Wragg had two options- go to the police and explain he’s being blackmailed or drag colleagues into the clutches of a clearly nefarious individual or organisation, he went for the latter. He should face charges for his actions.

He could have chosen a 3rd option, don't send compromising images of himself to anonymous strangers on homosexual dating apps.

Why would sending other people's phone numbers in any way resolve the issue? And then why would those third parties send intimate photos to total strangers?

I am afraid I absolutely no sympathy for Mr Wragg. To be generous, he was naive in the extreme, as an MP, in communicating with a stranger via an app. It is unforgivable that, when threatened with exposure via 'compromat' (which, I presume, was not his official portrait) he tried to save his own reputation by throwing colleagues and perhaps others to the wolves.

I don't have the expertise on this issue so this is a genuine question, Would it be possible, or likely that he could be charged for a breach of national security? This is extremely serious and I'm honestly shocked he hasn't immediately stood down or been sacked. The utter incompetence at the top of this country is frankly shocking.

Did Wragg give the ‘’Unknown Person Ani/Charlie’’ the phone numbers of his MP mates directly from Wraggs contact list on his personal/official phone? Or did he give the number of this supposed perp, the WhatsApp number that is, to his MP mates who then chose individually whether they wished to contact the perp personally themselves?
The process is important to define the crime and subsequent charges if any.

In the USA it is quite common practice to take home large quantities of Classified Documents and send pictures of your Stash to fellow leaders bragging how big it is but fortunately they have not reached this level of depravity yet
