This was not an isolated incident to an Indian Family
    1) After this case, they jailed parents of a young boy from Hyderabad. The father worked with TCS.
    2) They took away two children in 2018 from Indian parents until our Embassy and Foreign Ministry intervened.
    3) A mother already dealing with an autistic child, Barnevernet doesn't offer counselling. They just kidnap children. One of the psychiatrist who used to go on these supervised visits is now a convicted child offender. Are you aware of these facts?
    4) In every custody battle, every father blames mother. The truth is he chose to stay back in a country which kidnapped his children. But, the mother came back and raised her children, one of whom is autistic. IMAGINE !

While you are asking your audience to remember that the father said that his wife was mentally unstable you too need to mention the following
    1. The father suddenly took this stance 3 days before the verdict in the Norwegian court when he was planning to file for divorce. He was miraculously silent about his wife's alleged mental health issues till then
    2. If she did have mental health issues why did he not treat it ?
    3. The news articles of the time had quoted several senior indian government officers and ministers calling out the husband for converting the custody issue to a marital one .
    3. The wife has been repeatedly assessed by top psychiatrists in government hospital in India and found to have no mental health issues as alleged by the husband and the Norwegian authorities. So it is fair to say that it is about cultural differences for Norwegian authorities and a very selfish sinister stance by the husband to use this unfortunate situation for his divorce case.
    4. This wonderful father has not visited his kids even once for the past 10 years.

    1) BBC program on Child Welfare service of Norway
    2) They especially target unpolished immigrants, because they are easy to prey upon. They took a child away from a chinese mother because her mother came to look after the young child. So, they assumed she is not fit to raise the child.
    3) Please look up at videos of mothers whose children are being kidnapped by Emergency Care Department directly from school.
    4) They took away a child from a mother because he was one pound underweight

That couldn't be further from th he truth. In Norway they DO expect people to follow their culture in some aspects.
Other aspects people should leave their culture in their own home countries. In ex. it is/was normal in India to give kids slap for misbehaving, it's no tolerance policy here, so you can't follow that aspect of your culture. In some countries it's normal to perform female genital mutilation. Google it, it's in their culture, but it will have your kids taken away, if you do it in Norway and say it is our culture. In some culture it's normal to marry upto four wives. That part of culture and religion, you just can't do in Norway, and say it's our culture. It's about respecting the law in the country your are in.
I can give one example about respect for the country you reside in. Swastika had great meaning for us, symbol means a lot to us, including me. We have Swastika all over the place, on our home. It's personal matter.
But...Swastika was for less than 100 yrs ago, used by Hitler. Lot of cruelty happened under the second world war. Swastika was the symbol Hitler used. Some of the people living then are still alive. Europe hasn't gotten over the second world war yet. Maybe in another hundred years or something, world will see.
Swastika is our symbol, our culture, give us happiness. Still you will not see, in general, indian Hindus living here, using it in public. Not as a tattoo, not in the chain around the neck or print on the clothes. You will never see it outside our temples, inside yes, but not outside. In this case it's not about the law, it's about respect for their sentiments. Swastika is our culture and part of our religion, but we don't portray it in public. Same goes for the things that are against the law in Norway. You can't blame everything on culture and cultural differences.
You have nothing to fear, if you just follow the law.
      Just saying.

Free education, mostly free health care. If I get sick, I don't need to worry about how I am going to afford the treatment. I don't need to worry about my kid not getting higher education, because our financial situation. Large donations and tuitions isn't needed for them to become something. If it was in India, even your maids son could become doctor without paying anything.

Best way is through channels like sportsclub parents, your work colleagues, maybe your neighbors through your own kids playing. Through some party you attend, where you start an interesting conversation about something.
Direct connection can be difficult, but once you get to know them, through those channels, they are very kind and friendly.

