How To Make DIY Ombre Glitter Ornaments -- Glass and Plastic Balls -- Two Different Methods

  • Fair warning, this was a totally mess to clean up, but so worth it. In today's video I test out two different ways to adhere the glitter inside the ornament. We use both plastic and glass to make a solid version, a mixed glitter version, and finally the ombre (my favorite)
Pictures at the end of the video really show off the colors much better than my camera inside.

Instead of using the QUICK SHINE (blue label) bottle of floor cleaner that you are using, i recommend and I think you should try Quick Shines green label bottle, that's their quick shine floor finish/sealer. The cleaner doesn't dry and it's hazy, like u said. But their quick shine sealer, It dries shiny and won't fall inside the ornaments, it dries super shiny. I use it in my ornaments with great results. Turns out fantastic!! Just swirl a quick thin coat inside ornaments then add glitter.. I believe you will like the results.
(Ive used quick shine on my floors for many many years. I will usually put 3 coats of the floor finish/sealer on my thoroughly cleaned and dried floors. The shine sealer, lasts for a long time on floors, with high foot traffic, 6-8 months & even longer, w/less foot traffic. It dries super shiny and its durable. I love Holloway House Quick Shine floor products, their floor cleaners and especially their quick shine floor finish/sealer. They are even used in hospitals. Like I said, the quick shine sealer is in the green label bottle, the blue label bottle that you are using, is their regular floor cleaner, and their floor stripper/deep cleaner is in the red label bottle. They also have a wood floor cleaner in a purple label bottle, too. The green label finish can be used on wood floors, too. And, You would need their red label floor stripper to take the green label quick shine finish off of your floors after 6-8+ or more months. The red label bottle thoroughly deep cleans your floors, then you seal your floors with the green label quick shine bottle.. You would use the blue label bottle for regular floor cleaning, stays shiny, without taking off the quick shine sealer. You can get Holloway House products (the blue label bottle you are using and the red label, and especially their green label Quick shine finish/sealer) at Walmart or on Amazon. Several stores carry Quick Shine products. Just Google where you can buy them..
But i would definitely suggest using their sealer for some crafts. I do. Works great inside ornaments, inside plastic or glass. You would love the super shiny results!! And it will last forever in your ornaments. I used it in my ornaments after I heard people used mop and glo. Quick shine is way better than mop and glo. On floors and in ornaments. Quick shine, in the green label bottle is a finish/sealer. Please note it's a sealer and its not a cleaner. Do not use the green label quick shine as a cleaner or you will end up sealing dirt into the shine (use the quick shine sealer only on clean floors). I'm sorry I didn't mean to go on about floor cleaners/sealers. But I just wanted to share this info after I saw you were using a floor cleaner. I believe you will like the results you will get using QUICK SHINE FLOOR FINISH IN YOUR ORNAMENTS. And maybe even on ur floors too. Thanks for sharing ur video. I enjoyed it!!
Happy Holidays to everyone. And to everyone, Best Wishes for a Happy New Year, too.

Just a suggestion, instead of floor cleaner... Use polycrylic it lasts a life time...where the floor cleaner starts to crumble after a year or 2.

Enjoyed the ombré effect - haven’t tried that yet. As a tip to “tame the glitter that gets away”, I find it helpful to put a piece of paper about the size and flexibility of copy or printer paper under where I am working with the glitter. It catches all the fly away glitter and then you just gently hold the paper side edges up and tap. It brings all the loose glitter to the middle and you can then guide it back into a container. Hope this makes sense.

LMAO!!! I enjoyed this so much and needed a laugh. Thanks for the glue being cut in half and to wait 24 hrs before added glitter. I think that's where II have been screwing up.

with the floor cleaner it doesn't last as long as the other methods, It will start to fall off over time. It's a good option if u only want the ornament for one season. I use polycrylic myself. I've never tried the glue version. I'm having a horrible time tryin to get the ombre effect my glitter ends up all over the ball instead of layered...very frustrating
