so awesome if they supported bluetooth speakers. It would be so awesome he would be remiss if he didn't mention it. Lag only occurs in genuinely old versions of bluetooth and old bluetooth equipment. I wonder why they only have two hdmi ports on them. That seems bizarre to me.
I greatly appreciate the Wookiee sound comparison. Other reviewers just use English which doesn't have the same intricacies the Wookiee language does. Wookiee approved!
From looking at the Amazon reviews of the Dangbei, their support is actually really good.
I haven't needed support from them, but I've also read good things.
excellent information, thank you!
Great video đđŒ
This is so complet man great work thinks a lot
Dangbei Laser Projector is very popular in China. High brightness, smart operation system, welcomed SOC.I like it, and I hope the oversea users have the chance to use it and enjoy it.
What are some other projector brands that are popular in china ?
great test, but input lag while keystone correction would be good. Usually you wana keep the projector where it is after all
Thanks Rob.
Wow, Technical comparison to the Best....
Really like your reviews. Currently have the Xgimi Horizon which was a great introduction to projectors, but want to upgrade to 4k and brighter unit. Very tempted by the Dangbei. Amazon offering ÂŁ300 discount at the moment. Formovie x5 and Hisense C1 my preferred choices, but availability in uk and Chinese os are the downsides.
I have a screen porch that I am going to be putting a projector in, mainly for evening or night use, but I would like to be able to get some use out of it during the day. I am planning on using a VIVIDSTORM ALR screen (trying to decide between the ALR standard throw or ALR standard throw High Gain) paired with one of the XGIMI Horizon models or the Dangbei. Did you use an ALR screen in your testing? Has Dangbei had any software improvements since your review?
I recently picked up the Horizon Pro for only $1,275 so at that price I think it's totally worth it. I don't know about the others but this one does 3D which was one of my factor of upgrading from my Nebula Cosmos Max which is only a 4K projector. It's Horizon Pro is brighter and if you thought the sound of that was great on the video the Cosmos Max is still king to me a it has 4x10W speakers which sounds super nice. The sound didn't matter to me as I have it hooked up via optical to my UE HYPERBOOM if I really want to turn it up.
I think overall Xgimi makes better projectors then Nebula but Nebula has some standout features as well like their phone app which could create a mouse cursor if you need it. My next projector will definitely be 120Hz and up and maybe a UST but my setup doesn't call for that right now so I could wait. I will be looking into getting a portable 1080p 3D projector this year. It has to have USB-C charging though so we'll see.
Just got the Horizon Pro for $750 brand new. Prices are coming down fast these days. At 750 it's the best projector hands down.
@@andrewfreeman88 nice! Yeah that's a great price for this projector. I think I recently saw a sale on the Pro for around $1K or so.
I still have mine but I'm already eyeballing the Ultra but could wait for the prices to come down a little more.
@@volcalstone Yeah, I was thinking to get the Nebula Laser 4k but price is too high and I like the size, speakers and remote on the Horizon Pro.
What a legendary video
Awesome review as always. Curious you didn't include Xiaomi Mi 4K Laser Projector?
The UST? The Mi stuff isnât really meant for markets outside of China.
Any idea what kind of project screen should I use for one of them?
I am glad my choice is the same as yours ćœèŽăbecause I don't care about all the smart feature but the picture quality. I know how to mount without keystone adjustment which is the best way to install a projector. It hooked up with a computer and UBOX9 for tv those have all smart features. I am only using a 6in camera mouting stick to hang it up from the ceiging. I knew mechaniics so I amd not worried. My dangbei is projecting 135in on the wall which is covered with screen material. I could not make full use of it because my live room is not deep enough. But I am very satisfied for using it for both video and computer screen that I don't have to waring reading glass. I was thinking to get BenQ 1300x because I though it may eliminate the color wheel. I'd like to hear your opinion. BTW. this video the best for projector review I've ever seen. The projector I have been using is LG PF1500 that I like it so much. But with the extensive use(over 10hours daily for more than 5 yrs), the dead pixels are showing.
This is a really great review. It gives so much information. It seems like all of the projectors are great at something and none of them is perfect. At the price point, I'd stick to a Tv.
TVs are still the way to go for anything 85â and below, but youâd be amazed how much bigger a 120â screen is than an 85â.
@@TheHookUp An 85" TV is guaranteed to never ever produce RBE, unlike any of those single-DLP projectors. No matter how fast the color filter wheel rotates or the lasers in sequence flash, there will always be RBE. In this sense, it is better to stick with a TV.
@@noe3024 it is better to see this projectors by your own eyes.
No burn in with Projectors.
To add, I liked the Nebula Laser allot just having that handle hang from the ceiling would be so odd. They should make that handle removeable, and add a few more mounting locations on the bottom, and I would have went with the Nebula.
"Allot" is not a word "a lot" is what you mean đ
Hey I am currently looking at the BenQ W1210ST Full HD Gaming Projector with 20W Speakers and was wanting to get your thoughts on it please as I havenât seen many reviews
