Immersive Translate is an AI tool that’s made language translation so much easier for me. It’s definitely worth checking out.
This is really good. I've been playing with a few different ways of transcribing, including among others, using some Vosk libraries with Python, playing an audio file into MS Word dictation via Virtual Audio Cable. Out of all the different free pieces of software I have used, this does by far the best transcription. Also, like the MS Word dictation it applies formatting to the text which definitely saves time. I did notice that the larger the library you pick, the longer it takes, but the better the formatting is. The thing that impressed me the most was when using it on files with really bad audio. I downloaded some sample files to test the different pieces of software and one of them was of really poor quality. Most of the pieces of software only picked up the occasional word. Buzz, using the small library, took 1m 57s to transcribe this 1m 45s file, with only a few words that it hadn't understood. The site I downloaded it from was demonstrating how good they were at transcribing poor quality audio, but the Buzz transcription was far better than the commercial offering. This is a fantastic piece of software. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks, before I installed Whisper with Python and used it by terminal (cmd). But with Buzz it´s great to have a GUI. And it looks like, Buzz is a lot more faster in trancribtion. A 30min Test-mp3-file to transcribe it with the medium-model (language german, on my PC-Hardware) it took only 15min.(perhaps 1:4 trancribtion time of the video lenght). On the Python-version,(same file, same hardware) took 45-80min.
Wow, ok! I transcribed the file again, a few minutes ago. The recognition in Buzz is much more precise and correct (in german) with less misstakes, than the Python version. I´m impressed. 🤣
Wow that's impressive I don't know tho for me it would probably take less than 3 minutes to transcribe a 30 minutes audio, it all depends on your PC's specs buy hey, it works. Glad you find it useful 😊 also try SubtitleEdit is also another great tool with more features!
and you arent sending a bunch of information to a companies external API that is undoubtedly storing that data for commercial use, who is working with Microsoft, who has a history of ethics violations
I just bought the Buzz app for Mac - I am trying to translate Japanese audio to English - I used base size model and it was very poor - around 20% accuracy. I should add that the Japanese is discussing karate which is very difficult to understand. I just tried the Large whisper model and the difference is enormous - about 95% accuracy. So it does work I think good enough for movie subtitles. Now I will try Chinese audio!

Avast Antivirus won't allow installation, it has to be turned off or put into passive mode to enable installation.
Sadly BUZZ has issues has issues with using GPU for making transcription. I used it for a few months but it had many issues. If anyone has good Whisper AI with decent GUI please let me know.
Hi, yeah you are right, I have noticed the lag, it was working fine the time I recorded this video, but then it's been getting worse in terms of stability, you might wanna downgrade to an older version preferably the one I was using in the video, I think it was stable. Or try other alternative, I always recommend using SubtitleEdit it's been in market for quite sometime it's an open source and got more complex UI they do support whisper and more. Hope this helps 😊

There are some apps that can do that for you, buzz can do exactly what you asked for, also depending on the source and target languages of the video. You can try these extensions for CZcams videos only.
1.Ultimate Video Translator: This is a Chrome extension that can translate CZcams videos using Google Translate. You can choose from over 100 languages and watch the subtitles in real time. You can also download the subtitles or share the video links on social networks.
2.LiveTL: This is another Chrome extension that can filter translations for live streams on CZcams. You can select your preferred language and translators, and ban spammers from the chat. You can also resize the chat, translation panel, and stream to your liking.
Im looking for the same tool. The best option for now is the subtitles that comes with windows 11 live captions, any other program i have downloaded doesn't work at all. Only for CZcams :( @@vsbiby2000

is there any way to download the models for actual offline use? Because the download process of the models take hours during every video I try to translate.
Yes you actually have to download the model you want only once, and then it'd only take a few seconds to translate. The medium and large models can be really big up to 3gb I think. I'd recommend you go with you base model it's small in size.

