If you ever have to use a strap, rope, or chain to pull a vehicle out pro tip: throw a heavy jacket or blanket (whatever you can find) over the rope. It deflects the angle towards the ground if the strap breaks. It could save your windshield or life.

Use your parking break as a poor man's limited slip. It should be on the drive axle of the jeep. It will help to keep the tire with the least traction from breaking loose. You have to use lite throttle and modulate the parking break. It will help considerably on an open differential. We used to do that on the ranch before 4x4 was so common.

pretty cool try. our go to is to let air out of the tires first (down to 10 pounds or so). That gets 80% of them unstuck. We have also tied a sapling across both back tires and backed up, works sometimes but you have to have posi or limited slip and you only go a half a revolution at a time. It is real good way to pop the rear axle up a few inches so you can get some brush in the ruts. On sand, we always carry a 5 gallon bucket, an axe/machete/saw and a shovel (or just the cold steel special forces shovel). You let air out of tires, pour water in your tracks (firms up the sand for a few minutes) cut some brush and put in the ruts and shovel out any bumps to make a smooth exit. That has worked everytime except once when we hit a "cow belly" (sediment filled hole) and it sunk to the floorboards.

Ok that's it! I'm going to invent some type of half assed something, patent it, market it, sell it on the interweb and retire.
Tire chains may work better. "Tire chains... They're not just for snow anymore!"

17:58 someone actually did that on ice road truckers with a strap, I wonder if that's where he got the idea lol... It worked on the tv show, whatever that's worth.

No wonder women live longer than men!
Seen post chained to tractor tires to get out of the mud, suppose it would work on a car if you got fender clearance, or build something that bolts to the lug nuts that sticks out you could put a 2x4 through. Also used a chain between the back duals of a log truck to winch out using them as the spool.

I mean technically the first set did exactly what they were supposed to do. You were buried and couldn't move -at all-. Once you put them on you got out of your rut. At that point, they should have come off and you continued doing what you did to get out without destroying the product and your car.

Those rubber track grabbers suck. Truck claws work better but expensive. Tennessee mud is some sticky shit. I got stuck with my 4wd Ford expedition in a dry bed at Cordell hull lake. It sucked me down like quicksand. Took a flatbed tow truck to lift me up and out of the muck. Now I got me a 12,000lb winch. Good video. Thanks for posting

As this truck is junk try wraping the tow strap around the drive shaft, then it won't matter what wheel is turning. Carpet works realy well in that kinda mud . Just sticks and rocks have saved me . But if you take a 2x6 about 3 ft long and cut it like a saw blade on both sides that is the cheapest and most functional matt track you can make at home. For a few more dollars add some expanded steel mesh and your out in minutes .

Pretty fun video!! Passing the torch to your sun Austin, eh? It's good you include him with what you do. Lots of fun and i see he likes it too. Not sure about those cheapo tire thingy though. I bought a wench and a tree saver and no worries! No chinesium tire graber stuff here!! Loved Jeremy's tow strap idea!!! LOL
