As a woman and makeup wearer I can say confidently I know what that sentence means, apologies if a million people have said this already! They're meaning to say - "she talks to the people she loves regularly. Even when she does her makeup, she calls a friend so she can connect with someone at the same time, doing two things at once." essentially they're saying that calling loved ones is just as much a part of her daily life as doing her makeup is.
Funnily enough, I was literally doing my makeup while I watched this video 😅 I even thought to myself "damn calling my sister while doing my makeup is actually a great idea, I'm already looking for something to entertain me anyway"

The wealthy mainly/only looked at other people that came across as wealthy, whereas average people's interest was piqued by all kinds of people, average and wealthy-looking alike. IIRC, the conclusion/theory was that wealthy people do not have much interest in average/poor people, and that somehow comes from a mentality of them being separate, a different species almost, beneath them and therefore not worth considering. Not sure how they came to that conclusion from just that, and I might remember some details wrong, but thought I'd share, it's interesting.

The owner of Patagonia actually gave away the company to a "charitable organization" that he created himself, with his entire family on the board, donating his voting shares as well. The organization has a special legal tax designation that allows the funds to be not only tax free, but also free to be used for political lobbying purposes. Adam Conover made a great video breaking it all down in depth, but it was basically all just a sneaky political loophole to cement his family in control of Patagonia against the other shareholders for all time, make all their earnings untaxable, and to submit their future as one of the wealthiest, most influential lobbying superpowers in the world for decades to come, all in one major "checkmate". There's no such thing as an ethical billionaire, even the owner of Patagonia is sinister, the whole humanitarian image is just P.R, smoke and mirrors.

Keep in mind there are at least 5 entities involved in the creation of an article like this. The subject, the subject's PR team, the writer, the magazine editor/team, and the photographer. Each of these people is trying to tell a story, and the writer has the fun task of crafting these stories while also, possibly, trying to make their own commentary. So if the article seems to be at odds with itself, it could be due to conflict between these various interests.

As far as we know, fashion history has followed this trend for a long time. Poor people, who have limited resources and money for self expression, tweak what they have to look new and different. This is viewed as stylish and often has counter-cultural values to the standards and taboos of the time. Then as it gets popular among poor people, some middle class people will latch on, maybe to the counter-cultural values but this makes it less taboo so it then circulates up and up and gets absorbed into the mainstream. A good modern example would be "athleisure"

She called it "ghetto/class tourism," especially if they go into areas/countries because of curiosity; it's exciting/interesting to feel something more than their daily experiences. Also, She talked about dressing rich-poor(clothing that looks shanty to the average person, but another rich person might recognize it as a club(think Magnolia Pearl, etc.)). It’s disgusting, and I don’t understand how a girl can do that to another girl, the minute I hear that a guy has a girlfriend he doesn’t look attractive in my eyes, he’s just a friend. And i’m not the only one that thinks like this, so do my friends, because we would never want to be cheated on so we wouldn’t do that to someone else. I’m just glad that I don’t know anyone like that in my personal life.

Like if I won the mega millions jackpot today and suddenly had billions at my disposal, my first thought wouldn’t be to build a 10,000 year clock or space ships or all the other self serving, ego statues that billionaires create.
