I'd say I lost 25-30 seconds realistically in this run and 50-55 seconds if I want to kill myself. Overall pretty happy with this run minus the dumb mistakes at the end of Turtle Rock and the 4 cycle Agahnim 2. Also didn't hover to the Death Mountain cave heart piece, which is a very risky 11-12 seconds time save. - Hry
How can you swim at 18:30 without the Zora's flippers ?

Wow! Super use of that glitch!
IN LEGEND OF ZELDA A LINK TO THE PAST I GOT 11 HEARTS

rip man
I play with my dad too. will cherish these memories forever
Tbh i was very reluctant to watxh these. Me n my dad played this wen i was younger.
Haha
RIP 4 yr pops My bro
Never finished this game as a kid. Kept digging the wrong spot for that flute. Thank you for finishing the game
While this whole run is amazing, I think the most impressive part of it all is the absolute perfect dash timing when moving everywhere - every dash is machine-perfect! Fantastic run and brings back so many memories; this is one of my favourite games of all time. Excellent work!!
Easily one of the best games that came out on snes. What a Masterpiece!
You mean the greatest game to ever come out? Still have yet to beat this imo
It's amazing that a game can bring back the feelings you had when you first played the game. Every dungeon gave me the same feeling as the first time I played it.
I had never played it before, but I loved my gameboy advance as a kid and got one this year. Played it for the first time recently and man. This game is timeless. Don't recall the last time I had that much fun on a game.
@@Ankaramesi55 You should try Links Awakening. It is just as good as this one was. It's on the Switch currently.
Link to the past is pure gold.
As a kid, it took me FOREVER to beat this game! And that wasn’t even 100%! Great job! I love Zelda.
me too. my first rpg game. i thought its probably the best game ever made. beat the entire game without a guide.
Same
Never got into top down zelda much, but I played the HELL out of OOT. I spent months playing without a guide and was in the shadow temple. My cousin wanted to borrow it so I let him, and when I got my game back, EVERYTHING was messed up where he used a gameshark lol. I was PISSED and didnt want to start all over again.
@@saltyarmy6386 man that sucks. My sister used to do stuff like that all the time… not use gameshark but mess up my games. The worst thing Is having to restart in a game.
Oot is very good. If you haven’t played it since you were a kid I would definitely suggest you go back and play it.
@@crossroads2361 Definitely a classic!! I have an emulator and the Rom, but it's not like playing on a regular 64.
For 2 decades, I never knew you could break cracked walls with the pegasus boots.
RIGHT??
The way I used Pegasus Boots, I was bound to finding it out quickly.
Well...shit. that's cool.
Damn never even tried
9:02 shit this was smart
Doing a 100% speed run is fantastic. I dislike speed runs that are about exploiting glitches and skipping as much as possible, whereas this one works like a really efficient guide.
I too prefer the glitchless/no manipulation runs.
Well.. sorry to call it out, but he used a glitch too.
@@1x5x7 He used quite a few actually.
There's a glitch that lets you finish the game in about 3 minutes. You trick the game into thinking you're in one place when you're in another, and it lets you move between the dungeons. They're all connected on the same map. And you can walk right into the final room (the one that opens when you beat Ganon).
There are so many glitches in this game that they are categorized. Minor glitches like free flippers and block manipulation (mirror when pushing to destroy them, hookshot through while pushing, etc) are considered to be fair game for speed runs not classified as glitchless. They're also the kind of thing any player can learn, and once you know them, you just do them without thinking.
The best use of free flippers - achieved by jumping into the water, and then moving to the next screen before the game can ask itself if you have flippers or not - is to get the hobo bottle and/or the red boomerang/red shield early. The hammer dash, well, mainly for traversing the bridge with the nine pegs, and for that one part east of the Dark World town.
I loved this game, great job on the speedrun.
its falls he swimming but he never gotton the flippers
Awesome! Thanks Zelna, I really enjoyed watching this Speed Run!
殆どミスなく、ここまで小技を駆使して出来るのかと驚く。
アイテムやライフまで取ってて凄いし、ボス倒した時に剣チャージとか、所々で踏ん張ったり(笑)遊び心もあってとても素晴らしかったです。
This is among my favorite Zelda games. Always brings back memories to watch stuff like this. I beat this game several times, though never attempted anything close to a speed run. Nice video!
I think this has the tightest Mothula, Argus, Coldstare, Trinex fights I've seen. Vitreous and Blind too. Well done. Amazing execution throughout, some of those TR rooms were mind-blowing.
Xelna! I love A link to the past and I love speedruns, that means I love you! Great run! Thanks for the video and good luck on future vids.
This game is so amazing. Brings me goosebumps.
The ending will always get to me emotionally.
Just the feeling that there’s nothing left... no more secrets... no more music to uncover... no more experiences... and then you replay it and it’s 3 times better
Well put ..😂
Great speedrun. I love how you use bumping into walls or taking some damage to your favor (to avoid obstacles).
Watched my dad play this game for hours as a child. Thank for helping me get some of those memories back ❤🙏
@@steveairport no he and my uncle cussed like sailors. I got in trouble for imitating him and throwing the controller and yelling motherf*cker! 🤣
my favourite speedrunner for zelda.. always a pleasure
Awesome job! Loving the bomb straff techniques!
Fantastic run of the best Zelda game of all time, and one of the greatest games of all time.
happy 30th anniversary
ZTLTTP
Awesome run! Very nice to watch:)
My six year old became a Nintendo Switch this Christmas. And now, that everyone ist sleeping, I am sitting here, playing A Link to the past and have crazy feelings! This game was magic to me. It often turns out, that things you loved when you was younger feel like crap now. But this game still feels brilliant! It's like a time travel machine back into an magic era!
Jesus... loved every second of this speed run... I remember this game from back in the day... truly amazing!! Thank you...
すごい小技満載
こういうの見ると自分にはプロゲーマーはムリだなって実感させてくれる
ですね。自分も思わず、すげえ!って言ってました。
Masterful! Brings me back to my childhood.
Great speed run awsome vid one of my favorite games
Nice speedrun dude, you ara amazing playng this game
you're really the speedest player I've ever seen on Zelda. Well done ! you're amazing !
This is just so beautiful
That was wonderful. Thank you so much. So many lovely memories. ^^
Even though I know perfectly well that it's not needed to do so, I still get tears in my eyes, cramp in my toes and the hairs in my neck standing upright to see you not picking up the boomerang in the beginning. That boomerang was really my best friend in this game when I grew up with it :)
Such a diss for that guard at 12:57-8; I love it!
InfernalPurge he literally only used it twice. Crazy
This game is my favorite Zelda game its so good it can be played again time and time again so much nostalgia
Very cool speed run, enoyed it!
At 41:05 that's sword swipe looked so angry like "bro get the f*** off me. Hahahahahah
yeah
“Mum, can I play Link to the Past?”
“Okay, but only for two hours.”
0:00
i can
I USED TO PLAY IT WITH MY BROTHER ALL DAY LOL

