This was so well articulated Ollie. I’m from an alcoholic family and culture and I am 4 years sober. 1000% the best thing I’ve ever done as well! It’s an uphill battle in our cultures but we’re setting a new example for future generations.

Thank you for this. Being sober makes you feel like a God. When on the booze I feel like all my superpowers have been taken. After a night of drinking it takes 5 days to finally forgive myself

Glad so many people are talking about how bad booze is. So true when you try to quit in the UK, people are almost offended.

I was addicted to booze as a younger man. Kicked it, then got addicted to weed. Now 3 months free of that my only lament is picking up weed after kicking booze. And the vivid dreams. Those are kicking my butt. But I am so grateful I could kick it. 39 and I feel like my life is just beginning. Power to anyone that is or wants to kick it too. You can.

I almost drank myself to death in Korea. In and out of ICU.
Today I'm almost 2 years sober.
Drinking is literally playing with fire.
Be willing to get burnt if you wanna make alcohol a part of your life.
Sadly, most don't agree till it's too late.

Alcohol is good for nothing. I have a friend that is severely suffering from alcoholism....

Fear makes us reactive. Fear not death. Realize you are insignificant. And the world will just fine without you. Truth will set you free. Practice discipline. And play harder. Its not the drink. Its the rooted core of yourself.

We are not insignificant! We are the opposite of what we are taught.

no disrespect to anybody trying to get folk off the piss ,its commendable but theres a lot more to the story than anyone cares to talk about ,lets assume ollie was wheelchair bound where does his escapism come from then?
