If ST: Legacy ever gets a green light, a cameo of Harry Kim shown with only one pip at first, only to reveal that he's in the process of putting the rest on with three more to follow would be perfection.

Except for all the errors. The Romulans would have found the report that the data rod was forged in the wreckage of the shuttle. Or his personal logs. There is no way they would have joined the war after finding the Federation lied to them. Why can't' anyone see that? It makes me sad that Trek fans ignore things in front of their eyes to make the story better...

    • @caneighdianjake8439

@@Me-qp8vz Are tou referring to the show or the book?
If the show, then what report? What personal logs? Sisko deleted the log at the end of the episode. There is nothing for anyone to find. No one else was a part of this conspiracy besides Sisko and Garek.
Garek know all along that the datalogs would not be good enough to pass scrutiny; that is why he set up the shuttle incident in order to damage the rods just enough that any discrepency would be deemed to be a result of damage from the crash and not due to doctored records.
Was there something mentioned in the book regarding this incident? I read the book over 10 years ago, so I dont remember specific details. But as far as I know, there was nothing left to find to link the shuttle accident to Sisko, Garek, or to doctored records.

I can see Harry coming back for Season 2 of Prodigy. To save Chakotay, I can think many of the Voyager crew would volunteer for this assignment. I'd love if his appearance was like:
Harry: "Lt Commander Kim reporting for duty, Admiral!"
Janeway: "Mr Kim... at ease before you sprain something."
They both smile and laugh before she hugs him.
    I can totally see that.

Possible plot point: bring him back as an ensign, create a scenario where he’s the only one with the level of experience needed for the situation. He’s a hero, again. Have an admiral look through his service history and admit they don’t know how he managed to slip through the cracks, that he should’ve had multiple promotions a long time ago. Promote him to rear admiral, with all promotions retroactively backdated.

Look I know it’s overdone, but I do have to say it - if we do get anything centered on Captain Harriman, it simply HAS to drop on Tuesday.
I would like to see something that even briefly reunites Sulu and Chekov - maybe give Demora Sulu a Long Trek of some sort, as she did ascend to the captaincy of the Enterprise-B in the novels as well.
An Enterprise-C/Rachel Garrett story would also be something nice - she got memorialized as the Red Lady, but other than Narendra III, we know pretty much nothing about her.
Long Treks in general would be great for Lost Era centric stuff, come to think of it. The time gaps between Treks give a lot of room to maneuver and explore while being self-contained.
All that said, though, my top pick of finding a way to bring back characters is 100% the Picard-original cast, considering that they basically seemed shoved out of the spotlight to afford to bring the TNG cast back in season three. Hearing that Isa Briones thought the fans didn’t like her broke my heart, so let’s give her an adventure with Data, have a father-daughter bonding story. Could even include Moriarty into things, similar to the novels’ The Light Fantastic, with Soji in place of Lal.

You could actually bundle a few of these together...using Romulan history as the bridge. Earth-Romulan War and aftermath (Enterprise), Tomed Incident (Enterprise-B), Rise of Sela (post-Romulan supernova/2402). It would not only cover a lot of ground but it would finally give some real in-depth perspective on Romulan culture.

The "Autobiography of James Kirk" brought in Ensign Morgan Bateson (an older version played by Kelsey Grammer in the TNG episode "Cause and Effect") as Kirk's first yeoman on the Enterprise (Janice Rand would replace him), which only gave me new interest in wanting him to come back so we see how he deals with being a century out of time. Not into the Ferengis though: loved it when T'Pol played them and nerve-pinched that one in 'Acquisitions'. I still feel that "Enterprise" deserves 3+ more 3 seasons to complete the story of the crew after the last episode, Trip's mission, the beginning of the Federation, visits to old and new worlds, and a conclusion to the ship and crew's lives.

I keep imagining an episode of Lower Decks where Commander Harry Kim steps onto the Cerritos to present the Harry Kim Award for Best Ensign to Tendi, only for a series of inexplicable and totally unlikely disasters to occur, all of which circumstantially point towards Harry. The results being that a battered, broken, dejected, and massively demoted Ensign Harry Kim leaves the Cerritos towards the end of the episode.
It's only in a final flashback scene that we find out that the true root cause of the disasters was when a rushed and totally stressed out Tendi put a dirty plate in the wrong recycling slot, causing the cascade of disaster.

