I originally wasn't going to give this (it was for my channel only), but ScHlAuChi demanded it since I used Bizhawk, which has a really accurate SNES core at the cost of speed versus snes9x, which the first ALttP video was done with (assuming.)
Back to shenanigans...
Adventure-y game by Nintendo.
Follow Zelda as he rescues a girl, gets some necklaces, gets a pretty sword, and gets some blue diamond-shaped rocks.
Plays like all the other Zelda games: travel around, go in a dungeon, do junk, go to next dungeon. Said to be one of top Zelda games.
This longplay takes 100% literally: there's lots of dicking around. =P I play minigames, visit shops, get upgrades maxed, get all Hearts Pieces, find the Golden Bee/Good Bee (unlike my GBA longplay. =X), visit all rooms in a dungeon, go to areas that are irrelevant (area south of East Palace/Level1), uncover hidden passages, and listen to some hints. Result on Woods chest game was luck! I would've settled for the 1 Rupee prize. =P Sadly, there's no Chris-whatev' room because I totally forgot about it. Sowwy. =X
VERY little savestate spam. Hell, no savestate spam on Lamalos-Ice Rod shenanigans. There was a usage of state of save on Tower of Hera (I got a game over...FOR ONCE!) and in a few of the later dungeons (some was in Ice Palace, but it was a path-related thing. The dungeon isn't all that hard to get through.)
Save and quit was spammed, so no 000 game. =/ -

Nowadays A Link to the Past looks so simple but we all know that the atmosphere, the songs, all the feelings involved in this game turns it bigger than it was expected to be
Of course, this feeling has reappeared as well in the Zelda concerts as well. Those concerts have been so incredible.
Still feel that way when playing it now. Can’t imagine what it was like in 91’ though
could not say it better locke.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost someone very important to me too recently and reconnecting with the Zelda franchise makes me feel like a kid again. Reliving better times.
What a beautiful comment. Sorry for you loss
I still play this game. I'm 40 years old and I still play it bc one it brings back memories of my mom and uncle trying to play it. Also there are so many ways you can play and it never gets old. Also it helps me unwind and forget about reality

Such a big W. I'm only 20. I grew up playing Zelda on a Gameboy handheld. Especially when I was around 7-8 years old. It was my very first video game. While other kids played call of duty and other popular Nintendo games, I had this. & I wouldn't have it any other way tbh. I love this game so much. I have replayed it 3 times and I think I'll do it again soon :))

That's how well it's held up! Give me 16 bit 2D games ALL DAY over anything that has come out since! By far the most FUN and PLAYABLE games! =)

Yet there are people out there who underestimate the SNES, saying it was incapable of being amazing. This system blew the doors off of 16 bit gaming.
Pilot wings is always fun .

Still love the sound of EVERY song on every board...whomever wrote the score is a bonafide genius!
Koji Kondo wrote all the music for this game I think. It’s fantastic isn’t it?
4:58 The Hyrule Castle music will forever be the iconic Zelda theme for me. I also love that you can still hear the rain falling outside while on these floors of the castle. So immersive back then. It's impossible for me to choose a favorite Zelda game between this Ocarina of time. These were truly special times in my life.
I'm so happy that I grew up with games of this calibre. I got LTTP for Xmas 1992 and spent most of that school holidays playing through it a few times. I was 12 at the time and I'd only stop playing for food, sleep or football. Almost a flawless game. The visuals, the music, the characters, the weapons, the bosses, the seemingly endless things to do. Just a sublime game.
Im sure it was expensive a gift at the time I would think it would have been around 50-60 dollars at launch price must have been a very happy child at Christmas kids these days have no idea what it was like growing up in the 80s and 90s
1:29:21 This scene... the desolating sound effect of the wind, the last line Sahasralah says, the sword pose, culminating with the commencement of the BGM was just so well-choreographed. It really evokes of THIS IS IT, NO TURNING BACK, I'M THE LAST HOPE feeling.
the gameplay is somehow locked in the recesses of my mind, when i used to go to blockbuster and rent it and it even came with the instruction booklet. I often go back to my snes console and play my old games for nostalgia purposes, when life was easier and i had nothing to worry about. I long to reconnect with those times. I know I will never experience that lifestyle again, but i at least still have those memories.
One of the best Zelda games i ever played.
Beautiful in all ways.
I finish it in an emulator. I never owned a SNES.
But i will treasure every moment of my game played.

