Vijay Sethupathi is such a genius. He is so emotionally available as Rick puts it. I loved the scene in Super Deluxe where he fights the policemen. That movie is a classic! And that scene was iconic on many counts. Just the physicality of this huge guy, in uncontrollable rage, and five policemen couldn’t hold him down. However the sudden ‘poof’ finish is what stuns us. It is a priceless gem that not many would have got. A cultural reference that is so hard to explain. That’s what Vijay was talking about. You can still appreciate the tremendous acting but the understanding of a subtle cultural nuance elevates the whole experience.

One of the best actors in Hindi cinema : Balraj Sahni, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Sanjeev Kumar, Dilip kumar Sahab, among many others. There was a movie of Sanjeev Kumar - 'Naya Din , Nayi Raat' (which means a new day, a new night). In this movie he performed nine different roles and interestingly, not only he did excellent different kinds of acting in this movie, but also his accent was diffent for each role. This movie far exceeds the superb acting of changing roles of Nicolas Cage and John Travolta in movie 'Face Off'.

Definitely it's normal, you either influence them with the way you speak or pick up their accents and nuances. Sometimes this happens both ways. ✌🏼

Did you completely miss the lady’s opinion sitting next to Alia? She is Parvathy thiruvoth, one of the best actresses in the country and have a special jury award last year just because the jury decided to give best actress award posthumously to Sridevi. You must watch “take off” and “Uyare” which is in Netflix.
You guys get it as far as the diversity and culture changes within each state and region in India. Wish more Americans and foreigners understood this.

May I suggest that when you see a trailer pop up, you contact a few of the actors, perhaps the director, the screen-writers or the music directors with whom you have become familiar, and see if they are willing to do an interview. This might also work right at release time, when they are all busy trying to sell their movie in all regions that it is released.
I think there is great opportunity for you to connect with Indian cinema. You might even, if you are willing to drop the hints, to get a job in a movie or two. It won't hurt to be in Mumbai for a few days hanging out at the right places. :)
As to your understanding of the wide differences in the states and regions of India, you guys have come a long way.
Something to keep in mind: The world maps we are used to seeing here in the US not only place the US at the center, but the maps are also based on old nautical charts that attempt to turn the 3D globe into a flat 2D map by adjusting the depicted distances between the latitudes. This serves to make the northern countries, namely western European countries, to look much bigger than the countries closer to the Equator. This made for some inflated European egos, I'm sure.
So, India, the sub-continent, and the country India, are in reality much bigger than is shown on the world map. All of Western Europe, if you add up the square miles or kilometers, can comfortably fit on the sub-continent of India, even inside the now country of India. There are 6 countries on Earth that are larger than India, but none are in western Europe.
Add to that the tens of thousands of years worth of culture in the various corners of India and you begin to gain an understanding of the actual distances and an understanding of the cultural diversity encapsulated under that one name, India.