Dude fire đ„
Love the Video but where was the Viewsonic x10-4k ? Ive got one and would love to have seen it go up against them as its a solid projector in the same style.
That would have had significantly lower brightness than these. 2900 LED lumens is about 1200 ansi lumens.
Please review for 3 laser UST, traditional single laser is on the way out, Iâve been looking for 3 laser HDMI 2.1 eArc.
I have a UST video planned that will have a few triple lasers, not for a few months though.
I hope you do a comparison like this on Ultra Short Throws. I'm definitely looking to buy one and your very knowledgeable about this stuff.
That's on my list of videos to make, but probably not for a few months.
@@TheHookUp aw no problem. I will likely be picking one up on prime day. I will still watch it though. Love your videos man!
Iâm not sure how much it will go down on prime day, but the Optoma p2 has been crazy on sale lately. I picked one up for $1750, which is an absolute steal.
@@TheHookUp That's the one I've been recommended from a few people. I was thinking I might do that if it gets even cheaper on prime day. 3000 ansi lumens I think might be the minimum I need. I'm using an outdoor dual view screen for rear projection on my patio. I bought the screen already still researching the projectors.
Can you manually switch on 3D on x3000i ? or it auto detects 3D content ? I use a Roku and use USB drive to pay 1TB worth of 3D content .mp4. I use a older gen projector and having trouble upgrading.
I purchased Benq TK850i and end up returing it. When I play 3D content from USB through Roku mdia player, 3D button is grayed out. No manual option to enable it. Can you please test that as it will be of great help.
Any warranty information? Epson so far seems 3 years what about others. Measure Ansi you the best reviewer subbed!!!
Just ordered Dangbei. Was between that and horizon pro. they were the same price on sale but your review helped me to chose Dangbei. Definitely had the best picture when you were showing them side by side. And have a fire stick so the smart features arenât a problem. Hope I am happy with my choice
I'm guessing you will be, the Dangbei looks fantastic.
VocĂȘ ficou feliz com a sua compra?
Hi Mr. , Are you Happy now With the Dangbei ??
Got a dangbei myself and fire stick. Any luck being able to control volume of the unit using the fire stick remote? All other functions of the remote work except that. Also notice upon setup firestick setup that dangbei wasnât recognized and had to select the ânot listedâ option.
@antonioalcaraz6820 I got PS5 not long after the fire stick and change to that and also using a sound bar. No issues
Do you have any more info on the replacement QS01 stick? like release date, specs and what not. I like the stick since its much easier for my wife to use the projector without needing to switch inputs and receiver settings or anything, but would be nice to get netflix, and maybe better performance.
In my emails with them, they cited "supply chain issues" and said they didn't have a set date for it.
What would you recommend below 599 and something I'd want in my bedroom?
do you have a comparison between optoma uhd35x and dangbei mars pro
Great test!
Seems to me very strange that since 10 years, projectors losts pretty much all their optical capabilities, switching to electronic correction.
My 10 years old projector is 1080P, has lens shift and proper zoom... and most of all, no subwoofer to destroy the image during intensive bass....
Agreed. I'm running an old Epson TW2900. It's 1080p, has both horizontal and vertical lens shift and I can get new lamps for it from Aliexpress for around 30 euros, shipped.
yup, same, My old Panasonic pt-ae1000u has a large electronic controlled optical zoom, as well as a good range of vertical as well as horizontal lens shift. Had to use projector centrals calculator while looking at new projectors to be sure they would work, and the x3000i JUST fits my 120" screen at 13' 1", any further back and it would be too big for the screen.
These PJs today are overpriced and underwhelming by 11 nautical miles, it would seem.
To be fair despite this video saying these are "high end" projectors (it's a great video despite that), these are far from high end projectors. These are very mid range (even lower end depending on how you look at the market) and slanted towards being more portable so they have fewer features than more traditional projectors that are still being made and are great quality. Projectors have in fact been evolving along that normal path alongside both these more portable themed ones and the massively expanding high end (meaning at least double most of the price of these) Ultra Short Throw projectors which are getting quite good as well.
My Optoma that I got in 2014 still works but it's not smart and is lamp based and I sure as heck don't want to move it at all. Way different then a portable and more sturdy lifestyle projector like these ones.
Great video, I upgraded from my Benq HT3550 2000 ansi lumens to the Dangbei. Wow this thing is bright! It was pretty easy to set up, not using any of the smart functions what so ever, as I have a surround system. Picture pops in Standard mode, other modes not sure. More detailed than my Benq and more quiet. I will miss the picture options of the benq, as I like to tinker with picture settings. Memc is the soap opera effect, and it annoys me, so I have it off. Looking forward to getting lotts of hours on this and not worrying about bulb life. Thank you for the video! Cheers!
Is the Danbei still looking good?
@@dbbfishing2528 Yes it is!