You could also bring Harriman in the 25th century because eventual fate the B is often stated to be that she vanished from with all hands and no-one know what happened to her or her crew
You could bring back the Enterprise B and Harriman via a ‘cause and effect’ style time warp… you could chock the aging up to time dilation or whatever that could have affected the ship and her crew when they arrived in the 25th century
Or just bring him back in lower decks, same cause for him to be in the 24th/25th century, but because it’s animation he can look the same age

  • @alanmaxwell5932
    @alanmaxwell5932 Před rokem +4

I wonder if we will see Harry on the Voyager-A in Prodigy. At that point in the timeline he probably wouldn't be a captain yet, that could be Tuvok, but at least he could be a Lt. Cmdr and maybe first officer as its been a few years. As for the lost era, I think a mini series would be great, maybe for Archer as well. Do an anthology series where each season covers an era, starting about 20 years after Enterprise. They can reveal that Tucker didnt really die, went into Section 31 and was recruited by Daniels to help stop the Temporal Cold War. They come back for Archer, while he's the president of the Federation to get his help and we finally get to see him as Future Guy. Next season can be the lost era, maybe make it mostly about the Enterprise B, then a season about the C and Rachel Garret. Then if we get Legacy, that can continue forward in the timeline and give us updates on the other 90s era characters. So many possibilities.

  • @QBCPerdition

We need a Star Trek Anthology series. Each season could be different, one set on the Enterprise-B, one showing the Earth Romulan War, with the cast of Ent back, one set on Bajor during the occupation, etc. This would be a great way to explore different ideas, without committing to full series, while at the same time using it as a test bed for those new series.

It’s clearly a hot storytelling model in the horror space: AHS, Slasher, Fear Street. An anthology series could work, especially if the writers take advantage of the deep history involved to weave common themes and thread some characters and plots around throughout; especially with the Romulan stuff since they’re so long lived and like to play the game of thrones in whatever job they’re doing at the time

You forgot to mention the USS Archer seen on the fleet display in Star Trek: Nemesis! I absolutely would love to see the return of the NX-01 and her crew. I didn't hate the finale, because I liked how it showed the inspiration they provided to succeeding generations of Starfleet, but I do agree it would have been better as a 'near the finale' episode, rather than the finale itself. Maybe set up for Trip's covert mission into the Romulan Empire, although that really played hell with the TOS concept that no human had ever seen a Romulan until "Balance of Terror". Obviously, Pike didn't discuss what he saw in the SNW season 1 finale to avoid disrupting the future.

As for the Janeway one, I don't think any Changeling would be incomprehensibly suicidal or insane enough to try impersonating her. After all, the love of coffee and dedication to her crew is so prolific that it crippled one of the most powerful forces in the Star Trek universe with nary an issue. And given that we saw from Vadic, how she kinda took on the cruel callousness of the woman she was emulating, I can only imagine how devastatingly dangerous a changeling version of Janeway could have been. Rest in peace Borg and the Federation, you guys are done.

  • @NeonVisual

Also, the fact that there was an nx-01 refit in Picard, that means the holodeck simulation Riker watched was wrong, as it showed Enterprise being decommissioned without the refit. Therefore Trip is fine.

Unfortunately, there's also the possibility of it being decomissioned then shifted to refit easily enough. Just go with the Romulan War and the instant shift to getting ships back in and it's easier to upgrade the NX-01 than build a brand new ship despite it being, probably, slated for a museum at that point.

Did you read "Rise of the Federation"? Malcolm gives T'Pol a non-crowded tour of the NX-O1in a museum and she gets to meet Trip again. The end of that last episode should have been from the book, "The Good That Men Do" where she meets Trip-dressed as a Romulan-under the steps during Archer's speech-and he tells her what his new mission will be. She then realises he's not a Vulcan, but a Vulcan when he hugs her and leaves.

If they brought back Ro Laren, they can bring back Valeris, pop her in the Lower Decks / Picard era and see how an elderly ex-con Vulcan would view and be viewed by the contemporary Starfleet. And Kim Cattrall is still active enough for at least a cameo role.

Through the first episodes of Picard season 3I thought captain Liam Shaw was a jerk. He only cared about himself, and hated Riker, Picard,& 7 of nine. But after re-watching this series for third time, I’ll realize in the second episode that just slipped past me where he mentioned, I’m not going to bargain 500 lives for two relics, I realize then that he wasn’t a jerk. He actually cared about his crew and his ship. This was before we knew about what he went through at Wolf 359. So I changed my opinion of him in the first few episodes. He was trying to protect his crew. He never talked about himself, but he was protecting his crew, and then we found out why. I would like for them to explore the journeys of The Titan-A with Captain Liam Shaw, without first officer seven of nine. Watch him be a “dip shit from Chicago“ but care about his crew and their well-being. I forget the episode number, but he relieves three officers on the bridge because they’ve already did a 36 hour rotation and for them to get some rest. These were some of his top officers on the bridge as well. Another point to where it’s about his crew and ship. He is a very interesting character that I would like to see. Explored more on screen or in animation like the Star Wars, the clone wars type of animation.

....Then by the end of Season 3, episode 9; "Oh my god, they killed Shaw! I really liked Shaw, too!"