I have been living in the United States since 27 + years. Not too long ago, in the United States Indian parenting was looked from different lenses and perspectives. As time passed they saw the value in Indian parenting style and now Indian Americans come under one of the most successful community in the United States. USA has evolved to recognize family, cultural values and bonding with kids is needed for the country to become stronger. Recent survey shows 50% American kids over 18yr stay home ( first time ever in recent history of America) and divorce rate has gone significantly down in recent years. Percentage increases in Seniors living with children rather in assisted living.
Norvey would change it's views on how to raise children in coming few years because indian culture teaches to co- exist with other cultures. When 2nd generation kids like Ava, Nishtha and others shine in Norvey/ world making a difference in a Norwegian society. No one wins a gold medel in Olympics because they have best etiquette. But, many Indians don’t dare to speak about these problems. They comprise their dignity and self-respect over material gains. Also Norway child care facility is involved in litigation with EU human rights for children up bringing. It has lost 43 of 68 cases on child upbringing in EU human rights commission. Educating the viewers is a great thing. After watching movie, I watched quite few videos on NDTV channel and it does supports what I saw in the movie. Norway may be good now but has done a catastrophic emotional damage especially to a mother. It's not acceptable. I am in favor as you mention on last part of the video separating kids from mother is not acceptable and ask them to leave the country and raise the kids on your own country. Furthermore, it supports the theory they are running human trafficking by taking away kids. Non-immigrant living in your country does not give rights to you to take away someones kids. You have right to kick them out (That is your right as a #norway country). After watching this movie, I will #boycottnorway products, services and would never visit the country. Why not bring the charges against their parents first, give them a chance to defend against those charges especially if their is no proven sign of physical or sexual violence. Let them defend and then take away their children. Because without prior notice taking away children is kidnapping , authority is supposed to give notice even before they take your car but no notice in case of kids. Its shameful and deceitful.

      Wth!!
This is NOT happening with every immigrant families. I am an immigrant, and lived in Norway for 40 yrs, and don't personally know even one family, Norwegian or immigrant, who has had their kids taken away. In 40 yrs of living!!!
Infact i have witnessed, as pediatric nurse, few cases where kids have been taken away. Due to Munchausen by proxy, physical abuse resulting in brain damage and death, injuries to kids body that doesn't fit the reason given. In my line of work.
      So please.
I am NOT against this particular mother. I don't know the entire story. Maybe it was indeed just a misunderstanding, between parents and the system. Maybe the mother has told the story accurately. My problem is that there is no way to know the entire truth because it's only mothers side, with maybe a touch of Bollywood masala. I mean there has to be other things.
My own problem with this is that the reason given in this trailer doesn't make sense.
I mean Co-sleeping is NOT prohibited in Norway (it's not recommended due to safety precautions, but it's not prohibited. My own kid ended up in our bed, almost every night, until she was about 7-8 yrs old, despite having her own bed in her own room.
Feeding with hands is NOT prohibited. Unless it's being done forcefully, and not even giving the kid time to swollow, due to risk of choking. Hand feeding is NOT prohibited.
Wth, using tikka in public isn't against the law, I have personally done that multiple times, myself and my kids, and did not loose my kids. Even being on a playground, with multiple others families. There was one instance where a parent told me to check out my kid, since she thought I maybe hadn't seen that. She told me that, I think your kid fell, there is blood on the forehead. I told her that it was a religious tikka made with sindhoor and water. It maybe looked like blood from afar, but isn't. She said oh I see, and that was that. No family on the playground turned us in. Because tikka isn't prohibited.
Edit: yes, EVERY FAMILY risks loosing their kids if abuse is suspected. Immigrant or Norwegian. Doesn't matter.

I am glad you didn’t have any such bad experience , but that doesn’t mean Berneverent were right in what they did with Mrs Sagarika. To me they seem like kidnappers. Why taking the kids away is the only solution ? Why can’t govt assign help and counseling to parents and get things better even if there is anything wrong . What the f is wrong with this institution ? And do they have any concern about the trauma kids might go through for their entire life to be changed in one single moment ?

Pls make a separate video on the parenting culture of Norway.
Why did the Norwegian authorities find children sleeping in same bed of parents or children being hand fed by parents as some irresponsible behaviour.
For us it is a bonding activity and they will have some different view on it.
We need to know their view also.
Movie may be showing only a mother's perspective since it is based on a novel written by the mother.
The whole experience would have been very traumatic for the mother, the father and the children especially since suddenly one fine day they are picked up and put in a foster care away from their parents.