Yes! it's definetly worth the money if you have 4k videro, games, or anythign else
Oddly enough at the fan portion, listening to this video with airpod pros, I thought the video paused until the benq came up. I didnât hear a thing from the fans until that point

Can you do short through projectors?
It is on my list of videos to make, but probably not for a couple more months.
I'd really like to know, how the input lag is, on the Dangbei...
I'm very impressed, that they can produce a better picture quality, without the knowledge & money of benq!!
46ms of input lag for the Dangbei, totally acceptable for 99% of gaming applications.
@@TheHookUp Add another ~45ms for the internet connection...
Could be a slightly disadvantage in competitive shooters, but should really be alright for almost anything else...
I hope this is not a one hit wonder and they start getting even better!!
Already a must have for that price!
Confirmed. X3000i is the best one for me, especially since I liked the piture the best and it has the lowest lag for games.
Awesome review! Does the Horizon pro 4k really have 4 screw threads at the bottom for a traditional ceiling mount? You are the only person that has ever mentioned that and I would like to verify before making that purchase. Thank you!
Yep, just unscrew the leveling feet that come with it and there are standard metric threads to use with a mount.

What about the Projectors from LG/Samsung/Epson....etc...
After months of consideration on and off, and watching all of your projector videos (and other youtubers) I finally made a purchase. I have never owned a projector, and don't even have a TV, so looking forward to get my hands on this for both casual entertainment and art projects.
Thanks for the great videos!
Nice, which one did you go with?
â@The Hook Up The Xgimi Horizon Pro 4k. Although it's not as bright as the other ones reviewed in this video, I think it will be good enough in my home. I like the easy setup and ability to move around, relatively quiet fans and good speakers, small size and smart functionality. Pretty well rounded for its price!
â@@TheHookUp The Dangbeng looks very interesting! But from my findings it still is difficult to buy and ship to Sweden where I live (without getting very expensive extra costs).
I actually just installed a Horizon Pro in my bedroom, a great little projector. I'm using the Dangbei outside on my patio, the brightness is really impressive.
@@TheHookUp Nice, great to hear!
I had to literally freeze the video at the 40 sec mark to respond to the very first thing you said if I'm going to dump money on Tec I need to know exactly what the difference is, why the price Gap and gimmick or actually does something. A perfect example is the Samsung 55 in 7000 series or the 55 in 8000 series the TVs look identical but like you fine sir I had to know, with $100 price difference if someone purchased the 7000 series or lower they basically ripped themselves off badly should have went for the far superior 8000 which is where all of the super features begin. Your Channel is spectacular thanks for the knowledgeable content.

The thorough evals on this channel are a testament to this gentlemanâs ability to properly research, demo and distribute. Top Notch Work!
Some food for thought/discussion:
The physicist in me grows weary when I see a projector with inherent speakers, especially a subwoofer.
Projection devices are expected to have inherent vibration protection; insulation-specific hardware and software in order to help nullify picture quality deterioration, caused by the device itself & external ambient vibrations.
The addition of an internal âsound systemâ is not necessary, in my opinion. I think using a wireless Bluetooth (5.0+) surround sound system would be best overall for any projection system, static or mobile.
Just my $0.02.

what happen when the lamp reach it lifecycle and die off? will there be spare part to swap out the faulty one or we need to throw all the projector away?
25,000 hours / 5 hours per day = 5000 days. Even if you watched every day for 5 hours the light source would still be good for almost 14 years, which is far beyond the typical life cycle of a display.
The Mars Pro has a gaming mode that promises 20 ms latency. Can you confirm and at what resolution/ frame rate?
My latency tests were done in gaming mode, I was not able to achieve 20ms.

I am planning to buy an XGIMI horizon. It will stand on the side of the room at an angle of 30° to the grey wall (screen). Do you advise taking the FHD or 4k version in this case? I don't know how much resolution the projector will "lose" for the adjustment of this 30° and I'm confused whether to pay extra for 4k....
I have a good price in Poland for 4k - the seller gave me a big discount.
At the moment I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference between 4k and FHD resolution at 100" screen from 5m. The internet isn't that fast either (I use LTE) - hence my confusion.
