Much respect to the funeral homes who are not charging families. What a wonderful way to give to the community.
I always love to see Texans helping Texans. This is great because most parents shouldn’t have to bury their children so young. They are not prepared to have to pay for a funeral for their child. Thank you to the funeral homes.
yeah no one should ever have to pay to bury a child. it's good to know that worst case scenario people would set up a go fund me to cover funeral costs.
It shouldn't even be a question any parent burying a child shouldn't have to pay for the casket or burial/cremation. This is only a wonderful way to give back to the community when the social norm in the community and country is unfettered greed. Honestly if I had lost my child in a shooting and I saw you say that I'd have started tearing into you, because it isn't a wonderful way to give to the community it is the only right thing to do for any parent who lost a child much less one who lost their child to a preventable tragedy... A good way to give to the community is fight for change so this doesn't happen in that community or any other community ever again, thats how you give to the community.

Hearing the first responder talk about how he found out his daughter was killed got me crying. Worst way possible. His own blood ended up being on that little girl.
The father telling the story of his daughters friend brought me to tears. So senseless. Kids cant even go to school and be safe anymore. I can't imagine how the parents feel having lost their young babies.

I'm a resident of Uvalde. My son went to this school 4 years ago, and one of his best friends lost a little brother in this. Never before have I seen such heartbreak in our little town. We're all family. We all lost 19 of our children on Tuesday. Please, please please, whether you think it does anything or not, prayers and thoughts are greatly appreciated at this time. 2 funeral homes in that city waived all fees for their grieving families. RIP. This is just a start. As we see, major national shootings are happening at great frequency without even a week in between. These are the end times and copycats are going to replicate this act of terrorism and tragedy. In another clip from ABC morning, the same "grieving father" is saying he wished he knew how she died exactly. That video was posted 11 hours after this one. It was a startling discovery but true non the less.

To be that age, experiencing that is so terrible. I couldn't imagine surviving that nightmare, walking out and your friends and teachers are dead. I have half siblings who are triplets at 5 ½ years old. I couldn't imagine the agony and grief I'd feel if they were taken from the world. I'm crying typing this. One girl, she was brilliant in doing this, but she probably felt extreme anguish. She was beside her friend, who was dead. She put her hands in the blood and smeared it on her and played dead. R.I.P you sweet, sweet angels. And I wish anyone experiencing trauma and/or loss a speedy recovery and know that your baby is flying in the sky, watching down on you.

Not to worry, it turns out that he was not really the girl's father. At least CNN didn't think so, because they soon interviewed another guy who they said was the same girl's father. Personally, I can sympathize with the CNN producers. This guy's routine was a little too strange and unnatural. The bearded guy who replaced him wasn't much better, but at least his performance wasn't quite so laughable.

as a first responder myself, I have been incredibly lucky to never have had anyone die on me, let alone a child, when a child dies on you in the field it's the worst possible scenario you could imagine, until it's you're own kid. I can't imagine what that was like for this man and I hope he stays vigilant.

There is no point in trying to find out the “why”. There is no why, there is no finding sense as to murdering innocent children. This is horrific. The pain , the confusion, the sense of loss. My prayers and thoughts with these parents , surviving children and the ones lost.

Its not that it was easily passed, its that humans are inherently capable of great evil and we are also excellent at deception and manipulation. You can't accurately predict who is going to do something horrible you can only know that someone will. The proper solution to these evil people isn't to cede our freedom or rights away, its to ensure that our children are protected by armed guards at every school in the country. 3-4 heavily armed guards at every school and these shootings would be stopped in their tracks. Rather than waiting for good men with guns to arrive on scene 10 minutes-hour later we could have them on scene before any attacker is able to pose a threat. And even in the case of a student bringing a gun into the school, 3-4 armed guards charging into the situation from down the hallway is still a significantly better response than officers responding after ten minutes. I would also heavily advocate that as many teachers as are willing be allowed to concealed carry.
