Wilson Cruze, Anthony Rapp, Tig Nataro, and Doug Jones were wasted. Such powerful and charismatic actors and they got stuck with pure garbage duologue.

The reveal that the Progenitors inherited the technology from unknown previous civilization(s) reminded me of the end of Contact, where it turns out the aliens had long ago stumbled on the wormhole network and had no idea who had built it (elaborated more in the book, but mentioned in the movie). And there was a similar theme of loneliness, of wanting companionship from diverse intelligences.

I've watched Discovery from the jump only to be consistently let down with every season. Senequa Martin-Green is a fantastic actor and I adore Tig Nataro and her character, Reno. The writing was just not good at all and this final episode was a huge letdown. It was awful.

It's always worth sending a shout out to Bonnie Gordon, one of the most enthusiastic super geeks in existence. I've followed her since her RPG days on Geek & Sundry and met her a couple of times at cons (as well as seeing her perform with her group the Library Bards), and she's the actual best.

Season 1 was just cringe and highlighted that not a single person knew anything about Star Trek (and the stablished lore).... Season 2 I actually enjoyed as a sci-fi show, and at the end I had hope that with the jump to the future this show would even get better - still S2 was not a Star Trek show in any way shape or form, but an entertaining Sci-Fi show. But the Season 3... oh boy.... I have no idea why this show was not cancled after Season 3..... and it only got worse after that. Thank god that show is over...... now we can hopefull get some good Star Trek again.... can't wait for Strange New Worlds Season 3 and Lower Decks!

That “Locarno” issue could have easily worked into Voyager by hinting that Tom Paris entered the Starfleet Academy under a false identity to avoid favouritism to an admiral’s offspring by the superiors there. If done well they could‘ve pulled it off without even mentioning the name „Locarno“. But a missed opportunity is exactly that: a miss. 🤷‍♂️

Prodigy!!!! I will have to get a Netflix subscription. I like this news with Skydance...I just hope it is not trying to put a band-aid on a large open chest wound. Paramount has a lot of debt, and I'm not sure 6 billion is enough to help. I hope it is, but... Please try to do Prodigy Ups and Downs per individual episodes. I understand if you drop all 10 "at once".

Its the first time I've not been sad to see a Trek series end. The last season was slightly better than it has been, but the finale wasn't very good.

I loved the show from start to finish. Reading the Klingon was hard in season 1 was tough, but their resolution in season 2 was satisfying.

There may be another reason why Paramount went with Skydance. Paramount also owns CBS. As they have a news division, it may have thrown up regulatory hurdles that could invite an anti-trust lawsuit from the FCC if Sony's bid was the winning one (Sony being a Japanese company). Skydance merger avoids all of that and likely won't invite as much scrutiny from either the FCC or FTC

One correction to "worldwide" aspect of that - this seems to exclude the countries, where Paramount co-runs SkyShowtime platform. Since it's technically separate from Paramount+, it seemingly licensed out the show including season 2 in advance, but there's no news about release in there (just like Knuckles show, which has been dubbed into several languages of the area but not premiered yet), We only got Discovery a few months prior to final season premiere, and last season of Lower Decks never premiered here (and the previous one vanished from Amazon!), so it's a bit of a mess here. As for Legacy - with Matalas accepting the job of a showrunner with Marvel to run Vision series, it seems pretty unlikely at this point.