Good tutorial and good application. However, it would be important if we could listen to the voice of a video by translating it into this new voice. Hey there, thanks for commenting, The app does support translating, but that wouldn't be live, you can burn the subtitles onto your video later in the post production. Also the app does support video files, however some types of files may not be supported, make sure your file is MP4 or MKV or anything that the app supports. Another suggestion is you can use anotehr app called "SubtitleEdit", it's free and open source, I would say it's much better than BUZZ, and also supports the same modles Hugging face, and oppen AI whisper, and much more the app comes with so many different features that you can't find on BUZZ, I highly reccommend you checking it out.

Can I play an audio file on my laptop while this app runs and do the transcribing? How accurate is it with spelling ?
hi there, I am afraid not. you can open the audio from an external device and have your mic listen to the audio, however, that won't be so accurate as some parts of the audio may not be so clear for the mic to pick up. I suggest that you download the audio and transcribe it just like I did instead. As for your second question, the spelling should be 100% accurate. :) hope that answers your question.

Hello there the hugging face and whisper are two different technologies for example Whisper is an automatic speech recognition (ASR) system trained on 680,000 hours of multilingual and multitask supervised data collected from the web. It is a leap from the existing speech recognition technologies. Hugging Face is an open-source and platform provider of machine learning technologies.
As for the base and tiny, are the data size of the model you are using tiny is less than the base in simple words base would give more accurate transcription since it has more data in it as compared to tiny.

not sure about hipaa with Buzz. I trained the voice recognition software at a medical facility and we used Fluency Direct because it has a large medical vocabulary database.

Well there is nothing 100% accurate, it depends on your accent and how clear you speak. I'd say it's 90% accurate. The rest you have to correct manually.
And yes transcription sites do accept AI tools there is nothing wrong with it. But you have to make sure you have the correct structure like placing the (comma, dot, brackets...etc) so you always have to do something manually.

Why is it if I uplaod .mp3, 28 mins. and 18MB only. I use Whisper, Large. My laptop lags, the status of the transcription is going to queued, and failed.
I think there is a problem using the large model, I haven't tried it tho, try using the base or the medium model!

thanks, other models can be downloaded within the app you don't need to download them manually, you can simply select the model like "tiny, base. medium..etc" and the app will take care of the rest. If you want my advice try downloading the base or tiny models. they're good enough and small in size. other models like the large 10 GB which will take a lot of time to download and might slow down your pc depending on your PC's specs. Functionally, did someone basically use whisper to create their own language models external to whisper so people dont have to creepily send more private information they may need translated to a companies API who is undoubtedly storing an analyzing the information their API receives? I work with a group that has about 30 hours of transcribing needed and this sounds like the perfect solution where I still need to edit what I need but also a lot of the heavy lifting is done.

Yes, you can do that! However there is another tool you can use it's called SubtitleEdit it has more functionalities than this one. And it has a built in burn on subtitle so you don't have to do extra work after you get your SRT files.

Hey bro, is it possible to setup this up for my audio output? Figured I could use it as a rough translator for gaming.
Good idea, you may be able to, but it wouldn't function perfectly. The live transcription sometimes have some issues and the app might freeze from time to time. I wouldn't recommend it that way.
does this also give the audio file ? What i would like is to record long (2 hours) lectures session (i have the permission from my teacher), so i want at the same time the transcription that you make BUT also the audio file (so I can relisten to it if there's mistakes or formula that did'nt translate well ) etc.
Do you mean that you want to record the audio within buzz? if so, the answer is no, it doesn't record audio. it only transcribes audio. but what you can do is record using a different software and transcribe using buzz at the same time. I would recommend you to record the audio first and then transcribe it, that way you will get a better transcription quality than the live transcription.

Hello there, thanks for commenting. If you have an audio file you don't have to use the live transcription feature. You can just upload it and transcribe the whole thing.
Not sure if the live transcription feature could pick the audio played from your PC, but you can play it from an external device and have your mic listen to it that way it will sure work.

