I've played these settings a number of times before. I found them painful. If you end up in a game of experts and masters not enough people make mistakes and the game stalemates.
Ya almost every time , fog is great for that , you can have empty caps with a good alliance with fog on and use those troops for a good card block or cap smash elimination 🎉
I'm an expert rated player and at some point I just get fed up with the game and take the highest place that is possible with some noob slam, helping the guy that played like the biggest homie. But then again I really don't care about my rank, so well, there's also that aspect.
If only they had an extra point of green mana...
Well done for showing us a video of you getting mauled and beaten into 4th place. It takes a great player to do that and shows us all that it is okay now and again to be smashed because it happens to the best. Great content as usual.

Classic Pete fukk up play, he has become so bad at these Setting and only can win to Noobs and bots.....
@@Jtowntrader nah, a mild blunder. On a bad roll he loses 80ish troops against white. Which puts him flat on the kill, but also leaves his caps weak.
Purple going bad means they intend to keep being bad. It'll be attrition.
That green spawn is pretty crazy, never seen a gifted Scandinavia like that lol
In my opinion taking the purple cap was a mistake I thought that you could take Italy and sit in his Africa bonus and he wouldn't be able to retaliate with his 16 cap and especially that he has 2 cards only, and maybe you could take the purple kill for 3 cards on the next turn . What do you think Pete was that a better play.
I came to comment almost exact same thing... Remove purple from the left side(take italy) and force him to fight pink... he could only have attacked through africa easier hold

Came to comment this as well. I think there was a bit of tilt there. Purple was a pain the whole game and left like a loser. I get it. Ultimately this would be like a turn two cap take where you get left with like 6 or 7 on your two caps. Yes you have two caps but will forever be behind the rest of the board ultimately not giving you a top placement. Pete traded getting 20 a turn to fighting to keep double digits.

At 25:23 seems that killing white for 5 cards would have been better than taking purples capital and making an enemy that stayed around.
You should have removed white from the left side when they had only one territory there. Then pink would have been their only card white could have taken (except slamming your capitals of course, which they likely wouldn't have done at that point for such a small infraction).
I think there's a decent chance white slams Pete's cap in that scenario, but I still think that's the play. He can follow up kill white

It would have given you a higher chance of getting the green kill on your turn.
But it could antagonize white and maybe cause them to hit you?
Around the 39 minute mark, why not clear white out of the pocket to the left? Then their only card is through the magenta 120. Obviously not great for making friends, but feels like a decent play considering the board state
Break on you by purple seems dumb at 24:40. Don't they realize their Italy exists at your behest? Hell, their capital is yours if you want it. Maybe they sued for peace with pink? But that just costs them Italy and probably the game.
why didn't you kill green at 34:00 min?
At he said at 32:32 killing green doesn't trigger a trade in turn. It would have left Pete on 5 cards and someone else could have tried to kill Pete for those cards before his next turn.

At 11:24 how did pink attack that 1 and didn't split that default 3 troops I'm really confused
I haven't played the game myself so I can only speculate, but it looked like pink didnt blitz the roll and only used 1 dice so only 1 troop was in the attack.
If you manual roll 1 or 2 dice instead of blitzing you can move 1 or 2 troops the territory if you win the roll instead of 3 as required from balanced blitz

True random is my go to. There is no slider bug, it's the original rule and it rewards much more players with better risk management skill.
I’ve been playing the meta settings but fixed instead of progressive with alliances on and honestly I rarely hit a stalemate.
Bonuses matter so much that diplomacy is key and honestly 4/5 games just end under 30 min. It’s also very challenging for those who wanna try
Honestly, this sounds great and in much better keeping with how the game is supposed to be played/what the game is supposed to be. IE, much more representative of Napoleonic warfare via a simplified board game.
Progressive just takes what Risk is supposed to be and flips it into something completely different. Which is fine as it's own game but it's not Risk. Bonuses should matter thru the entire game, contiguous territories should be more powerful than a single territory with a big stack. Running thru the whole board the size of Europe advanced should take way more than one turn, diplomacy should be a key part of the game. This idea that you just have to wait it out until the sets get big enough and a couple lucky cards falling your way and you can sweep thru players 10x or 20x your size from literally 3 different territories is just a result of gamers gaming the game mechanics. But that's just my take on it, anyway.
just got to the 26 min mark. any reason you didnt wait for purple to get to 3 cards to do that break so you could just kill and then set? i always struggle when i get to a point where i COULD kill someone but its gonna be expensive

You only have to move 3 troops if you roll 3 dice. If he manual rolled with 1 dice, then he only had to move 1 troop
Pretty sure White just cap runs after killing you, since that sets them & Magenta didn’t have enough troops on their capitals.
Such a weird game. White was too passive to come 1st and you really couldn't do anything against pink since you wouldnt have any help while he snowballs. Unfortunate

You waste so many troops blitzing purples capital when you could've easily knocked him out of exterior and card locked in so he could only go into pink off his capital.
Try semi auto placement with all the other settings meta settings

coming out of a game with semi auto - people will cap in the same bonus regardless if it's auto or semi auto and with the same results. There was a blizzard config with a 2 point hold on Russia and both territories were caps. Essentially was a 3 way bloodbath and got to swoop in last to take both down and with 2 kills after 2 players botted out.
However you can see your neighbors prior to choosing your cap, after placing troops, so if this was a big deal could split your 10 troops between 2 good positions. Games go extremely quickly (since all non cap territories are 1 stack usually) to the mid and late game where skill tends to be more apparent vs early game. Plus try using true random since the early game is safer in semi auto @@FreePete

why let pink hold all the bonuses what is the idea
No one wanted to be the person to break them and have pink suicide into them or just dedicate a ton of troops in retaliation. Thats what happens when you have too many oassive players. One aggressive player will steamroll
Why at 1122 pink didn't have to leave 3 troops on Sevastopol ?
I think because he manualed with only 1 dice. When you blitz you noemally attack with at least 3 troops. When you attack with 3 you have to send the 3 after. If you only attack with one you can just send the one.
If you attack with a 1 dice roll you can leave just 1 troop there.
I like to see "my" settings on your channel. I have used them to rank up to top 15 on the leaderboard. In the new season I am now top 27. The only difference is that I place a minimum rank to an intermediate and 2 minutes timer so everyone has time to think and make their best play.
Commenting the game itself, these settings require more commitment and team work than regular cap settings. You had a chance to backdoor purple and you did not take it. Together with magenta you could have killed him and hold Southern Europe, Italy, Eastern Africa and Orient in addition to your other bonuses. Obviously, there is need to spam heart to magenta so he understands that you killing purple together is the friedliest maximus moment. After that you can just go top 2. I really like these settings. They add art of diplomacy which makes it very fun but it also allows you to grind rank points like crazy if you are good in negotiations. Also I think there is so much potential for content. There were dozens of games I wish I recorded. Like the one time we basically ended up in 2 vs 2 where two pairs of people who befriended each other fought. Sometimes it stalemates but neutral bot helps to always get atleast a second place. But usually I have lobbies of Grandmasters and Masters and it almost never stalemates becase of complicated relationship and favour system. I hope you will play these settings more in the future but I strongly advice to increase minimum rank to an intermediate and timer to 90 or 120 seconds so you can quickly fill in lobby with people who play from phone.
