  • Woodburning or pyroengraving is an art medium that is both fun and relatively easy to learn. I mainly woodburn dried gourds, but I happen to have a cousin who is into woodturning. Lucky me! I used one of his bowls and decorated it with a sunflower and the Bible Quote: "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord." In this video I show you step by step on how I did it.
    Primary Supplies:
    1. Woodburner with a universal or writing tip. Hobby woodburner from Walnut Hallow is a good buy. In the video I use Everglades Patriot from www.arizonagourds.com.
    2. Wooden object, I used a wooden bowl made from an Ash tree. Think about wooden cutting boards, plaques, spoons, boxes, and so on.
    3. Memories Ink Dye in yellow, orange, and green. I purchase mine from a gourd supply store: gourdsupplies.com/Memories-Ink...
    4. Polyurethane or similar varnish/sealer.
    5. Original Sunflower pattern: bernadettesgarden.blogspot.com...