I only speak Ukrainian. I am using google translator. Therefore, please excuse me if the translation is bad! I am from Western Ukraine. I am a nurse and I save lives. I live now in Germany. I need a lawyer to file, with other disabled citizens of Ukraine, a lawsuit against Norway. My husband, a Ukrainian (oil worker, human rights activist) became disabled as a result of his defense of the rights of other people (Norwegian and Russian media for 9 years). My husband fought corruption in the Russian oil giant, which was headed by the founder of the 6th Directorate of the FSB and the ex-Chancellor of Germany. My husband defended the rights of disabled people and Ukrainians in Norway against Russian-speaking citizens of this NATO country. The Norwegians took my disabled husband to Moscow AFTER: anti-war pickets of my husband in the Russian Federation, his defense of the rights of Ukrainians in Norway, the issuance of documents to my husband by the Norwegian Red Cross for his close relatives (Polish servicemen repressed by the Russians), sentencing his defender to prison (in married to a citizen of Finland for 25 years) in Belarus, who reported the crime of the Norwegians against the Ukrainians and was recognized as a Political prisoner. My husband and his lawyer warned the Norwegians about the coming war, but they did not believe him. The husband was kidnapped and the war began. And after the war began, the Norwegians do NOT admit their mistakes! Unlike the Swedes, the Norwegians DO NOT LIKE to admit their mistakes even when the Chechen refugees deported by the Norwegians were killed in the Russian Federation (Norwegian media).

We are wondering why in Norway, BEFORE the war in Ukraine, provided, at the expense of Norwegian taxpayers, asylum to citizens of the Russian Federation who have a second citizenship of Ukraine? For example, the Jehovah's Witnesses in Ukraine were not threatened at all! And the payment of the state fee for renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship, in order to acquire citizenship of the Russian Federation, NEVER led to the loss of Ukrainian citizenship. After the correspondence of the Ukrainian anti-corruption fighters with the Norwegian police about specific religious "refugees" who received asylum in Norway (the "refugees" had 2 citizenships), the deportation of disabled Ukrainians to the Russian Federation followed, BUT they had a family in Ukraine! Collective deportation, strictly prohibited by law, was subjected to those Ukrainians - fighters against corruption, who reported, BEFORE the war, about the facts of granting asylum to Russian citizens in Norway, as religious "refugees". These "refugees" had, among other things, a Ukrainian passport (and there was no war in Ukraine then, and Jehovah's Witnesses in Ukraine were very happy)))

Family members of Ukrainians have not seen each other for more than 3 years. Ukrainians are ready to sign an agreement with a lawyer, according to which the lawyer will receive ANY part of the winnings he wants.

It was okay to give them to adoption if mother was not fighting or they were orphans but it was not the case here. The country did not have the right to claim Indias citizen as their own. I am shocked that while they claimed that they were helping the kids, didn't they realise how a small boy was feeling because they separated him from his mother. A small baby got separated from her mother. Your country should be ashamed of this the trauma you all have caused to the kids by not standing up against your contrie's law. It doesn't matter how your people justify this but it has shown us that I am not going to bring my child or myself to your country never. If we want to live peacefully with our children then we should not go and live in Norway even for just traveling because this country can take your child away even if they are not a citizen of their country.

I'm not Indian, but German, which is a culture much closer related to the Norwegian than the Indian is.
But even then this created huge problems. What also the movie shows is that the vast majority of the Norwegians doesn't consider other cultures as equal in term of their value. They look down on almost everything that is different from Norwegian standard.
In our case they denied us to raise our children bilingual, which is stupid beyond all imagination.
And it doesn't take more than a misunderstood story of a 6 year old with much fantasy to get you into real trouble. The most people working for barnevernet are not really competent enough for their work, but still have enough power to destroy families and existences for ever.
The legal system is very much biased, at least on the level of the fylkesnemnda, which almost always stands on the side of barnevernet. Which isn't hard to understand as they both work for the same authority.
Even though we have never been accused officially, it became very unpleasant over the years. As a foreigner, you should never try to criticize a Norwegian, they will take revenge for that. And they know how to do that by using barnevernet against parents.
After some years we decided to move away from Norway to Sweden, which was the best decision we could make. People in Sweden are much nicer than the cold hearted Norwegians.
And it's better to live without fear, which wasn't possible for us in Norway anymore.

