Whatever, It's nice to hear when you say so.. But practically South especially Tamilnadu has more culture to it.. People have weightage towards morale when compared to North... North is more inclined towards westernisation and glamour... People of South are comparatively warm and social. You hardly see people being biased... You also hardly see a political party which is communally biased like BJP winning here.. I feel most of Northies have less emotional quotient... As you are not based out of Tamilnadu you have a shallow liking of both North and South... A typical Tamilian would definitely confront you...

There are so many North Indians out there who still believe Hindi is our national language. I've personally faced sarcastic comments, mocking me for not knowing Hindi. No offence but when they keep parroting this, it pisses off tamizhians because, Hindi is a language formed in the last few centuries whereas Tamizh is an original worldly language of great wisdom, an advanced ancient civilization which goes back many thousands of years. Every South Indian language has it's deep roots and age old literature. You wanna preserve 'Unity in diversity', then respect our languages and culture.

North has seen more tragedies than South. Partition of India was basically partition of Punjab and Bengal. It has seen invaders after invaders, who looted many Temples and burnt many ancient University of North. Still even after 1000 years of foreign rule( First Islamic rule then British), everyone failed to convert them on large scale. There is no other society in this world which has not converted after such a long period of foreign rule. That's the resilience of North which is hardly appreciated. Yes in doing so, many things have mixed up in North. Like food and clothing have lot of Iranian, Turkish, and central Asian influence. Now we celebrate this cocktail of culture.
And we must not forget that major religions like Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism have their roots in North.
Plus Himalayan states(North and Northeast) are very Environmentally concious and rank high on Happiness Index.

@warlike tiger 'Dravida' is a word which was first coined by Adi Shankaracharya when Mandan Mishra asked him "who are you?". Adi Shankara replied: "Draavida shishya". Dravida is an addition of 2 words in sanskrit which means Dra and Vid which translates to the place surrounded by water on 3 sides which basically is the peninsula of South India. He was a student of South India. That's all. The 'indic' cultural narrative that was allowed to continue to deeper levels of documentation in the south was unfortunately prevented to continue over long durations in the North because geographically it was more prone to violent invasions. The continuity difference between N. india and S. india is only because of that. So support one another.

The reason why the southern region was less invaded is not only because we were protected by the sea but also our kings did a good job. They ruled the seas that time and Rajendra chola conquered the south east asia. Chera, chola, Pandiya and pallavas (Kerala, Tamil Nadu and parts of Andhra and telengana) marriage happened within these kingdoms and they had a strong bond.. they fight and quarrel among themselves and have the who is stronger match among themselves, but when threatened from external forces they unite under one leadership (whoever was strong at that point of time) and they fought together and kept their lands intact. So for more than 1000 years united they stood and flourished in arts and culture.. even now compared to the rest of India they stand apart cause their ancestral culture was not disturbed much.

This video was briddled with Grose genralisations. She was trying to hide stereotypes behind fake facts or as I like to call "bullshit". You want to compare nature compare all southern states with Uttarakhand, himachal, Jammu and Kashmir laddakh... I won't even name Meghalaya or Arunachal or Assam or Nagaland cuz idiots would say that is east, No it's not bengal and Manipur might be east. I don't really wanna get into this bullshit. As far as education goes sure Kerela might have a literacy rate of 100% on papaer but once India's growth rate was 9-10% didn't mean everyone became millionaires.
If education has done such an amazing job in Kerela than why are people cutting off hands of professors and why are women being stopped from entering temples.
Being non educated doesn't make a person stupid and being educated doesn't turn someone into einstien. It's quality of education that matters.
This is a stupid video with zero facts. A nation has its strengths and weakness. It's positives and negatives, and they exist in all corners of that country.

I agree with her in terms of how south was less invaded hence we have a more continuous culture and history. But it's also because of the southern empires. They were very powerful but they had little intensions to expand northwards and often had truces with the northern kings to prevent any sort of invasion. besides the southern empires were very advanced in terms of marine engineering and navigation that they were able to defend or conquer certain parts of the ocean and even far beyond. At a certain point of time their is influence was spread as far a Seychelles ( or somewhere there ) all the way up to Taiwan. hence the merchants and traders felt overpowered by their much advanced techniques and much larger vessels. However the collapse of the empire created huge power vacuum in the region hence broke apart into small princely states that fought among themselves and hence colonisation followed. But the collapse of the empire also created the matriarchal structures in places like Kerala as generations of men took of to the war and died their hence women began to gain more power. Their was no marriages like we have today instead women had sambhantham, somewhat like a courtship but they have kids but the father has no right over the kids . Southern history is very interesting if you know about it.
PS . I'm really passionate about this so if you wanna know more about southern history hmu anytime

It is not that natural resources were taken only from the North. When our country was colonised, it remaind a British colony for more than a hundred years. They drained us of our resources. Irrespective of being North or South India, they took our resources to make their country richer. Our country was very rich. In a tamil text, it is said that so many pearls were collected in the pandya kingdom that they used to be kept as heaps. But today we don't find any of those resources. They forced our farmers to cultivate cash crops like indigo to dye the cloth produced in Manchester and the soil lost fertility. There were not enough food crops to feed the people of the country. There was a horrible famine that people were dying in millions. Our India was a very rich country though in today's world it is being called developing country.
