- In today’s election round up:
Rory Stewart berates the Tories for Liz Truss’ term as prime minister, saying that he wishes that he became head of government.
Andrew Neil gives his analysis of a troubling day for the Conservatives, before interviewing Michael Gove on Reform UK’s surge.
Al Murray claims the only way he’d run as an MP against Nigel Farage again is if he was offered “a million quid”.

What a joy it would be with Rory Stewart as PM
Anyone with half a brain turned on knows that the system is broken. On this score Rory is perfectly right.
Did Times Radio listen to Rory? This standard of journalism is so so shoddy. Misleading clickbait title to get views.
Exactly - the strapline is so bloody infuriating… completely unscrupulous journalism
it's andrew neil, an appalling man on every level, what did you expect?
@@oitoitoi1please outline the levels 😅
This strap line is so unfair. He said he wished that someone motivated by moral principles was PM - one of whom might have been him.
Also he wouldn’t have included that grammatical error.
Rory Stewart is a public school oxbridge wet pants - and he's a woke socialist not a conservative. The man's a prat.
'I still wish I became......' has the Times given up on basic grammar altogether?
For me, Rory Stewart
is the ideal candidate for PM. He was Labour, then Conservative, so he sees both sides.
When the Lib Dems, needed a leader a few years ago, I thought he resigned from the leadership race to go for that Liberal leadership.
If I were PM, he would be my No.1 choice for Foreign Secretary due to his extensive knowledge 👍🏼
What, you would accept a multiple turncoat, as PM.
OK.
Each to their own.
Opportunist.
He’s never been Labour
@geoffallibone4026
Hey Geoff 👊🏼
We are all to some degree, 'opportunists', are we not?
I suppose anyone who aspires to become an MP or minister in government needs to have drive & determination.
The ability to see an 'opening' or an opportunity is a given, so you can move onwards & upwards... 😉
@eddyd63
Hey Eddy 👊🏼
You're mistaken, as he supported Labour before '93, buddy...
So do i rory. Biggest missed oppurtunity for the uk for decades
🤔😉
That would be Corbyn in 2017. We came so close 😢
Love the interview where Rory calls out Matt Chorley and other media for indulging Boris, Truss & co. The media has huge responsibility for the mess the UK is in.
The best PM the Tories never had. A decent, conscientious, selfless well motivated individual. In total contrast to Johnson who has caused the death of the Conservative Party.
You can not trust a Tory. When are people going to learn? 🤨
These conservatives are a laugh a minute.
Please can someone convince Al Murray to RERUN as FUKP PubLandlord against Farage .. !!
This is so well put re the Tories.
The acceptable face of British Conservatism, and I'm no Tory. The Tory's are a lost cause.
Give that apostrophe the day off - no need for him there
The voting system is also a lost cause 🤷♂️
😂
😅😅😅 yellow conservative no thanks
I’ve always voted labour but I would have definitely voted for Rory….he’s a class act
‘I still wish I HAD become president’.
And you can't fix the system while trying to play by the system's rules. And you can't survive in it if you don't follow the rules.
WELL
YOU, didn't & You Won't so get over IT.
Thank God for Mr.N Farage
I still wish I had become Prime Minister, ffs. The Times!
Yes, dreadful Americanisms are all over the place these days. This is a particularly bad one.
Beware those who thirst for power.
So do I Rory so do I 😂😂
The only way I’d ever contemplate voting Tory would be if Stewart was leader, which is never going to happen now.
The man HIMself. 5/10 years ago i realised i agreed with rory, only tory i ever followed. never knew he was labour. and ive not looked in five, but i know.
I think all politicians should do a lie detector test. Before been allowed to become a mp 🤥👍
He’s a really interesting guy (his books are fantastic) but he’s not really a conservative. He, like many MP’s are Social Democrats. That’s why the Tories are riven with civil war and failing so badly. It’s also why the media loves him, anything to the right is labelled ‘Far Right’.
Glad to see you can read
He strikes me as Blair 2.0. I would rather have him as prime minister than Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak. However that is not saying much.
I disagree with his politics. We had his politics during the Blair years. Time to move on from Labour and Conservatives.
I could never vote Tory but i think Rory would have made a good labour leader.
He wish he was PM, I remember him going against the Brexit vote. Another snake in the grass😂😂
The sooner these characters are out of power, the better for the country. Tearing Sir KS apart at this point when the Tories have shown themselves to be beyond hopeless and tone deaf, when it comes to the idea of governing for the people. At least to start with KS cares about what he is about to embark on, he will approach the job with maturity, seriousness and something of a calling for the job. None of these people just now have ever cared about the people. Worth taking a leaf out of “The Government of the People, For the People, By the People”..no chance of that with this current mob. They’re more the government for and of themselves for themselves… and Sir KS and anyone else in any other party would have stayed the course for D- day.
Rory would never have said 'I wish I became [sic] ...', per your heading. He'd have said 'I wish I'd become ...'. Who are these shoddy headline writers at the once venerable Times?
No more nazl fascist conservatives, it’s over
Best PM we never had, although if you listen to it, he doesn't say he wanted to be PM, more than someone thoughtful and moderate should be.
A wetter than wet TINO. If he's the level of soldier we have thank God we have the nuclear deterrent. A typical 'born to rule' sort that sounds like he's given up on our country and just interested in managing decline.
Not possible, odds for him becoming PM is as close to any lib dem MP.
We need more people in politics like Rory Stewart.
@@thelleftaremad7556I think foresight - let’s not forget he warned us all about what’s happened at the end of Mays premiership… then parliament got prorogued and treason and corruption flourished. I can’t think of better foresight in any of our politicians
@@thelleftaremad7556 Au contraire, Rory Stewart warned of the dangers of both Brexit and of having Boris Johnson as PM well beforehand. Sadly, his warnings went unheeded.
I listened to this interview earlier and I feel like the title you chose for this conversation doesn't reflect the points that Rory Stewart was making. Could it be because he was critical of journalists?
A legend in his own living room.
Best time of the morning.
I hope Mr Stewart runs for a seat and then for office and then for PM.
For which political party?
Give me strength........
Gove is correct, the Conservatives have a good immune system, better known as hearing challenged
I liked Rory not a tory but he spoke to the people. Told us the score unlike every other tory.
hopefully never but he is a puppet to Tony so mabye he will be selected
No
The 1/2 pint ( aka Rory) will never be Prime Minister.
Sounds like a smaller man took JC's girlfriend from him. If so, she's better off.
@@DRKrust492 ahh let me guess; one 1/2 pint sticking up for another? Lol
And you will never be a class act.
You're very nearly alone in that wish though Rory.
Rory? But tiny Richie with his short trousers wants to stay Prime Minister?
Cometh the hour - cometh the man.
Not sure RS would have made a good PM. But way better than the last few no marks they've given us.
Mr Farrow, Nigel cabbage. Can times radio give Gove some diazepam please
Not a tory but stewart is man I can relate too. Mr Neil on the other hand is a right winger more at home on GB News for the dosh. Not a man I have any time for.
Ohh and Gove on coke. Brilliant what a show. Dont tune in again
NO A CHANCE.
He's in a minority of one!
Rory,
Some would want you to but in reality, countless millions more, wouldn't.
Yup, they opted for Bojo, & then Liz Truss.
I don't know who is editing these video clips but if the idea is to get people to sign up to The Times, you might want to get someone new. I'm sure the main content is decent but these clips aren't going to make anyone sign up.
This freaky looking and sounding little has-been is the Ultimate Milquetoast Tory Wet-Wipe, so it's only natural The Times are obsessed with him.
It reads as if JS is very insecure in himself. Typical incel.