1. I have lecture notes on a podcast that is hosted online, on a public website. I do not own the website nor the audio on the website.
2. I want to transcribe the conversation in the podcast that is hosted online. Thus, I only have the link the website where you can listen to the podcast.
3. Thus, if I only have the link and not the audio file, such as an mp3, can this service/software take the link of where the audio is and transcribe it?
That is what I am asking. I hope the example is clear.
@@LouYorkLife @DaFamTV this app can't take the link and transcribe it. You can do the following options:
1. You download the mp3 somehow and transcribe it, which is the easiest way.
2. You play it from another device and let your mic pick the sound and do the live transcription.
3. There is another app the can transcripe with more options and it's called "SubtitleEdit" it's an open source software and they support the same transcription models and even more. They do have the link 🔗 to transcribe option as well. Not sure if it works depending on the website you're using. Give it a try and let me know.

It's great but for some reason mine stopped working with an error whilst downloading the large version, now I tried to reinstall it but it just won't fix anything. Do you know what I should do?
You don't actually need the large model, I'd normally go with the base model and I get 95% accuracy. But if you insist then you can download the model from their main website and manually paste in the correct location.

Thsi won't work on phones, there are other tools for creating subtitles for your video like capcut, autocap, and vrew.

What file format does this software import?
Mp4 and mkv, wav, mp3 they all work fine, if you have a large file size video, convert that video to an mp3 that way you only get the audio to transcribe because that's all you really need. Hope that helps 🙏

@@thuanhoang7418 oh that's simple, when you click on the plus ➕ icon to import the program automatically only detects mp3 or wav folders that's why you don't see your Mp4 to see your Mp4 folder in the file explorer window there is a drop down menu for the file extensions click on it and select all files that way it'll show you all your files including the Mp4. Let me know if that works.

Hey there I tested the latest version last two weeks and it was actually really stable. But the version before it was not so good. I think it depends on the version try downgrading, or upgrading to another version and see if it's stable for your PC. Another option you have is another app called SubtitleEdit, try it it's a really rich feature app and it also has openAI and hugging face models for transcription.

hey there, thanks for commenting you can technically use it for live transcription however it's not the best one for that as the app may crash in the middle of your meeting or something. you can record your meeting then transcribe it after that. or you can use one of these apps that are actually made for that:
1. Otter.ai is a live transcription tool that can be used with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. It offers a free plan for up to 600 minutes of transcription per month, as well as paid plans for more transcription time and features.

UMMM windows defender was like... nope not going to let you. I though micrsoft and open AI were in this together. Maybe the Man microsoftie dose not like that it is free... pues... no se..
LOL, yeah Microsoft and Open AI are in this together but the app you downloaded has nothing to do with Microsoft. it's an open-source app that uses Open AI models, it's normal for the defender to detect it. you just download it anyway and there shouldn't be any issue. :)

well, you're in luck because it actually can translate From English to many languages but not ANY language lol. They have a list of languages that are supported, you can check it for yourself! :)
@@Ali.abdlkareem I’m actually using it right now. I’m using the Large v2 model, which can translate from any language to English. However, it can’t translate from English to any other language. It only works from any language to English, not the other way around. :-)
Nevertheless, I found a software that can translate to any language, much better than whisper, and it is called nllb200. It works offline, but the only thing is, it is very hard to install. At least, I managed to make it work after spending a lot of time figuring out how to do it.
@@Ali.abdlkareem I’m sorry, I think you did not understand what I meant. What I meant was, the Whisper AI model does not support translating from English to another language. It only supports translating from 100 other languages into English, but NOT from English to 100 different languages. Nevertheless, I found NLLB200. It is very hard to install and needs a lot of code, but it works pretty well and perfectly fine. I can now translate any language into any of the 200 different languages, better than Google Translate. The downside is, it uses a lot of RAM, or VRAM if you are going to use GPU. Anyway, thank you for your video. You are the reason why I realized that it is possible.
@PredictAnythingSoftware Oh sorry for the misunderstanding, Well, in that case, I recommend you use another open-source software that is based on the same models called SUBTITLE-EDIT. You might want to check it out, they have more options, and I think it does support translating from English to other languages.
