hahah, we do that all the time
LOL
+Nullik Wanna bet.
+Nullik :/ lol
He is not
That Oslo english is so spot on.
I have been wondering how my Norwegian great-grandparents sounded when they spoke English after immigrating to the US over 100 years ago. Your video has certainly given me some clues. Thank you for making this video.
You`re welcome! I am glad you liked it :)
BAHHAH justin bieber almost ruined oslo
My grandpa was from Oslo and he talked like this: Yah, vell, I tink I haff a little bit mo of dat kahfee, mama (his wife/grandma Bakke). Almost everything seemed to start with yah, vell.....
Hes is saying : Oh well, I think I have a little bit more of that coffee, mama. ♥
So I got here because I have an audition for a Norwegian character. Thank you for letting me know how many different accents are spoken in Norway, and that everyone in Norway seems to be insane.
You’re welcome, and yes we are 😂
*tord has joined the chat*
I got here because I have a Norwegian character in a book I'm writing!
Nooo, only two languages and Norwegian people are actually reserved. Why do you say they are insane??
Lmao I’m here doing research for a DND campaign involving Peer Gynt. I want to make his voice distinguishable. My heart wants to go Scottish but my brain demands accuracy.
Hilarious! "They own a lot of reindeer they sound very relaxed, and the reason they sound so very relaxed, is because all the winter is so very long, so they just keep on waiting for the summer to arrive, and then finally, when the summer arrives, they just start then to for the winter to come back again so they can drive their snow scooter". ha ha ha!
The Norwegian accent is my favorite, because they are usually very sing-songy.
Your Oslo accent almost sounds like Welsh people speaking English.
Nox Aternum haha! yeah it does :)
+Nox Aternum The stavanger accent sounds like the German Comedian HENNING WEHN
Chris Palmer I've always found his accent slightly strange, he doesn't sound like a lot of Germans one hears in the media etc.
+Stunning Stan Kautokeino accent is a bit similar to Finnish accent in English in my ears
Danielle Baden-Powell Yes it is! Probably because kautokeino is very close to finland :)
i wasn't expecting that at all ...this sudden change of your voice not only the pronunciation but it was also very artistic the way you were changing characters! I was waiting for the last part to watch your real character! I would chose Bergen beacouse I like rain! greetings from Greece!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
As an American who has some Norwegian cousins and ancestors, this is really interesting, not to mention funny! I get that it is not meant to be serious but their is definitely a ring of truth to it.
Well done, Stan! And you didn't even crack a smile, a hallmark of the best comics....
David Gilbertson Thank you! I am glad you liked it.
I don't speak like that..
@@inaexity thats what she said
The Trondheim accent made me laugh because it sounds like it’s being spoken while extremely drunk.
I'm going to Norway in October. Can't wait. I'll be visiting Bergen and Stavangaargh!
What about Hell?
Yeah, Visit Hell.
Stavanger.. Excact
I know this was meant to be a comedy video. But it is actually legitimately accurate.
Oh my god!!! You could be a stand up comedian. I laughed so hard.
Hahahah, lost my shit når du kom til Stavanger-dialekta. :D
Stavanger e best
@@henrikduffgausdal4551 esj nei
The bit about the rain filling the tanks killed me, funny stuff in here! Thanks for the vid, will help a ton while learning this accent.
Now I know where the etymology of the word 'anger' came from.
haha xD
This was really interesting, really enlightening and really funny. One of the best things I've seen on CZcams for ages! Stan - you are stunning!
+Colin Ormesher Haha! Thank you so much! Very glad you liked it ;)
Stavanger was so hilarious :D
Haha! Thanks :D
This video was interesting. I'm from Northern Minnesota USA. We are mostly Norwegian Swedish, Finish and German. The accents sound most like the Oslo accent where I live. There are a lot of different accents in Minnesota, especially in the older Generation. My great Grandmas first language was Norwegian. My great great grandparents on the other side of the family immigrated from Seim Norway to South Dakota. That side of the family sounds most like the Bergen impression. It's funny how long the accents stick around.
***** Interesting! :) Yeah it`s surprising how long accents can last trough genereations!
***** To be fair, the accents in the video are very exaggerated. I highly doubt you'll ever run into an actual Norwegian who has that thick of an accent :)
😂
I've never been to Norway (I'm from the US), but my great grandparents came from Trøndheim and all of my elderly relatives still have a thick Trøndheim accent.
This made my day.
Trondheim*
the deal with the people responsible for the oil being so angry is the same in canada lol
Hahaha xD
Canada is also responsible for all the maple syrup ;) You also got hockey games, ay?
Literally Alberta oh my god
Så bra! Jeg elsker Norge. My family comes from Narvik , pretty far north. I laughed so hard when you started talking of the Sami people because I have some cousins that Joik and have reindeer too 😆👍.
I used your Bergen accent to portray Nordahl Grieg, author of Til Ungdommen, discussing his life and then performing the song with the music by Otto Mortensen. Thanks!
+Phillip Bannowsky Cool! I watched the video and it was interesting :)
OMG You have a talent here.
I have watched these videos times over. A+
I had a great laugh!
My dad's parents came from Norway. Grandma svanee came from alesund and Grandpa angel came from Bergen I think. He was 20 years older than her born in 1897 came to Canada 1906 by himself. Joined Canadian army sappers 1914 and was at messines and worked on the mine. Mustered out 1919. Worked for CP rail the rest of his life and was in 3 train wrecks. Died in 1964 right after my older brother was born. Grandma went in 1983. She had 7 siblings so we have lots of family still there. Great video thanks!
Having come from the Simple Norwegian youtube channel, which is All Things Trondheim, I had a good laugh. Thanks!

