    Love the handles. Also love the length of your videos…so much easier to watch a sub-15 minute build than a 30-45 minute-er.

      Thanks man! Really happy with the direction the channel is going. It's slow but it's steady! See you in a couple weeks!

    I like those pulls. I also like how you used the Origin to cut them. It gives me inspiration to try some similar ideas. Nice pivot to black walnut from claro. Sometimes less really is more.

    Those pulls are really nice! Great job Mike. Really enjoyed the video. Someday I’ll get into the Shaper Origin..it’s still sitting in the box unopened 😂

    Great vid. Very nice project. Wondering why you did not finish both sides of top to normalize grain and help reduce chance of twisting.

    “Pocket holes because I hate myself!” So true. They suck. Feel dirty every time I use them. Do you scrape your glue squeeze out the following day or is there a specific time frame that works best? Love the content. Keep it up

    • @CoffeyCustomBuilds
      @CoffeyCustomBuilds  Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you so much! I prefer to clean up glue at the 45-60 minute mark. I find the glue to be hard enough to break off but soft enough to not grab on to grain fibers. I also wipe joints clean with a wet rag after joining.

  • @JeffFontecchio
    @JeffFontecchio Před 6 měsíci +1

    I could do that too if I had a pocket hole jig!😂

    What are you cleaning your glue squeeze out with. I'm surprised you haven't heard of the plastic straw trick.

    • @CoffeyCustomBuilds
      @CoffeyCustomBuilds  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It's a silicon brush and a wet rag. Works great. I have heard of it. I don't keep straws in my shop. It works great though!

  • @mmembrino
    @mmembrino Před 6 měsíci +1

    Looks beautiful, the pulls really are a showstopper. Any ideas on how you'd cut the walnut insert without a shaper or CNC?

    • @CoffeyCustomBuilds
      @CoffeyCustomBuilds  Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you! You can definitely do it with a template and a pattern bit. I'm going to offer mdf templates later today on my shop but the build plans have a paper template you can print out as well.

    I notice you use the Festool domino for your joinery. Do you also have the domino xl or is the 500 sufficient for the furniture you make. I’m trying to make an informed decision on purchasing one.
    Thanks

    • @CoffeyCustomBuilds
      @CoffeyCustomBuilds  Před 5 měsíci

      I use the 500 for 90% of my domino uses. The 700 is great for large tables and doors but the 500 is definitely where I'd start.