as a norwegian I must say that first of all I do not see down on other cultures, we have a standard and we recognize that other cultures have some advantages and other negative ways.
But I can't speak for all ... only me.
That said, when it comes about multi-lingual and children .. that sounds not correct... I'm sure you have experienced it but it sounds like very very strange because I know children here where I live that are atleast speaking 3 languages .. and that is from the kindergarden and out.
Because there are so many languages and like I have sit here at the library lissening how the children talk they speak and switch between all 3 languages like it was one.. and they understand eachother.
I remember when we where younger and I and my friend used to talk and when we where speaking about things that the kids where not to lissen to, we used to switch to english .. these days however the kids understand if not all but very much english and can both lissen and speak english and quite often Lithauanian or Russian, or even Thai.
That is my experience with children and other languages than Norwegian.... these children are often either having 1 or 2 parents of other nationalities, but also some of the norwegian children atleast speak english and norwegian from kindergarden and up.

And they were talking down on us all the time. In all papers they wrote down a lower grade of education than we actually have, even if we mentioned that every time.

Really good video. I was planning to talk about this too on a similar case which happened in Germany - I believe it is very easy to agitate the Indian population emotionally and that's of course, what these one sided stories and movies try to do - 'things are horrible abroad - jaisa bhi ho, apna desh sabsa badhiya' which is a very ignorant view on the entire thing.
I have friends and family with small children in their families and taking away somebody's child doesn't happen randomly or easily - the people work on children welfare cases also know that. (Nobody I know has their children taken away from Germany, Denmark or anywhere else I know people in Europe).
I only know one case from Germany about the child being taken away from their parents, I have also watched the interview of the parents and anybody who watches the interview with a completely rational mind would simply understand that not everything is being told there and everything is being given a dramatic look.
I am not a parent yet, so I don't know - but I also know that there are definitely people in the world (not talking about this case) where the parents didn't deserve to have that child, but somehow that notion alone - that parents can also have their own mortal faults - is completely disregarded in India.

The last dialogue in the trailer "Main achhi hu, ya buri hun pata nahi, but main Maa hun" Is a very bad dialogue. You are right, not everyone deserves to be a parent. A bad mother is bad. Just giving birth is not enough. I also live in Germany and I speak with friends and cousins in India who still believe hitting kids is perfectly normal, and hitting kids even once in Germany is a big legal offense. I was recently in India and I saw how my friends were force feeding their grown up kids. Instead we have never force fed our kids and they tell us when they are hungry and eat well on their own from 1-2 year old. So when Indians say Europeans should understand their culture, they should also learn the culture of the place where they are living. Also hitting kids is not a culture we have to be proud of.

Finally some sensible voice. Naturally the girl seemed from a town in India where identity of a person as a mother is above everything else. Moreover the girl/woman seemed to be very adamant about her rights as a mother with zero sensitivity towards where she is actually raising her kids. In another European city women, raised in India, noticed that no baby ever cries in public..pin drop silence in trains, train station , airport and cinema hall, markets. We felt this is very unnatural but we recognized this difference and tried to ensure babies maintain this 'locally prevalent' respect for silence. Would agree deporting the mother back to India would be the better option, in case few mothers are unable to follow local customs. But who knows maybe that is interfering with human rights of the father to work in the eyes of Norway govt.Norway govt and couple of other European govt have very good child welfare system. This helps children who are born in families with DV, alcoholism, single parent etc..We hope such systems are available in India, so that each Indian child can be given a peaceful environment to grow up. The amount of help European govt give handicap parents so that they can enjoy parenthood is really commendable.

India has no such parent evaluation department. If we did, we would put up a different argument. Many Norway white citizen parents too could be evaluated and not found ideal. Children in India are not seen as citizen needing state care or state protection. We all assume parents can never ever hurt their kids.
If there was discriminatory treatment because of skin color alone we need to alert the Indian government to take note.
I suggest we need to have parent screening departments in India too. Child is the future citizen of a country, if he is not raised as per ideal standards he or she becomes a burden to the state, apart from harming innocent others.
