Thanks, Britta!🌷I love birds in general and owls in particular. Jennifer Ackerman’s book is definitely for me. I also love reading autobiographical accounts of people who rescue owls and then end up adopting them (usually because they can’t be released back into the wild). The human-owl interaction makes them fascinating reads🦉📚
Yes, if you love owls, the Ackerman-book is made for you! ❤️ Enjoy!
I am adding The Blind Matriarch to my list. Thanks.
Hope you enjoy it!
I’m not a fan of birds but you explain so well these books that motivate us at least to explore, to give a pick to this type of books☺Enjoy your visit to your mom and hello to her from your subscribers 😃
What a lovely compliment, thank you! ❤️ And I will say hello to my mum for sure.
I’m enjoying reading g Tipping the Velvet so much with you! I’m really like Sarah Waters and am happy to have picked this up.
Me, too! 😍
Britta, if you have time our friend Jennifer interviewed the author of Romantic Outlaws it was flipping fabulous!! They got along so well and Jennifer pulled so much info out. Absolutely definitely worth your time to watch. Lee
Hi Lee! I have just re-watched the video!! It's absolutely fantastic, thank you for reminding me of it. ❤️
Best wishes with your reading choices and to your channel.
Thank you so much!
Anything to do with birds I love! My special interest since childhood. I now own a copy of the Owl book. Thanks Britta.
So happy to hear that! Enjoy! ❤️
I am a bird watcher so I'll have to check out the owl book. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Myers-Briggs book, having taken the test a few times.
Have a lovely visit with your mother!
Thank you very much for your well-wishes! And the Myers-Briggs-book is really fascinating.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve planned on reading Romantic Outlaws and then it got pre-empted by other books. So glad to hear you enjoyed the owl book. I’ve put it on my “want to read” list. I didn’t realize it was the same author as Genius of Birds (which is currently glaring at me from across the room because I still have not read it either). I’m seeing a theme here. Sigh. 🤦🏼♀️
Outlaws has been on my list for years, so I can relate! And Jennifer Ackerman is wonderful, I'm sure you will enjoy her books.
Can you believe I have never taken the Meyers Briggs test. Not sure how I avoided it but it has never been required for anything I have done.
Good for you! 'cause from what I'm learning through the book: it's complete bogus 😁
I'm well into Ida B.Wells and am enjoying it. Also reading What an Owl Knows. Over the years I've taken a number of Myers - Briggs tests - I am an INTJ. Think, I would like to learn more about the test and will look into the book. Not sure about the Blind Matriarch I already have a couple suggestions for a book from India for my reading around the world challenge. I enjoy Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's books -she lives in the US - is from India and writes about India.
Thank you for another interesting and informative video. Safe trip - looking forward to your book haul when you return.
Thank you very much for the lovely compliment! ❤️ Happy to hear you're enjoying the Ida B. Wells, and great tip about Divakaruni, I will check her out for sure.
I love Sarah Waters - a little surprised you have not read her before. Have fun visiting your mum, Britta!
I'm not that fond of historical fiction, I think that's the reason that I hadn't picked up a Sarah Walters. But I did put her on my 1001 list, so no more excuses... 😁
Safe travels! Tell your mum I said hello. Curious to hear your thoughts on the meyers Briggs
Thank you, my friend! And I will report back on the Myers-Briggs.
I love watching birds. I know what you mean about Pandemic set books, I had pre-ordered Elizabeth Strout's Lucy By the Sea, which I had to put aside for a long while, but I did complete it and I loved the book.
Oh, I might give Lucy by the Sea another try. I read it last year for the Booktube Prize and didn't get along with it at all...
Happy Sunday Britta! I am the bird watching type and I collect owl earrings… why haven’t I read this book?! 😅 Going on my list!
If you're a birdwatching type you will love this book, I'm sure!
Oh, Romantic Outlaws sounds very interesting. Thanks Britta👍
You're very welcome! (I'm halfway through and I love it.)
Les chouettes, a favorite bird of mine as they attacked and ate rodents from farmer John's barn. It made sleeping therein more comfortable.
That sounds like a fabulous kind of bird!!
I read Affinity by Sarah Waters a few months ago and enjoyed it so much. Would recommend that one! Looking forward to hearing more about Tipping the Velvet as I don't know anything about it except that it's an iconic lesbian novel.
Oh, thank you for the recommendation, I put it on the list to read! And so far, I'm really enjoying Tipping the Velvet.
I have a different Ackerman book on my list--one about the ecology of a beach near me. How nice to hear your praise of her as a writer! I love Merve Emre, but I have not read this book and am eager to see what you think.
Is that Birds by the Shore? (I still need to read that one). I came across Merve Emre only recently because she wrote the introduction to Virtual Justice by Ruha Benjamin which I really liked. And I'm fascinated by the Myers-Briggs.😁
@ Yes-Birds by the Shore! It is about the beach we used to go to regularly. Merve Emre also did an excellent annotated Mrs. Dalloway.
@@HannahsBooks Oh, your home-beach, so to speak😍 And thanx for the tip with the annotated Mrs D., right up my alley!
Wow, you are steaming through Romantic Outlaws Britta, I haven’t even started it yet 🤦♀️I can’t remember, is Elizabeth George still writing the Lynley series? Have a nice visit with your mum?
That's because I'm not reading a dense book about the Chinese cultural revolution so I can concentrate on Outlaws. 🤣. As for Elizabeth George: she published the last one in 2022, and on her website there is no indication that she has stopped...