Youl never get another game as good as this... No Zelda before or after has ever came close to being this good.. I absolutely love this game.. I can never forget the joy this game gave to me
To me still the greatest Zelda game ever. No Ocarina of Time, no Wind Waker, no Breath of the Wild comes even close to this masterpiece.
none of those games even come close as you said. the simplicity and complexity of this game were light years ahead. its an adventure full of heroism. a true masterpiece.
I loved OoT (the last Zelda game I ever played). For me, it’s one hell of a toss-up between LttP and OoT for the title of “best” Zelda game. They were both amazing.
@@PeteyThePanda I couldn't compare. The simplicity of Majora's Mask with the utter depth and hammering down of its themes is just something that I haven't seen ever again. Such a bold and effective to way to tell a story.
I personally can't even say which I like more - OoT, MM, WW, TP. All of these are phenomenal games. I can't really compare them to the 2D Zeldas honestly but A Link to the Past is a masterpiece of simplicity. Minish Cap is severly underrated too. IDK. Zelda just knows what's up. No need to rank them. Like I don't really like Breath of the Wild but there is no denying that both are fantastic games as well. It just depends on ones preferences, ultimately.
I guess my favorite is Twilight Princess but I understand the criticism that it is like the only Zelda that doesn't really bring something new to the table. But since I adore OoT, well, Twilight Princess is in many, if not all ways Ocarina of Time 2, only that its sound design is kicking more ass. Win to me. :)
@@njux1871 For me is easily pTwilight tPrincess, Wind Waker, Link between Worlds, Mask, Ocarina, Zelda 2, and Zelda 1.. then this.
@@njux1871 in Twilight Princess that Link kicks ass and isn't just a one move guy. Just like Zelda 2 where you can stab multiple areas- up down side- and it's a detailed gave not just another wanna be Zelda 1.
Love this game was 11 when this came out, first game I ever completed without any cheats or walk-throughs, true classic always love the very beginning when links in his house and you hear the rain beating against the house, you collect the lamp and go out side and it's tipping it down, thunder and lighting everywhere, so you go in the castle still the rain beats the castle, SNES sound effects were flipping awesome, no other console does thunder and and lighting sounds quite like the SNES, remember Bowsers music and thunder intro in super Mario world? ahh classic days!! There'll never be another era like the 16bit days.
My brother and I were obsessed with this game when we were kids
5:13 imagine watching a child murder both of your fellow coworkers and vandalize pottery right in front of you and you just decide not to do anything about it but continue your shift

This game is so nostalgic, I remember playing this game when I was little and not knowing anything about link or the legend of Zelda and just playing it. The most distinct thing I remember about this game is that opening music. Brings back so many memories.
I just can't believe this game is "old" now. It seems like only yesterday that this was a "current" game. I don't know what kind of graphics is "the best", but I do feel it's more pleasurable to play a game like Zelda or Metroid instead of a game like God of War.
Still better than 90% of games made these days
Is there a step you have to do before the old man will meet you in the tunnel and follow you? I need the pearls.
This was the first game I ever played that felt like an epic adventure to me
Greatest game ever! Love the sound effects! Brings back memories!
it took me months to beat this game with a game guide, I felt like it was a journey in itself lol
why doesn't anyone comment on the rain that's pouring outside the castle at the beginning? is it around 7-8 pm?
+jlaesch for me took some years without any kind of guides. i remember being stuck in first castles in dark world :(
Ryonagana please comment on the rain....
Regina Reece
???
for me the rain part is like 3:00am
when you finish the dungeon with zelda to the church is like 8:00am
Who else throw the boomerang backwards and make it chase you
Hands down the best Zelda game ever made! The music, weapons, map, story to this day still stand the test of time! Also don’t forget the hammer let’s you “POUND” other things
best snes game ever

+pcfaulkner because you are correct my friend!
because you touch yourself at night

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation...
Omg.. One of my favorite games best one out there. The music the graphics everything just makes it so perfect😍😍
So many childhood memories❤️
That disturbing moment when you realize that skeleton on the throne in the beginning is the king.
Lmao glad to see you were here in 2019 and not like 4 years ago😁
Ohh so THAT'S how you play.
I just listened to my uncle and stayed in the house until my SNES died, then muttered, "weird game".
Lol😂😂😂😂
One of the best games I have ever played, bar none. The nostalgia is real ... n-no, those aren't tears!
2:55:05
the best music score in any video game ever.
Neurotripsicks sound more like a kirby thing.
I think that title goes to Sword Search from Link's Awakening.
As a kid I enjoyed this game and beat it many times. Only thing that freaked me out are / were these black bottomless pits. They kind of always looked like out of place. As the game moved on, the game looked a lot more freaky than what it should have (for example, like in 4:12:23 and such).
Agree, the compositions are badass and this one is no exception. Kind of reminds me of the theme for battlefield 1942..
Great music… but “Mega Man 2: Dr. Wily’s Castle 2” I think.
Gotta love zelda! I remember to this day when I received my SNES and it came with it. This game literally trumps all other games.
This brings back so many memories of teaching my cousins the tricks of the bosses and how to use the different weapons.
1:28:23 i love that sound
I'm gonna copy it and set it as message notification 🤩🤩🤩
This is a game I played a lot of times. Watching this makes me wanna play it again.
Seeing this game again, brings back a lot of memories
2:50 love the sound of rain outside. The sound effects are very good for an SNES game from the early 90’s.
Also Zelda’s theme when you meet her. So that’s where Oot got it from.
