    I love the wide variety of women in your videos! Love all the skin tones and ethnic backgrounds. It really proves that Kibbe's system celebrates the individual's inherent beauty, and doesn't stick to stereotypes of appearance for each ethnic group.

    I am the first flamboyant natural exemple, I have send some photos to Merriam thinking I was maybe a dramatic with some softness and a natural jawline. Turns out my "softness" is in fact my "bluntness" !
    I didn't think I coule be a flamboyant natural because of the celebrities exemples ( I am not a top model, and not an athletic hollywood actress).
    So thank you for showing other people with different weights, body shape, simpler make up and hair etc, but a similar bone structure. Very interesting !

      Thanks so Manon much for modelling for us. Like you i thought I couldn't possible be an FN because of the supermodel thing. I also have a narrow waist and slender lightweight arms and wrists like you -- which I used to think would eliminate the possibility of FN or Natural. I'm much clearer now.

    FINALLY naturals with thinner waists, now seeing those i can surely say i’m a natural. i can’t choose between soft-pure-flamboyant though, my excess weight is confusing me. i look better in FN lines but my vertical line is moderate.

    • @rexysmith4029
      @rexysmith4029 Před 5 lety +31

      Im flamboyant natural and I am envious of other type because I always felt that I don't look feminine because waist emphasis doesn't look good on me at all. or that I never look "put together" because typical classic or cute stuff looks really awkward on me 😂 we always want the opposite of what we have 😆 but now thanks to Kibbe I understand why and I can try to work with my line to look the way I want .

    • @sofiaroman1844
      @sofiaroman1844 Před 5 lety +20

      Hey, no envy is required, all types have our challenges. As a natural my issue has always been with my wide shoulders and trying to style outfits that dont exagerate them. Discovering Kibbe has taken a huge frustration out of knowing what to wear, and appreciate my figure! ♡

      @justina2320 Před 5 lety +10

      @@sofiaroman1844 oh yeah, kibbe shows that all body types are beautiful in their own way! My best friend during childhood was always very long and skinny and dry in almost every feature. I always wanted to look like her and adopt her (more dramatic, structured) style. And that was a big mistake since i am most likely a soft gamine and cant deal with stiff blazers and all-black looks 🤣
      In my opinion most attractive body types are classics and theatrical romantics ;)

    Firstly, the 3rd SN was giving me Molly Ringwald vibes. If she hasn’t dressed up as Claire from “The Breakfast Club” for Halloween yet, there’s a costume idea.
    Regarding the natural woman’s yin facial features:
    I’ve noticed that naturals can tend to have “open” faces. I think perhaps that accounts for the yin undercurrent in the face. I think that “openness” is how blunt yang is communicated in the face. This is noticeable even in the SNs and FNs shown in the video.

    I am a flamboyant natural and my biggest insecurity is how my head looks small compared to my body. I see a similar thing in the examples here. I was searching for some ways to correct that kind of look, but I don't see anyone talking about it :(

    • @maddelke7
      @maddelke7 Před 4 lety +11

      In my opinion this is a good look and you dont have to correct it. I think it looks really long and elegant and beautiful. I think a big head look is more weird but it is good for tv lol, so they both have their benefits.

    • @iman5873
      @iman5873 Před 4 lety +11

      Big, tousled hair or big accessories are the key to achieve a more armonic balance imo, the opposite willl emphasize the bluntness (and that can look super gorgeous too and give that amazonian warrior vibe)
      Learning about Kibbe etc is imo a way to understand how clothes can work with your body structure and to better chose what YOU want to look like, working with what you have since birth and compliment yourself :)
      I'm still looking forward to "posing for body types" since same pose with different bone/flesh structure can give different message, and I want to actually chose when to look sexy or childish or strong or relaxed etc...
      Clothes & style are a way to Express oneself and it's the healthiest fastest way, so why not? :)

      Scarves and Naturals are made for each other, I always carry one in my bag to put on if I'm in the sun. Just make sure the scarf doesn't look "classic", polished or crisp. Fringes, cut edges and soft "crushy" fabrics are great. Anything with a "boho" feel should work fine.

    So, I go back and forth on whether I’m a short Flamboyant Natural (I just under 5’5”) or a Flamboyant Gamine.
    The lady at 14:53, I have a very similar face shape to hers, square jawline and tall, somewhat slanted forehead. I’m not familiar with “ethereal essence” but I’m guessing it has something to to with having a fairy or elf-like appearance which I don’t see in me. My eyes and nose might be a little bigger, my breast might be bigger while my hips are narrower. My torso is long while my arms and legs aren’t short exactly but are average to slightly smaller than average and small in proportion to my torso. I think of how I’m different from that lady and realize those might be my contrasts and think maybe I’m a Flamboyant Gamine.

    Thank you for another great video! Usually, the "real life" Kibbe types clarify things for me. I thought I was a soft natural because of the yin in my bone structure. After watching the video, I am wondering if I'm more of a flamboyant natural even though I don't have an athletic build. My face has a bit of angularity and structure. I prefer long lines, monochromatic outfits, draping, and v-necks. How do you decide if you are a soft or flamboyant natural?

