Mitchel estimator time for oil pan removal on 2007 3.7 L 4×4 includes removal of the upper intake manifold. The 2 through bolts for the 2engine mounts must be removed , and engine lowered to sit on frame, to get intake manifold out, then the engine can be pulled up high enough to have oil pan clear the front differential using proper cross brace engine support from above, Unfortunately I already did the intake manifold gasket ,and thought the crossmember at back was removable, but found it was part of the entire suspension cradle. And snapped off a rusted control arm bolt thinking I could simply lower the rear crossmember like the transmission support member😡
Correct. The gasket is glue on to the pan and it’s has 3 bolts in the inside. All you have to do is pry the gasket apart from the pan or pull down hard
Sorry for the late response. It’s a good idea to do both sides to make sure there won’t be any leaks soon but you should be fine if you do just one side or none if it’s a new gasket. You have to be careful, your leak might be the rear main seal not your oil pen gasket.
What he fails to mention is the gasket gets stuck to the pan while its still bolted in at the pick up tube. The best way to do it is to slowly scrape it off from around the pan
The # one professional mechanic in Odessa.& Whole Tampa Florida get done boy congrats job always nice and clean

Did you have the same vehicle?
@@ShyRage1 yes, I flip cars I’ve had a variety
@@Street_Mobbin did you too add a gasket sealer to the new gasket or did without since its new?
@@ShyRage1 to oil pan I added sealer but it didn’t work it leaks a little works best if you put the oil pan gasket my cheap ass just put sealer
@@Street_Mobbin ok, i got it. you just used a sealer by itself and not an actual gasket, hence the problem that occured
Great job.

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers did you put the gasket sealer on it?
@@ShyRage1 No, but it doesn't hurt.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I thought 💭 so. Thanks
The struggle is getting the pan out. I got all the 10 mms around the pan and it just wont break free. Like somethings holding it on from the inside?

in the video he says both sides. he says "this side and that side" while he flips it. did you have to take it back off?@@ShyRage1
@@jyvas12 I hadn't messed with it. I did, however notice that I may have a crankshaft oil seal leak. I will continue to monitor It just to be sure.