Trønderdialekten var ganske elendig i forhold til resten men morsomt uansett xP
i have to go on a trip to norway soon and i'll find out what the language is like there beforehand.

+Banana Nation Thank you :)
Brilliant video
Very interesting video! I came here out of curiosity to hear how Norway's countrymen sound like because I met my love online and he was raised in Norway and has an accent still currently living in Chicago. He is shy to talk on the telephone and I have yet to hear him speak on the telephone! So I really wonder now which accent he was raised with. Either way I'll learn to love the way he speaks. Love conquers all. Thx for video.
Were you cat fished or did buddy decide to talk on the phone and stop being sketchy?
This was hilarious and entertaining.
You made my day 😁😁😁
Great! While I was watching this video I checked the weather in Bergen, and it was raining. =)
SmallRealm Haha! They probably needed more water in the aquariums :)
No need to check, it always is lol
I took a ferry from Hirtshals to Kristiansand then to Stavanger back in 1972.

+Marie Prestegård Hahha x) Don`t know how many times I have been to Bergen. Lovely city!
***** Yes it is, and because of all the rain everyone is smiling when the sun choose to show it self, like today. Do you live in Norway?
+Marie Prestegård Haha yeah :) Jepp. I am a norwegian, and I live 2 hours away from Stavanger :)
***** Har noe familie som bor i Stavanger, eller rettere sagt på Bryne, er fint der også.
Hahaha... OMG.. When you went to the north I lost it...hahaha.
Not from Norway, swed here, but still so funny
Thank you.
Good job
Im British and I was very impressed with how well Norwegians spoke English when I visited Oslo/Tønsberg. I wish I knew how to speak this laņuage, all I know is "Tok." The north of Norway sounds like the Viking show slightly. Interesting video. 👍
Also, got to add that the third and fourth accent you did sounds very similar to the Irish accent!
Thanks goodness for the angry accent. It made my day lol
+Luna Cabre Haha! Thank you x)
You're brilliant 😅
Trondheim is 11/10 - had a good uni mate from there!
I can relate! My husband talks the way they talk english in Oslo hahahaha but he's from Halden 😂😂😂
Hahaha xD
