- In this vlog I review the Metzeler marathon ultras. I've had these tyres on for around 4 months now (5500kms) and they have been bloody amazing. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone in the market for new tyres. I also talk about mental health in this vlog and go on abit of a ride to toorbul Queensland to clear my head. (Australian harley davidson)

I definitely relate to your "force yourself to get out" message, and deal with it weekly. Depression, anxiety, life frustrations is real, and it does get hard. Thae hard part is beginning the act of doing. Once you start and get going, its easy. Some people dont understand the process. Great video, start to finish.
That's it mate, we all go through it and I guess I wanted to let everyone know we are all human and deal with the same of life's crap. I agree, the initial step is what's needed 🧡🖤
@Gnarly_Harley I'm a huge mental health supporter, as I've dealt with depression, anxiety my entire life and have been in some very low, dark places in my life, but, luckily have had the strength to kick my own ass back straight. It's a very important issue, and it's been amazing, seeing and hearing people acknowledge it, and not very afraid to admit and talk about it. Sometimes just realizing someone else is going thru it, helps.
Mate I did 450ks from Ipswich up through the sunshine coast hinterland, lunch at your mates brewery.. it’s only riding that keeps the demons at bay.. Keep up the good work legend..

I truly appreciate your "non specky" reviews. The average, everyday person doesnt know sh*t about specs, just, is it good, or bad. And firsthand experience and info from other riders is the best knowledge you can get.
Dig the new media set up, too. Adds more depth and character to your vlog. You have a good thing going, just natural, free flowing material. Youre a good dude! Stay safe

Love your review on tyres . Also not big on the technical side of things. But you covered the important stuff. How it behaviours in the wet , corners, and kms. I like watching yourself on utube because you are real, including being honest .

First thing I changed on my 2008 Fatbob was the tires. I had about 1,000 miles on them and hated them so I did a long smokey burnout until no tread left and swapped them out for Dunlop American Elites. I have always used and love Dunlop tires. All of my bikes currently have Dunlops on them. I have considered trying the Metzeler cruisetec tires on one of my bikes as I have heard good things about them. Keep up the good work. I very much enjoy your content!
Wish I changed mine earlier mate haha. Them all terrains are weird... I'll have to have a look at american elites always open to different brands etc. Definitely give metzeler a crack too my old boy loves his cruisetecs also. Thanks heaps mate and thanks for watching 🧡 🖤 🤙
Well done Mate. That's it just keep doing the vlogs. I can 100% tell you from experience just keep plugging away, it's a marathon not a sprint. Yip so true we all have the up's & down's of life. I love watching birds, those sexy things walking down the street. I'm allowed to look, just not touch haha Ok ok might not have been the birds you were watching. That's what I ordered originally, magically these ones appeared on my bike 🤣 not complaining though theyve been great !
Got a fresh set waiting to put on my boulevard m90. Glad to hear I made a good choice. Currently have a set of battleaxe tires and not too happy with the flat spot and only around 5k miles, feel like they wore too fast. Can’t wait to put the new ones on!

I flew into Melbourne on that stormy day, a few days ago. I then rode my near new, 2021 Fatboy, the next day. My beast was originally bought from Geelong Harley davidson. Which is cool. Unfortunately in Australia it comes down to what's available & the price point too...

Hi mate, yes metzeler is a great tire. I run them on my sports bikes but that’s not the best part about the video I did the same thing today went for a ride after two weeks off the bike. Just have a look about and as far as social media goes fuck them. I reckon you’re doing a great job I might sound like a broken record but just keep being yourself it’s pretty good cheers

Good review ive been running Shinko 777 great grip awesome in the rain major drawback i dont get a lot of mileage out of them im running them on my 2017 Dyna Low rider S. Ive heard good things on the metzler and im definitely going to try them out next time its time to replace the tires.

Hello Matt! Well, I enjoy your videos and look forward to your next one every day! I liked your tire review. They appear to be a very good brand. I get free tires for life with my new Breakout. Not sure what brand I get when the replacement happens. I know the back tire is a huge 240 18. It's pretty expensive too. I looked up on Google Earth the place you rode too. Toorbul I believe it was. I was able to find the place you were sitting at too. I agree with you about social media. I quit facebook altogether. I only use CZcams and watch videos there. Videos like yours and other Harley Davidson videos. I've also started watching MotoGP videos. The season starts next month. There is going to be another 2 day test starting on Monday. I'm glad you were able to get out and ride today! Your Harley really does sounds great too! It's looking really good with all the improvements you've made! Keep making your videos Matt!!! This is a better motivational video than a tyre review. :-)
Any after-market tyre will out perform OEM Harley issue ( I ride a 2021 fatbob 114 in the UK and they are shite in the damp or wet!) But your message of get out there and do it is more valuable :-)
It`s been a wet and cold winter in the UK, but today was 13c/55f and the roads were dry so for the first time in 3 months I took the fatbob out for a ride and the lift in my mood was instant:-)
Yes it was a struggle mentally , should I bother, can I be arsed to wrap up just for a ride? Been flat, unmotivated,un-inspired over the British winter but it was more than worth it, now looking forward to riding and socialising with likeminded people who have been cooped up in the garage with the same thoughts. It`s hard to break that feeling but worth doing! :-)
Luckily I have an old phone with no capacity for "Apps" and social media so whatever anyone posts dosn`t influence me so if someone wants to post a picture of them eating an endangered species while para-gliding off an exploding volcano saying "Isnt life great and look at my success" I wont see it 🙂
If I felt the need to reply should I see such as post...simple answer.... I`m riding my Harley and fucking loving it, beat that :-) :-)

It went up to 16c/60f the other day and a record high for february but the summers can be nice, often in the high 20`s c/80`s f and warm enough for T-shirt riding :-) @@Gnarly_Harley

Hey mate, what fuel do you use when you fill up? Guy from a non HD dealer that supposedly rode Harleys told me to only run 95 because they're not tuned to 98. What's your opinion ?
It's recommended to run most bikes on 95 or 98 premium. I've always used 98 in every bike I've own but that's just me. (They say it improves mileage and performance) but I'm not sure how true that is but I use it anyway. Hope that helps 🤙

I've ridden in the pouring rain and wet plenty of times and these tyres handle awesome. Was only a slight drizzle in this vlog.
It's the sun dude. Light therapy, it's a thing. Grounding helps (take shoes off, walk on the grass, beach, exercise). Screen time exit (blue light) pack it in at 8:30pm, lights out! Love riding but being in riding gear all day sucks (boots, jeans, jacket, gloves, helmet) too much sun deprivation for me. Prefer to keep the rides short and sweet these days... Diet. Try carnivore or keto. Carbs and artificial sweeteners #uck most people up. Steps anyone can do for massive improvement in physical/mental health... P.S Get on the pushy sometimes and run amok 🚴♂🔥🙂It's how most of us got into two-wheels in the first place so find your kid spirit and burn some proper energy... Big wheeled BMX is good 😉
That is very true ! Been crap weather for about a month straight. I was actually about to do a high meat based diet. Not full carnivore though. Should feel 100% better ! That's true mate, yeah I haven't been exercising lately too which is definitely apart of it ! But I am aware and slowly trying to change things.