Garak is a must, epic DS9 character.
Shaw, I say yes bring him back, If legacy gets a green light then yes, defiantly, perhaps he serves for a short time under seven as the second character to hold the position but "Captain of Engineering" and 3rd officer before he's whisked away to take command of the newly rebuilt Utopia Planitia yards. Perhaps with cameo's and season arc returns.
Trip could be brought back as a hologram, which would be easiest. A clone in strange new worlds being another example. Perhaps Scott could play a very, very old Admiral Archer in SNW and is very pleased to see his old friend somewhat back from the dead, even if he is a clone. I guess this doubles for the two characters.
Professor Moriarty, He would make a fantastic trek Villian using a mobile emitter. Perhaps he learned a little to much from a simulation that was a little to detailed.
Live action Janeway, Yes! Again, perfect for Star Trek Legacy, Would be great to see Janeway return as Admiral Janeway. Perhaps she comes aboard the Enterprise to congratulate Seven and show she's proud of her for finally making it in to Starfleet and making it to Captain. Like a proud mother figure. May be Seven is very much a Maverick Captain. She's does what's morally right, not nessiserily what's always best for Starfleet & Admiral Janeway investigates Seven's behaviour and after a lot of back and forth, may be an issue aboard ship that Janeway is very pleased with how Seven handles it, She stands up and protects Seven, insisting she may be a stickler for the rules, but she is the Captain Starfleet needs at the forefront and in command of the Enterprise (G).
Sela, Perhaps as she's aged, Sela has perhaps begun to regret her decision and wondered what would have happened if she Haddnt have cried and alerted the guards to her mother's attempted escape. Perhaps, Q offers her that chance in a tapestry sort of away. Showing her what her life would have been like. She has to accept her life for what it is in the end and even with the regret, she has to return to her real life.
Captain Harrimen. That would be an interesting one. Could do a temporal episode, Harriman 20+ years and the Enterprise B is ready for decommissioning, while on its last voyage she ends up through time and encounters the Enterprise G or she ends up back in time and meets the SNW crew.
Sisco, Defiantly, Perhaps he appears to Jake. Jake has to warn Kira and the old DS9 crew about some issue, Again Startrek Legacy, Perhaps the Enterprise G is docked at DS9. Seven agrees to allow use of the Enterprise for said mission. Even against the wish's of Starfleet. Failing that, perhaps a film using the DS9 crew aboard the Defiant. They steal the Defiant from the museum and use it for their mission. Could even Cameo LeVar Burton as Geordi on the view screen ordering them to stop.
Harry Kim, Perhaps Star Trek Legacy, Harry is first officer aboard the Rhode Island. Enterprise and the Rhode Island are conducting an experiment. The Rhode Island is heavily damaged, its Captain dies as a result. Harry assumes Command, Seven gives him a field promotion to Captain (Ref Ds9 Valiant / Tim Watters promoted by Valiant's Captain to the field rank of Captain). At the end of the episode, Harry takes the Rhode Island back to space dock. He speaks to Seven in the next episode in her quarters or the briefing room (rear of the Bridge on Ent G). She notices, he's been made a full Captain, he goes on to state he's been given command of the Rhode, and she's not just being repaired, she's being totally refitted to which he states "Long overdue". The Rhode that's damaged is the same as Random's Equinox, Harry sends specs to Seven of the refit, and she looks at them, showing the one from End Game. Thus showing how the Rhode started out and coming full circle.

    Thoughts:
    10. Garak - HELL YES. Obviously yes. Why wouldn't you?
    9. Shaw - Yeah but how are you going to bring him back? In a Pike wheel chair? Great character but curious how you would do it.
    8. Trip - Section 31
    7. Archer - If they can write him in and can be done with Trip in same episode or Section 31 initiative.
    6. Moriarty - nah. Block already checked
    5. Janeway - a must. Thought she would be in Picard S3 finale
    4. Sela - should have been in Picard S1. I would like to see Sela evolve from villain and come back around for her own (Redemption Part3) and honor the legacy of her mother being a force for good.
    3. Harriman - yes, and will follow up on this thought because it ties into my pick
    2. Sisko - overdue. I don't think him simply donning the uniform and dropping into Starfleet like nothing happened would work- unless the pull a Stargate SG1 Dr. Jackson ascended being move erasing his memory- that could work and if Stargate can copy Star Trek, Star Trek can copy Stargate.
    1. Kim - Captain Kim
My recommended character return, I'll nominate one: CAPTAIN SAAVIK. Firstly Robin Curtis is aging like a fine wine, but also the events of Picard Season 3 revealed that the first USS Titan was commanded by Captain Saavik, leading the new flagship post-Khitomer Peace Accords. This is an excellent opportunity for a flashback episode, which could even be part of the pilot for Star Trek Legacy - if they go forward with the Titan/Enterprise-G. The flashback sequence would be a great way to bring in the Enterprise-B on screen with Captain Harriman. Create a mystery that began in the 23rd Century and play into the 'present' 25th Century.

It deserves 3 seasons for how it was treated. "TNG", "DS9", and "V" got 3 seasons, so should "Enterprise". No one cut off "TNG" after 4 seasons, but the chrs.