Well it takes a lot more than two hours to master the game like this ;-)
Wow! Good job man, nice speedrun! 😎✌🏻
The goat of Zelda!
このリンクはマジ大好きです!!
しかも、スラスラとクリアできて
めちゃ凄いデス!!
Great run I've learned alot about efficiency in this game and to be fair. Getting all bomb and arrow upgrades is grindy as all hell! I know that nobody wants to do it. let alone watch somebody on CZcams do it. It's something I always skip because there is really no need for it in this game because bomb and arrow drops are are plentiful. Besides this run was as mechanically perfect as any speed run I've ever seen
Formidable !!!!! J'aie vraiment aimer vous regarder jouer !!!!! Tant de souvenirs !!! Congrats !!!! From Senegal !!!!!!
Ese juego fue lo Maximo!!!! Gracias por el video y los buenos recuerdos!!!! Gamer forever !!! xD
Those boomerang throws at 1:34:34 They are so perfect!
37:51 Use hammer and sprint at the same time? Nice.
fuckin' awesome, never knew this was a thing
Exactly.. Who thinks of such a genius combination!! 🤔.. This awesome gamer!!😁
Wait, you can get the magic boomerang from a chest in the town without using the G.Fairy?!?! How did I never know this?
Thought the same thing. Which one is faster to get, though?
何気なく高度なことやってますね~
This is what superhero mode is like. Bravo bravo on this domination of one of my top 5 games of all time!
Me pone melancólico el gran final, justo cuando link regresa la espada a su lugar. 😭
I wanna scream every time you run by a chest lol. Amazing run though and congrats on the world record for this category.
Nice memories, nice run
Soooo FAST I love it! RPG's were my bible for personal development. Growing your life, building your knowledge and skills. It made me who I am today. It made me financially free so I can explore the world for real. I was bad in school but I did understand the idea behind RPG's. Great lessons I have learned in these games!! I still regret that I sold my snes with all my RPG's!!!
Merci pour tout ces souvenirs.
Love this game !
This game will always be a treasure to me
Nice run brother ^^
Whoa nice! That shield block at 57:00
Insane how good this guy is!
2 and a half years later and this record is still unbeaten. Nice!
Edit: comment outdated
At 1:19:21 so far, this is amazing. This type of run was unfathomable at 5-10 years old 😂
3:15
Green Guard: "Well shit. Should I follow them? NAH. What am I, a red armor javelin guard?
Well. After 1.5 hrs I also had 100%...finished the sand dungeon so...there it is.
Incredible run. Some of your boss strats are better than some TAS's I've seen!
There are like legit 1-frame-link fighting game combos in this run. Good stuff.
I love this game and this video!
One of the greatest if not the greatest game of all time! Memories...
Wow 25 years i ended this my first zelda adventure. Thank you uploader
Great Job Xelna!
Very Enjoyable!
what a game, and what a speedrun!
1:41:07 You can hit ganon twice when he jumps, one more time on the way down.
I use your run as a basis for when I do this. I don't know how to force the glitches and stuff, but I use your plan of attack when I try to run this game.
Victor Vogel its funny ive just spent tons of play throughs building my route and wanted to see how this compared. Its incredibly satisfying to see him take the same paths through dungeons
Very nostalgic :)
ハートの欠片も、全部取ってくれたのが、すごく良かった😺
When you have two hours to spare before work lol
Or during work. :D

