Thanks for the review - I watched it several times :) After a week of looking at reviews and waiting for my money to get the only silver one available in Bulgaria, where I live, at last I got it! I also have a thin wrist - 16.5 cm, but I just pull it off. I have been waiting for a g shock that suits me for 20 years )the first I heard of them) and finally I got it - the perfect g shock, which for me personally extends to the perfect digital watch, both esthetically and functionally.

One big bonus of the G- Shock over the Apple watch is that the G-Shock is Solar, so no manual charging of the watch as is required with the Apple watch, and no battery to change for many many years. 👍

I have the steel one and I regret buying it. The hourly signal and the alarm are just not audible in power save mode unless I hold the watch to my ear. If I turn off the power save mode then the hourly signal is audible softly, provided I'm looking at the watch when the minutes turn to 00. Not sure whether I got a damaged piece.

    Hello!
Thank you for this review! Very informative 😊
How can we distinguish between an authentic Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000 (steel) from a fake? Is there a list of serial numbers for authentic ones or something like that? Or, some marks/signs found only on the authentic?
Nowadays, fake watches almost look like the originals on the outside; it's when we open them that we can know for sure. But, I don't want to open an authentic watch just to confirm its authenticity.
    Thank you!

This looks like a fantastic watch. I fell in love with it at first site. I'm hoping Casio will produce a (hopefully) cheaper steel square g-shock with steel bracelet for the American market. I can't imagine Americans not buying these like crazy, though I doubt Casio will do this; they don't even want to release the g-shock square with the combi bracelet for the American market. Not every likes plastic bracelets.

How come all of the Gold editions don’t come in that box from other reviews I’ve seen?

That is the gold positive display, limited edition. They came in a special box.

Brilliant review, can you tell me the limited edition numbers for the gold and stainless ones please? I’ve had an email saying the stainless is back in stock.

Gold is now sold out I believe. Steel appears to have become a full production model.

Do you happen to know how to size the strap? Pop out the pins or unscrew perhaps? thanks!

The bracelet fits to the watch with spring bars around 14-16mm wide. It’s not really a watch you can buy anything other than Casio straps for, although there are NATO adapters available I think.

I wonder if they'll ever make one using all Titanium. I have a Titanium Samurai and it's quite a bit lighter than the steel one. Doesn't scratch much either. Just a thought. Good video.

    • @WatchHobbyist
      @WatchHobbyist  Před 6 lety +1

Titanium actually scratches really easily, but being a seiko, yours may have the Diashield coating. There’s many grades of Titanium which contain different alloys, but whichever they used, I would be all over a Titanium one. Casio have used it before so it’s plausible down the line.

You're right. However I have found that it doesn't scratch the top of the case too much, but on my SKZ205 40th Ann, where the back of the case comes in contact with the clasp, there is some because it's Ti vs Ti. Also, I would like to be on the mailing list for a Ti Gshock Square. Maybe the 40th Anniversary.

You never pressed the time stamp because 8/10 times it just disconnects the watch from the phone without doing the time stamp it's too hard to gauge and master and you should've highlighted that!

Hi there, this video alone deserves a subscribe, there is so much snobbery in the watch world and I am so glad I am not one of them, I love watches at all levels regardless of make and movement, Casio G shock is a fine example I have couple of cheap Casio LCD's that I haven't used since 2006 I came across them the other day they are still working unbelievable.

Love my DW M5610 as much as I do my Rolex Explorer 1, my Speedmaster and my Seiko Tuna. Never understood why those who have a passion for watches criticise those who are equally as passionate about their watches!
