First and foremost I have much sorrow for all the children and their parents and family who were lost on that terrible day. I also have much sorrow for Salvador also. It's clear that all his actions for a long time went ignored and disregarded. When this goes on for so long it can go two ways. A person will either hurt others or they hurt themselves. Unfortunately Salvador struck out at his own Grandmother and innocent children that he was jealous of. Those loved children to him represented everything he felt he didn't have. I have much sorrow for him because, I had two horrible parents who should have never had children. You must consider everything involved here. There is cause and effect. Even in death funeral homes denied even his body. I just hope people will try to understand this was a young boy who felt that no one cared and he was lost to hate and disregard. I in no way condone what he did and I want to understand why. Just a horrific event that we need to learn from.

There’s some parental negligence here. I’m not blaming his parent for the shooting, but this kid started to tank much earlier than the shooting - grade school, I read - to some degree. There were many signs, over an extended period of time, that he was struggling. I guess we all do the best that we can…

The attack at Robb Elementary School was, according to the data, the 137th school shooting to take place in the U.S. so far this year. In 2021, there were 249 school shootings - by far the worst year on record. The police at Robb Elementary prevented parents from getting their kids to safety as the police that had children at the school went to retrieve their children to safety. Mental illness could be minimized with a medicare for all system. Nobody should be shoot at school period this man to say it's rare is out of his mind. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The word responsibility has no meaning for a sociopath or psychopath, I agree. Also, psychopaths have vastly diminished fear cues, which means that they do not experience fear. Emotions like compassion, anxiety, empathy, guilt, or other empathetic emotions are not wired into their brains.
He was very calm and had no anxiety when entering the school; I believe he is a psychopath.
The fact that sociopaths usually kill animals first before attacking people is something I forgot about. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I think that you might be a bit wrong. Hear me out.
Someone explained the difference to me in the following way:
A sociopath can't control their feelings and if they act out and hurt someone (like in rage) they don't feel any remorse.
A psycho can control his feelings/has no feelings and can clearly choose to hurt someone and if they do, they don't feel any remorse.
What do you think about this?

It seems that a lot of people in Uvalde knew that shooter's past history of murdering animals, shooting people with BB guns, and vandalizing cars. And his history of verbally harassing people in parks as well as towards coworkers, and making violent threats at the slightest confrontation. All of these combined should've been enough to ban him from legally purchasing a gun regardless if he's confessed to anyone in town about his intentions. From my understanding, the town did not have the finances to attempt treating the boy, because almost half the tax money had gone to the Police. Which did not respond fast enough to stop the shooter, mirroring the situation that happened in Parkland.

Interesting topic. Mental health is the biggest issue, IMHO. I don't think it's any coincidence these school shooters were bullied. But instead of suicide (54% of all gun deaths according to FBI), there are those very disturbed individuals who choose to take as many others as they can with them in some kind of twisted suicide by cop scenario.
Banning semi-automatic weapons (automatic weapons aren't legal) is a tough sell in a hunting state like mine where they're used for hunting varmints and mid size game. Rifles like these are responsible for 3% of overall gun deaths.
Hand guns account for 59% of gun deaths and they are already heavily restricted in many large cities with uncertain results. All of these death stats are absolutely heartbreaking. Since a total gun ban is unlikely, or even if guns were banned, mental health still needs to be taken seriously by society all the way up to the political leaders in order to ensure access to assistance for those who need it. Thank you for a thought-provoking video with personal experiences to mull over.

It's about a Killer I havnt watched it, so I don't know if he was copying similar to that. My question is, was this done for fame ? Like he believes oh I'll do this and become famous. Hey I’m a highschooler from Uvalde TX and i can confirm he did do this for the publicity. He texted people (mainly girls) saying he wanted his name out there, he purposely changed his Instagram “aesthetic” to shock people, & he texted in a way as if he wanted to shock people. his Instagram wasn’t always dark but there was signs of him not being mentally stable (he posted photos and videos on his highlights of him punching holes in his walls or throwing knives at his walls.) and he just posted videos and photos of him posing in odd positions. From what i know of he didnt do hardcore drugs ever but he did smoke weed often.

@@lbv2899 from what Salvador’s old friends have said he’s been joking about shooting up a school since his middle school years and he was friends with another student who almost went through with a shooting at the jr.high (building for middle schoolers near the highschool) but they caught him quickly because he had a list of peoples names. Everything was planned basically. I remember he texted me on an account with his online friends and they tried picking a fight with me but whenever I ended the convo they sent school shooter photos (Adam Lanza, nikolas Cruz, Devon Erickson, Dylan and Eric). There’s a lot of things police don’t release and it honestly kinda sucks because I highly doubt we’ll have any closure in this town.

Three really good arguments 1) efforts to ban assault style weapons will reduce mass murders. Really good malaria analogy. 2) Routine healthcare screening involving mental health questionnaires could help to identify needed interventions. Also this would be enabled by universal healthcare. Many people don't go to yearly well visits, even if they do have healthcare. 3) it's possible that small things like wage increases could provide just enough motivation and hopefulness to deter desperate and harmful actions. So raising minimum wages on a somewhat regular basis will help those at the lower ends of the margin.
    Three simple policies
    Ban guns
    Universal healthcare
    Living wage.