I can’t believe I beat this game in the 90’s with no guides or anything
ive played this so many times as a child. best zelda.
My guy, you got skill!
I needed 5 years for this game as a child. xD
I remember watching my older brother and he needed several months. lol
it shares some sfxs with Metroid. the mood of background sounds also more serious and adding some reverb to the sounds. and the sounds here are more of realistic instruments such trumpet , piano , string , brass. really blendy . are kids able to recognise these things i mentioned on their ages? cause I couldn't
Crazy to think we have still yet to make a better game to this day
Damn dude you slappin this game so hard rn lol
The best video game ever made.
What a Master piece of a game.
i play it for months, here only 2hours, amazing
22:51 : really impressed, this sworm is such a nightmare
I have watched the entire video : Like a God !
idiot
Ah - very relaxing! And helped me get to know *The legend of Zelda* .
50:00 Link teaches kids its ok to burglarize peoples houses as long as they're not home. 😆
Link is a proud member of the "If It's Not Nailed Down" club
do you see ! it's mario's house haha
@@MonkeyDFrank-rq9gx The man on the painting is wearing a hat/cap with a letter "H", not "M" for Mario. I want to believe that the house belong to the then-president of Nintendo, Hiroshi Yamauchi.
Amazing how i watched my dad play this back then when i was a kid and i still remember a lot of it..
Good job my man!! We've been talking about your success in MTL :P
Best game ever made imo. And nice run.
What will happen if you pick up the blue armor after the red armor?
That is an excellent question.
For me this is THE BEST game I ever played, even compared with today. Without fancy graphic, the developer can give a real adventure in it. I remember I finished the game back then without walkthrough like this with almost perfect (missed 1 heart live, can't find it in the digging mini game)
That was the best Helmasaur King kill I've ever seen!
Bro the first boss fight was so smooth

I enjoyed very well, thx
So much clever shit in this run man
Will be forever a beautiful game style and the best feeling climate. Mistyc game with celtic culture influence.
Impressive run! + 1 sub
