True. This is something we all need to acknowledge when we see someone with a gun. Never know when we can save someone's life. If the guy would have seen him he would have been dead too. We need to do something about this schools need to be better prepared. Maybe not allow anyone inside the school without identification. I don't know how he was able to walk thru those front doors. Our local elementary school has the front doors locked. Their is always someone up front. They don't allow us to go in. However schools need to be more strict about front door entrance. I know how stressful it can be the responsibility of teaching children, turning in grades, and go home to care for your family. I edit my comment adding this...to avoid for another teacher leaving the school's back exit door open. Schools should not allow for teachers step out for lunch. I know this can sound cruel to have an outing during lunch time . Yet it simply to avoid for another shooting school from happening. I know some teachers deserve to sit and enjoy their lunch. However, this is to protect our kids while 8n school ground.

I was driving home from a party, completely intoxicated. I had 4 others in the car with me. I fell asleep at the wheel, driving off the road and into a decent cliff. I killed my best friend who was in the front seat and another in the middle seat in the back. I only served a few months in jail, while I destroyed two lives and ruined the lives of their families. Did nobody get a call of an armed maniac shooting at people in broad daylight. Law enforcement failed this town. School shootings like this just don't happen here also. Americans can go about there rights to bare arms which is outdated over a hundred year old law but answer me this. You can defend yourself with a pistol and hand gun which is one thing perfectly adequate enough. Why the hell should you be allowed to buy and need a powerful automatic army style combat rifles on the streets. This is what has to change they shouldn't be on general sale. There can be twenty armed shooters outside but if they cant enter the school guess what there wont be students killed.

We can all relate to this guy’s guilt. I can only imagine being in his shoes, having those thoughts of hindsight and wanting to go back and redo it a different way where he had his pistol and shot him down.
The truth is, the system failed to stop this killer. It allowed him to carry out his evil actions with ease. God wasn’t there for those children and teachers who were taken from us. It’s us. We’re the ones who have to support each other, we neighbors, humans, Americans. It’s on us and who we elect to protect us and act on our behalf, not anyone else. We can’t rely on superhero individuals to come in and save the day while we work, pay taxes, and raise our families every day. They didn’t deserve to lose their lives just for going to school like all of us did or are doing now.
My wish is that while their loved ones mourn, we go back to thinking of how to make schools and supermarkets and all other public places safe from crazy people with AR15’s who want to take our life away.
Let’s go back to the question of: what are we going to do about it? The whole world has watched our country exclusively have this issue of mass shootings for years. I could care less what others think of us, but I sure don’t want to live the rest of my life worrying about some nutjob with a gun wanting to kill me or my family or my friends while I’m out in public, just living my life.
