More than eight months into Israel's devastating assault on Gaza, the territory's healthcare system is barely functioning, with the World Health Organization reporting this week that there have been 464 Israeli attacks on Gaza's healthcare system since October 7, affecting 101 health facilities. Gaza's Health Ministry warns that the few remaining hospitals still partially functioning could completely shut down due to Israel's near-total blockade of the territory, which is keeping out parts needed to maintain hospital diesel generators, as well as crucial medical supplies. Over 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's war on Gaza, and nearly 85,000 Palestinians have been wounded. "The situation in Gaza … remains catastrophic," says Dr. James Smith, an emergency medical doctor just back from Gaza, where he treated patients for nearly two months. "There are no fully functional hospitals any longer in Gaza and no health facilities that are able to absorb the sheer scale of need now."

This is just a wild thought. Considering things/experiences in my own life and working towards reconciliation and healing. If the judges can't do anything or the politicians or the fighters. What about one of a potential of groups or individuals who might have some positive input. The hostages who are alive and free ? I understand some, many - maybe all will be too traumatised to even think of having even a shred of resonance with the Palestinians they encountered - those who were suffering too - as human beings. Was there ever a point, amongst the myriad nightmarish thoughts where you wondered - "WHY - why the suffering, death - insanity ?' Where at some level you could, even for a moment, relate to those on the 'other side' with you - suffering too - lost in darkness. I am not talking the militants here - but ordinary people. I cannot see any good outcome in this at all and it lasting far longer with Israel having done itself and its people a terrible disservice. I don't wish that on ANYONE and have lived through battles myself. But I wonder - is/was there any point of 'meeting' with each other at some level, during all of this, after having been to hell already ? Looking up - a way out for all of you. ? If the planet is not annihilated in the near future - maybe you could be a real catalyst for change ? DO NOT underestimate your power for GOOD. Especially being borne of your own sufferings - to both 'sides'. The only other option it seems is that everyone slaughters everyone else til there are not left to slaughter or be slaughtered. While their leaders sit in 5 star luxury in Qatar, counting their stolen billions intended for their own civilians. What brave men they are. They celebrated and livestreamed their Oct 7 massacre, wonder if they're also happy when their actions directly lead to the massacres of their own civilians. According to their leader's own statements, they probably are.

here's what really happened to those billions:
Damage to European Union-funded projects in Palestine during Israeli attacks and other incursions is nothing new. However, following the union’s move in 2015 to label Israeli settlement products, the number of EU-funded projects demolished or confiscated by Israel increased dramatically. In the first three months of 2016, the number of demolitions per month, of either private property or Internationally/EU-funded projects, increased to 165, from an average of 50 during 2012-2015, The United Nations office for coordination of humanitarian affairs 'OCHA' has documented 120 demolitions against EU-financed buildings in the first three months of 2016.

Euro-Med Monitor estimates that since 2001, the Israeli authorities have destroyed approximately 150 development projects, of which totally or partial funded by the EC and its member states, of what incurs the EU a financial loss of approximately €58 million out of the total €85 million worth of damage.
Euro-Med Monitor also estimates that since 2001, the total value of EU squandered aid money (development and humanitarian projects)amounts to €65million-of which at least €23million were lost during the 2014 assault alone.

Operation Protective Edge in 2014 inflicted more damage on wells, water reservoirs, wastewater treatment plants, desalination plants and pumping stations.

During 11 days in May 2021, air strikes affected 13 water wells, three desalination plants and 250,000 meters of water pipes, reportedly including the main pipeline carrying water purchased from Mekorot. Three days of strikes in early August 2022 resulted in some damage to sections of the water network, and a fuel shortage temporarily decreased water production and delivery by more than 50 percent.
