I was on statin in 2014 for about 10 months I went cold turkey. Its was my decision because more medicine is only band aid not prevention. I choose alternative options for my own health and with less side effects, not even every day meds that we buy at drug stores. I saw my mother and other family members going that route, it’s not what I want for my life. Our bodies make cholesterol and our brain needs it to function better. To say all that, we’re what we eat therefore eating healthy is very important. I make my meals daily from scratch, my health is very important so I try and treat it that way. I’m 75 years old, my mom at 72 years couldn’t do half of what I accomplished in a day. I say our health is important it’s our wealth.

@@andryiad9467 I’m sorry just getting back to you. Each morning on empty stomach I take 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. I do only have two meals daily. Very limited snacks only, to get my daily intake of what my body needs, I payed attention to what I’m buying. My first meal is my biggest, that always depends on how hungry I’m. My pantry has Teff,Amaranth,Quinoa, Mellet and Old fashioned Oat I like steel cut also some rice. I ❤️ my cheese but I mostly prefer goat’s and sheep’s cheese because it’s better my guts a small portion of cow is ok. I like kefir also goat’s some cow, kefir is good when having some granola with berries and apples. Hemp and flex seeds for my smoothie and porridge. I used a lot of mushrooms also dark leafy green, cabbage mixed of green some more other, onions, garlic, ginger and turmeric all fresh. Only I used are coconut, olives oils must be extra virgin olive & coconut oil’s. all my fish must be wild salmon, mackerel, fresh cod’s and tin tin sardines I can’t get enough them. Liver few times a month when I can find it at my health shops, beefsteak, ground beef, chicken and started eating bacon again and that’s my treat. I eats lot of eggs more than 2 dozen a month about 2-3 a day not every day it’s best protein for low income person. Here’s something I use is butter, my meats and dairy products are all grass fed and the rest are mostly organic. I enjoy my sweet potatoes and potatoes but sweet potato is first. The two nut I used is pistachios and Brazil nut, for eating Brazil nuts I have only two days it’s like taking meds too much is bad for the body. I make bone broth twice a month and freeze half for other meals. I do eat bread, and usually use almond butter for extra protein for my smoothies and cereal when I make them. How can I forget the good old avocados 🥑, I will put a piece into my smoothie with ginger and kale.🥬 Blessings always 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Great topic! I don’t like statins. My husband experienced side effects, elevated liver enzymes and high A1C. He had to take insulin for a short period of time. He was not diabetic but since then has be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. As a nurse, I had challenges with his provider because he was refusing to stop the statin. Even wanted him to continue with the insulin after I got his blood sugar to manageable levels. Needless to say, I stopped the medicine and found another doctor to care for my husband. People need to know more about the side effects. Thank you! I’m loving these presentations. God bless.