    Hey Merriam. One question though, I know for sure that I'm a subtype of a natural. However I'm confused whether it's a flamboyant natural or soft natural. I've tried both clothes and I think I look great on them. Basically what throws me off is my yin boobs(which is pretty big for the rest of my body) and some softness in my face. But those are my only yin features. I also have some long vertical narrow lines with my legs and arms and my hips are pretty taught straight and not as shapely as most soft naturals. Is there a possibility that I'm a Flamboyant Natural despite having bigger bust area and softer face?

    Ok, I have this question that has been bothering me alot. Taylor swift is typed as a Flamboyant Natural, yet she wears alot of different styles. Her most iconic style is quite similar to gamine's style, shorts, cute mini dresses or brightly colored skirts or tops. And she looks amazing in them. She looks good in classic style. Taylor swift's hairstyle is also constantly changing, she loves her retro styled hair and even clothes. She does wear naturals style but I dnt see them as often as I see her in gamine type clothes. I read somewhere that she dresses more her face which is more like a Gamine's face, which is why she is able to pull off gamine style clothes. But I am unable to understand what that means.

      No. Gamines have thinner delicate bones. Its not well known but Flamboyant Naturals can also be very short. I saw a girl on the kibbe boards who was only 5'3" that kept getting typed as a FG or a Romantic by the general public for over a year because of her height and having smaller shoulders and wider hips and slight cuteness in her face. She brought a whole wardrobe based around cutesy styles but wasn't comfortable. Everyone was ignoring the large blunt bones in her face and and very large powerful wide calves, larger hands ect that rule out gamine and romantic. Kibbe actually contacted her personally and solved the mystery. He said she should keep WELL away from any Romantic or Gamine lines as her bones weren't narrow enough. He said she is actually a Flamboyant Natural which surprised nearly everyone. Now LOVES her new wardrobe and looks fantastic in all her new FN pics she posted, as well as getting great feedback at work.

    • @Dragking38
      @Dragking38 Před 5 lety +3

      @@svenskbonbon do you have wider shoulders, straight maybe? Its all about, how clothing falls and drapes on your body. If you have those kind of shoulders, are taller and long lines suit you, as well as big statement jewelry, chunky and extravagant earrings for example, you might really be a flamboyant natural. Can you see amazonian essence, do you seem strong, confident, a little more "knowing" than the average Person? Do People look out for your opinion and want to be your friend? Having width ( compared to your own body) and a vertical line could translate to flamboyant natural, but its important to look at yourself with new eyes and without comparison with everybody else. A short woman with longer limbs and vertical line, with narrow bones and sharpness in the face can be a dramatic type, Short women can be any type. Being taller, the ids will have to be yangier, no theatrical romantic bigger than 5"5, cause the vertical line would add to much yang to still fit into the id. So in your case, if you dont have width compared to yourself and your skelleton is rather narrow, but longboned and you have overweight, you could be a dramatic. But having wider features really sounds, like FN could be the id, where you fit in.

    Ok, maybe someone has an opinion on this. I think I am a soft natural, it's the type I was instantly drawn to when I started learning about this system, and I already have SN clothes in my wardrobe and I really love the lines..oversized and chunky, like Merriam said in her other SN video, that fits exactly. Regarding the test, I really think I do have a soft yang bone structure, but what "worries" me is that I am 5'5, and naturals are supposed to be taller. Although SN can be 5'5, too. I am half european and half asian (Philippines), so of course they are in general more petite. So although I feel wide in bone structure, compared to regular Europeans of course I am smaller and not "wide" (I wear size xs-s). So, can I still be a soft natural? The descriptions fit so well and I love it, but the height and width - topic irritates me a little...

    • @SoaringWhiteSpirit
      @SoaringWhiteSpirit Před 3 lety

      As a soft natural who likes to stay warm in the winter as well, I’d say first of all that “soft drapey” seems to sometimes be misunderstood. For SN it’s not meant as thin, ethereal or filmy. (Perhaps that’s more suited to romantic?) More so, it is about texture and structural “drape” and feel.
      Natural fibres, which are most flattering for SN fall across the body in a certain way. So, gorgeous warm woolen knits, tunic sweaters, cardigans don’t have to be thin to drape well.
      What SN should be probably not go for is a knit that is too boxy, too round, cropped style, tight at the neck or a button up style.
      I actually love sweater dresses and think they suit SNs really well. The other option with lighter knits is to layer. Actually living in a Northern climate, a tend to always layer in the winter. I think SN is lucky that it goes with the style.
      Another tip is wrap scarves are a magnificent accessory, versatile, add some very nice unfussy pop and keeps your neck warm in drafty places!
      As a SN, I have very little pattern (except for subtle textural detail) in my wardrobe, as it’s often too busy or fussy. But, some pattern in a loose wrap scarf is just up my alley. Hope that helps a bit 😁
