Feelings Of Insecurity

Nothing except armed guards and the death penalty for bike theft will truly protect your bike, but some things are better than others. These are examples of the least secure items.

Other owners of my bike have said " Do not use the steering lock" OH Dear why? "The lock is fragile if the lock is forced the frame will be damaged and the bike could be a ' write off'. Of course I run the risk that insurance may not pay out if it is stolen and then recovered with an undamaged steering lock. I do use a disc lock although there are a few reasons why that is not a good idea.

Some steering locks are better than others, the current Yam MT series look very fragile. Anything is better than nothing against an opportuist thief.
