Another way to combat flinch is to aim slightly above the head, and drag your reticle down onto their head as you're being flinched. Not sure why it works, but it is much more consistent than praying you land your shot otherwise

im on mnk and i have hit some wild shots throu flinch i basicly disregard it now if you know how you sniper flinches and ageinst what it is not bad a t all
I noticed that, too. Also doing the 1,2 thing and have for some time but you can also make flinch work in your favour though. If you get shot by a hc and are aimed at the body just fire after the 1st hit. For some reason flinch will flinch you onto the crit when you're not aiming at it.
nice video! the fact that most player aren't familiar in easy things like being creative in ur positioning, and thinking before making a play or committing is what separates nice players from goats. its nice that someone finally try and tell the community that, its a really nice advice.

Ive gotten so used to swapping to my primary after sniping it took me 7 control matches to get the sniper medal for the deadeye seal 😅 very hard to get rid of muscle memory but it was worth it because you can allways re develop that muscle memory.
Take a shot everytime Awake compliments that spot. Lol, Great video though! It touches a lot of mistakes new snipers make, and has plenty of good info on laning and angles, as well as unpredictability for sniping vets. Love it.

I would also like to argue that just alone on controller it is night and day difference when getting that aim assist to pull you to the headshot when being flinched; I use to play on controller years ago and have enjoyed more learning M&K. The problem still lies that with M&K you can react faster, but your accuracy plummets because the lack of aim-assist. My favorite weapon back during Forsaken DLC was the Curated roll Twilight Oath; pair that with double dodge/reload weapons and you can go for those quick scopes.
Yeah there’s pros and cons to both inputs. There’s also a lot of very good mnk snipers that can do anything a controller can just a bit less consistently.
@@Awake_wl A good controller player will beat that good PC player 10/10 though, especially if that controller player has a side arm or smg to follow up only seeing gold numbers
@@matthewhardin939arguable. on pc pulse rifles, handcannons, and pretty much every primary weapon are better due to a centered reticle (on console for whatever reason it’s lower) i play both and i can say pc is easier
Can’t agree more I used too play controller too and hit every single snipe every time now I’ve gotten back in too destiny and play m&k an the sniping is def harder I still hit shots but not as many as I did years ago on the controller

I beat yunger and surs recently in trials, my crouch spam strafe was making them miss every snipe, I was using igneous conditional

Cloud strike hits through flinch. I’ve hit so many shots where the bullet is clearly in the sky but it gave me a headshot.

You should make a video about maps and angles on maps
I'm not incredible at Destiny, but i have generally been above average at FPS games, sometimes even great. IMO the most important tip in this video, even outside of sniping, is the "Holding Angles" section. I can source things from chess, war, anecdotal experience, pretty much whatever. But being unpredictable, especially in positioning is a *HUGE* leg up and that's a fact. If I had to ELI5 it, it would be, they cant hit first shot if they're confused where the fuck you even are, and split seconds matter in low TTK games.
What are your thoughts on firmly planted? I see you slide snipe a lot and was wondering if you have experimented with it and if you did, was it’s impact felt?
personally firmly planted is nearly god tier for me. up there with moving target.

It’s ok if you don’t hit your shots at first but as you keep trying you’ll eventually get better and better and become more accurate
Once you’ve become accurate then you can become precise
And once you become precise you’ll see just how far you’ve improved
If my frames didn't constantly go from 144 to 60 back and forth, in pretty sure my shots would land 2x or 3x more often

Also for the radar thing, is knuckle head radar good as a hunter sniper? Take advantage bc it's in the game or does it build bad habits. And are T-Steps great for sniping since you can get to and from lanes quicker. Especially if you already have high handling guns.

What do you think about higher zoom snipers? First things like uzume adept at 50, but then occluded finality having a massive hitbox to make up for it's crazy zoom? Either worth using you think? Any super sweats use high zoom?
Zooms getting tanked. Not sure about the aa that's tied to that. But rangefinder and zoom getting nerfed next season
@@colinvanhorne3795 from what bungie's saying, it should be a good thing for snipers. They're taking away the range from zoom, and aim assist zoom gives will make up for that. That might even mean buffed aim assist on high zoom snipes. And uzume I believe is one of the highest, if not THE highest range adaptive frame sniper, while having a reasonable 50 zoom

Thoughts on using blink?(arc hunter)
I main an elemental cap ss occluded so yeah need to play arc. But I don't use stompees
I don’t think blink is very good on hunter but on warlock w the Astrocyte helmet it can be pretty decent
Im want to model my game after you lol. Been working my way up to 18 sence on controller. Playing warlock do you prefer t steps for movement or ophidians for quicker swapping
I prefer ophidians but t steps are good too

It actually befuddles me how people dont know how to snipe in close range. Yes, the sniper is a weapon designed for obscenely long ranges, with high damage, and a really strong zoom. Doesnt mean you cant snipe in close range. I see snipers panic too much when people push them. Ive long gotten used to sniping at long ranges, because I also used to panic when getting pushed. But then one day it all clicked. One day i realized just how easy it is to snipe in close range. I instaswap to my immortal and just shit on them. Problem solved.
What is your favourite Sniper and Hand Cannon combo for PvP and which sub class is your favourite?
I like Pali and eye of sol the most probably, I’ve always like arc warlock but not as much after arc 3.0 but still probably my favorite overall

Yeah I bounced around between pc and ps5 but pc is just easier to record things on
yea... this is controller sniping. PC sniping does not work this way. Its infinitely harder to do any of these movements and have it land. Like youre a god damn GOAT no doubt. PC makes sniping very unforgiving.
What about controler sensitivity? I play in console, which sensitivity should i use?

Even on controller it can be rough trying to learn how to snipe. The biggest thing is crosshair placement which easily converts from kbm to controller and vice versa, this is why kbm players can make videos of them sniping on controller and still play decently.

I dont understand your sniping. So many of your shots, if I were to do the same ones, I would get missed. Your snipers have aim assist cones, where you can miss slightly and bullets will bend and hit. I don’t have this in my game and I don’t understand. It’s not just you, all CZcamsrs I watch snipe, they miss by a good bit and get hits. I miss by 1/4 of a pixel and I get no damage
Sorry, but using a OS sniper with a controller takes almost 0 skill and effort let alone a hard play style.