Come on, tell us what you really think!

He's all mouth and trousers
To many cliches. Say something original or give £50.00 to charity for every cliche.
A nonentity !
Roryface makes me want to take up boxing
The problem is Rory, I do not consider you a Conservative and never have done, a minority of the likes of you and David Cameron have repeatedly tried to drag the Tory party to the wishy/washy so called centre. I see you and Cameron as Lib Dem pro EU at best. It is amazing the party has lasted since Brexit and the Ideology gap is a millions miles wide. Enough is Enough, the party needs to decide where it wants to go. In the meantime millions wll vote for reform unti the party finally makes up its mind.
10 YEARS should do it !
Why would I ever accept Kier Starmer as my Prime Minister, when he stated he eould follow The World Econlmic Forum in preference to Westminster?
He should be heading to The Tower as an MP for such an allegiance and not to No. 10!
Along with him there are many others - MPs, government ministers and civil servants sharing accommodation at the Kings pleasure.
This is KNOWN to be the case as Klaus Schwab boasted that The WEF had, "...penetrated the cabinets (of countries' governments)."
Please can you start to ask these leaders difficult questions and whilst about it check just what our leaders have agreed to in The 'Global Compact for Migration' that over 100 country leaders have signed behind our backs.
Thank you so much I advance.
Yours,
Keith
Got a source?
Is that foil hat secured properly keith?
You chickened out
title? what do you expect from a company willing to still give andrew neil a voice
This bloke was the biggest prat going Thought he had disappeared for good
When you can speak 11 languages maybe you’ll earn the right up call the man who can. Until then it just sounds like a dog barking at an educated man
Nope that was Boris
Or perhaps Liz

Another self-obsessed public school boy. Take a hike
Yes, Rory, that's just what the country needed, wasn't it; another out of touch rich boy, puffed up with fashionable opinions, who hasn't even the slightest idea as to how these fashionable opinions affect those who are not ex-public school, multi-millionaires with fashionable opinions. Sorry, Rory, it's total humbug, I'm afraid.
🌟 he would have been worse than Tony Blair #numptynonsense
We do not want arch remoaner, leftie Rory Stewart as M P. Or Prime Minister!!!! Scary!
