Would love to see a video on your experience with leaky or rusted magnets. Technically speaking, iron oxide is not problematic for Reef tanks as phosphate binding agents are made from them in someway. However, the rare earth metals they are sometimes contaminated with are the problem. Recently, I discovered my complete SPS death was due to a rusted frag rack in my 30 gallon.

If your fish are safe with starfish I'd recommend sand shifting starfish, I have one for my 50 gallon and my sand looks brand new even though I feed heavy.

To make syphoning water out easier/ faster connect a small pump to the hose & it’ll save you 20-30mins 👍🏻 unless you need to do a sand bed clean but could always connect a pump the other end like an external pump set up.

What do you do with the water change lines when not in use leave them their or clean and tidy them away ? I have been looking at doing this from the garage but worried about stagnant water in the tubes affecting the tank over overtime.

I wouldn't run that waste tank water right down the foundation of your home. That can't be good

It's a surface water drain, which will be connected to the sewerage system.

@@northeastcorals .....which in a new UK house will be connected to a soakaway (or a SW specific drain) and definitely NOT the sewerage system!!

@@gap9992 There are three main types of sewerage systems in the UK: foul sewers, surface water, combined sewers, therefore if the drain is connected to any one of these 3 it is actually connected to a sewage system so you can get down from that high horse before you fall off. Soakaways are also a thing in new builds but still a less common solution across the UK, in my area they are pretty much non existent even in new builds due to extremely heavy clay soil.
