The best thing I could have done to prepare was become a CNA and then a CMA. Currently just became an LPN, and working on my RN. Working up the latter really did help me get to were I am today. LPN was much harder, but it prepared me for the RN portion of nursing school. It gets challenging each semester. Study hard!

I graduate in May with my RN through a bridge track from my LPN. LPN school hands down prepared me 10-fold for the bridge. The RN general track students seem to have a harder time than the bridge. The main theme for us who have our LPN/Paramedic licenses do agree a lot of our bridge has been relearning and going deeper into content! Spot on. 🎉

I like to use the word “challenging”. Hard makes it sound like it isn’t able to get done. It’s a challenge that one has to overcome if they want to gain that title. When ppl ask me “how was the Lpn program?” It had it challenges. U might have to work more on your math skills or read a page multiple times until u actually understand what u read.

I agree with you because they will both be challenging if you have no experience and is coming in with no knowledge. I think the RN would be harder because it’s a higher level of nursing. Everything you learned in the LVN role you would also learn in the RN role, the RN like you said goes deeper.

Many LPNs had difficulty when I was in My RN program because they answered the testing according to what they do at their facility. That is the quickest way to fail a nursing exam. You have to answer according to textbook. Having experience helps with clinical and that’s it.

  • @n.beezy10

If you had learned it already, there would be no need to go to RN school. I can’t speak from a LPN perspective, because I’ve never been one. As a BSN RN, I must say that RN school is challenging; there’s more responsibility, and an expanded scope of practice. Both are referred to as nurse, but very different roles in terms of scope of practice and responsibility.

True, but having walked into a room where my RN was pulling on the catheter to get it out of the poor man without deflating the cuff, I have to say the difference is their approach to knowledge. The emphasis in practical in the LPN, frequently translates to better patient care. The best patient care, from my experience as a patient, came from those that started as LPNs and then became RNs.❤

    • @yourfavnurseb9699
      @yourfavnurseb9699  Před 7 měsíci +1

Yes. As a LPN you already have some basis of knowledge to pull from so going for your RN would be easier. But this can also be a hindrance bc if you come in with a cup that’s already full, you may not make room to learn more in that RN program.

I was just about to text someone to say I'm going to sleep and saw your question, here goes: if you're going to start studying in healthcare,
      just prepare to love reading,
when others are idling any where/ time(class/home), Read (class /bus/train & especially @home).
Reproduce (with book closed) what you read at the end of chapter then re-read, noting ur mistakes carefully, say it how understand it,check it then move to next chap.
      Be consistent & focussed.
Don't join the celebrity group of the class, notice the hard working members, get in graded groups with them, always do your end of work ,always. Read ahead of chapter.
Study, study, get assignments done on time. Study & use 1 more source of info.
Always read the chapter after which teacher gives.
You must pass any exam with this attitude it's a 100% guarantee. Try it then tell me if it didn't work. The above is a surety to pass ANY EXAM, GUARANTEED.
I'm also an even more serious believer in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
