The Nissan Titan, one of those pickup trucks that often gets forgotten in the conversation dominated by the F150, RAM, Silverado and Tundra. But this is a very impressive truck, packs a lot of features for the price, has some really nice styling and will handle everything you throw at it. It may not have all the flashy features of some of the other luxury trucks out there, but the Titan has brought some nice updates to make it competitive. The Pro-4X brings some off-road goodies including ‪@bilsteinUS‬ monotube shocks, protective skid plates and plenty of capability. Check out this vlog covering a week living with this 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X, showing some of the details and general impressions!

Just bought one three days ago! Loving it so far! Wish fuel mileage was a little better, but knew that going in. More bells and whistles than I’ll ever use. Lots of passing power. Had a Nissan Frontier that lasted me over 20 years. Hope this one lasts as long.

@@bradh6185 mind you, I use air conditioning a lot… between 16 and 17 city, and about 20 highway. Not the greatest, but it is a powerful V-8. About the same as the 2002 Nissan Frontier super charge 6 I used to drive. Been driving for five months now. Took it on road trip and put about 4000 miles on it in a week. Passing power is incredible. The ONLY issue I do not like is transmission is sometimes rough when accelerating slowly or decelerating slowly between first and second gears on a slight incline. Otherwise, smooth as silk in other gears.

@@bradh6185 yes. 9 speed. Took it through nearly every environment imaginable on trip through southwest. Desert heat, pavement, gravel, 4-wheeling up and down steep slopes off-road and over large rocks in Valley of the Gods, up to base of Mexican Hat, through wind and sand storms, and found ourselves in freak snow and ice storms in Sierras of Nevada and California. Passed numerous vehicles that were unable to handle the conditions. I rarely needed the 4-wheel drive. 9 speed was great( with the minor exception described earlier related to shifting from 1st and 2nd .)

Of course the big 3 offer more but those trucks will be 15k more than this one. If you want a Naturally aspirated V8 with no hybrid assist the Titan is as good as anything out there with a N/A gas V8.
The 5.6 will be more reliable than Ram and GM V8’s equipped with that silly cylinder deactivation.

I just bought my titan pro 4x, 2 weeks ago and I have to say I love it.. I've owned a tundra v8 and that was a great truck but the mpg was horrible. I've owned a Ford ecoboost and got great mpg with it, but started having trouble with oil leaks with it even after having it repaired twice. Test drove a chevy trailboss, and a great ride but was very expensive, and test drove a ram 1500 and was a better ride quality and tech, but also to expensive. Found this 2021 titan pro 4x and test drove it and it had everything I needed and wanted without the high sticker price, and where I live, I also got a lifetime powertrain warranty as well !!!!. None of the competitors could match that or come close. I'm not a brand loyal guy, I just wanted a better truck than what I used to own. Yes there are trucks that offer more towing, gas mileage, and more tech. But for the price, I got alot more than I would've had with the competitors. I've read and listened to alot of auto reviewers bash this truck for not being enough truck, and ask myself what are they looking for. Tech, creature comforts, safety features, ride quality?. If you have the money to spend for all the amenities a truck should have then by all means go for it, but I live on a budget and this fit my budget just right and will do the job I need to get done and still have fun at the beach with it.

You can take those black covers off the rails in the bed and they are the same as the ones on the side of the bed to use with those moveable tie-down loops. The covers are there to protect them when you aren't using them so they don't fill up with dirt or something.

So now I'm gonna see what toyota and nissan have to offer . People swear by the last gen tundra but this nissan seems to have a little better interior. I have zero education or experience in Engineering and I could review a couple of authoritative sources regarding projected long-term reliability on a a vehicle and probably give a reasonable opinion. Even more rough coming to a stop around 15mp when it shifts from 2-1 gear you feel a very hard and loud clunk. It jolts the cabin sometimes. It also gear hunts like crazy. And with cruise control on going down a hill, it surges so bad. It will speed up instead of down shift to engine brake and slow you down.
