@@jeremiahyoung5093 Hughie's the worst of the main cast for me too. They're so inconsistent with his writing and they try to speak character traits into him that weren't there before. They say he's the canary when he's totally done horrible things himself and doesn't really try to stop the others from doing terrible things. They say he's the guy who doesn't give up, when right here he was sure ready to give up. And then they give him a tragic parent backstory in a lame attempt to garner sympathy for him.
Almost every other character is written with much more care and consistency, but Hughie who is supposed to be our protagonist is the worst written.

But then forgets it all when he meets starlight he also becomes obsessed with like every situation he responds to it by let’s call starlight. He puts the whole team at risk just for her also he literally has no movement against vought no more he doesn’t care about robin only thing in his head is starlight. He becomes over sensitive to every mission tryna to play hero to save everyone like he didn’t kill a hero in cold blood. Actually the worst main character ever
@@jeremiahyoung5093 Oh yeah, I forgot about his actual origin...because it seems so did the writers. His obsession with Starlight and near immediate forgetting of Robin is also pretty disturbing. Robin was his starting motivation for getting involved with the Boys in the first place, but after meeting Starlight, it seems that he completely forgets that she even existed.
And oh my god, the amount of times he risked the team just because he couldn't stop calling Starlight was just annoying to all hell.
What the writers forgot to do with his character was keep it consistent. It seems like they just morph him into whatever person that they need him to be for a particular scene, which makes for a very annoying character to watch.
In short, he's a piss poor excuse for an audience surrogate.
My favorite part is when The Deep gets into some defensive stance with his hands out like he actually has powers but then just gets lit up. 🤣
He does have powers he’s just too much of an idiot to use them correctly

@@picklerick4270 Not really reading into his mindset properly, though. Deep thought he could stop Butcher by planting a whale in his path. Butcher has the room to maneuver away from it, sure, but his blind hatred for supers has him plowing into the whale for no reason other than to traumatize Deep.
It was a mindgame and Butcher won. Deep severely underestimated just how far Butcher was willing to go. His conviction is way past anything Deep could imagine. Also, it was just a really dumb plan to begin with. The fuck's a beached whale gonna do against them? They're useless out of water! Deep's just an idiot who shouldn't be on the Seven to begin with.

I feel like this was a super underrated moment because the Boys do actually care about each other in their own repressed fucked up ways. MM is showing Hughie that he's never gonna leave him behind and Hughie is showing he cares because he can't let MM get caught and make it so that he never sees his family again.
Add to the fact that MM has some sort of OCD and is a germaphobe, and yet he willingly chose to go inside a whale carcass to sit with Hughie. The scene said a lot in such a brief moment.
MM is such an amazing character!

I love how utterly uncaring Butcher is. He finds a team member of his shocked and traumatized inside a dead freaking whale, and the best he can say is "you all right kid?" And just basically immediately starts urging him to get out and get moving. Then when Hughey tells him to get tf away, instead of realizing he is extremely stressed out, Butcher just leaves without a second thought.
That scene @0:07 looks like it's straight from a High budget Hollywood film, and not from a show/series.

They did the inside of the whale so fucking awesome. Like, its super gory but also art in a weird way lol. The heart still beating is a nice touch.

This was probably the most hilarious and fucked up moment of Season 2. Deep tries to redeem himself, and instead ends up humiliating himself once again and getting another one of his girlfriends killed. I feel for Lucy the Whale. Deep's just destined to always lose, but he's so desperate for validation that he keeps trying to act like he can win.
They really take animal cruelty to a whole nother level in this show.. That's for sure.
Doesn't get much worse than watching Hughie just chill inside a dying whale while its still beating heart just fades away...
